Wow, I am so glad we decided to have dinner and drinks at Josephine's instead of driving to Whitefish. The vibe was the exact opposite of what we were expecting. We loved it. Amazing cocktails and really good food. I had the veggie gyro, which was great and filling. This place reminded me a lot of our favorite bar at home, the split rail. Definitely eat here, or even stop by for drinks. I believe they make all of their own whiskey at the distillery down the hill. Simply excellent. read more

Wonderful place for a meal. The parking is easy and the bathroom is clean. The staff is super friendly and they have a covid station for the customers where you can clean up with there own home made hand sanitizer. The cocktails are tasty and I was surprised at how awesome the poutine was. We also ordered the chicken strips and they were fire. All the sauces we amazing and they had their own whiskey in them. They are also pet friendly if you're traveling with the fur babies. read more

We arrived in Glacier excited that the rain cleared out the smoke and had our pick of sites, but the fire restrictions at the campground put a damper on our dinner plans. Not to fear because Josephine's is nearly as cozy as a campfire. No kidding, not only is this place impeccably decorated in a tasteful modern wilderness theme (yea, I made that up but it seems appropriate) with an interesting menu which is what attracted us initially, but the food was so yummy and comforting, beer and cocktail selection plentiful, and service incredibly friendly! Winner, winner fried chicken dinner! (side note: fried chicken was tasty with a massive crunch; be warned, portions are plentiful!) This is a must stop if you're staying in Glacier! We really enjoyed Josephine's. It's set in an older restored cabin type building. Nice cocktail program with a good selection of drinks on offer. Tried the dreamsicle and thought it tasted like it's namesake and liked it. Small food menu but interesting choices. Started with the bison chili and really liked it. Nice flavor and very hearty. Then had a bison gyro and it was also very flavorful. Very friendly and attentive service. Overall a great spot. read more

Did we enjoy Josephine's? Yes. Why? Well, the food. What food? Huh? The restaurant food in the quaint little log cabin. Like a silent majority of the areas establishments, Josephine's serves a Cajun-focused menu. Don't worry, you haven't apparated to the bayou. In fact, you're just outside the gates of Glacier National Park. You might even get to see a moose later. It's all a bit confusing, really, but apparently we like confusion because the spot was a gem and the food was really good. I call it Coram, Montana's finest. Whether you're glamping or gearing up to fight a bear, it is the fuel you will need. Wings, fried green tomatoes and pickles, poutine, prime rib sandwiches. Good grief! The novel cocktails, presumably sourced from the distillery next door, include sazeracs and spiked slushies, among other curious concoctions. read more

Delicious drinks and food! I really appreciated the limited menu; they've refined the dishes that they offer and everything we ordered (which was most of the menu) was great. Definitely worth a stop if you're staying in or even driving through West Glacier. read more

I feel pretty torn because I think this is a great location that is aesthetically pleasing in a lovely setting and they have the distillery next-door that produces some wonderful spirits that they use in their cocktails. My wife and I went here for pre-dinner cocktails and had several good ones but one of them tasted like tonic water only which is fine, mistakes happen, but when we asked for a new drink we could overhear our very kind waitress talking to the bartender who loudly refused to remake it and then came over and confronted us. It made our experience pretty uncomfortable, especially for my wife which then sadly impacted our overall time there. So, for the other drinks the rating was 4-5 stars depending on the drink, the location was 5 stars, the waitress was also 5 stars, the bartender's "barside manner" was 1 out of 5 stars. Hopefully he was just having a bad day and next time will be different. We'll go back another time and hope for a different or happier customer-oriented bartender. read more

My husband and I loved our experience at Josephine's! They let our dogs sit with us on the patio, which can be hard to find when traveling. Our server was so friendly and helpful. I was visiting Glacier and got a recommendation to go here for dinner. The steak sandwich was recommended by a local. It wasn't very good, sort of dry and everything was an up charge. Not sure why gravy that should have been on a sandwich was an additional $1 and I'm not sure why I have to take my plates to a garbage can when I'm paying a tip. Also we ordered a rocket shaken whisky malt and they put absinthe in the mix. It tasted terrible!!! If I return to Glacier in the future I'll probably try a different spot for dinner. read more

We spotted in and ate dinner here with our three kids and had a wonderful meal! The outdoor seating was lovely and well spread out. The staff was very attentive and kind. But the food was amazing!! Everyone loved it and we ordered seconds of most of the tapas we got (Buttermilk Chicken Tenders, Empanadas, and a Chacuterie Board. The Huckelberry Lemonade was delicious. And even better- the food was presented quickly after ordering. Overall wonderful experience and wished we lived closer so we could be regulars there! read more

I know this place is part of the distillery, and that place is not to be missed. Josephine's has really good food. The chicken tenders with Fireweed whiskey BBQ sauce is the best ever. The bison gyro is decent - the meat very tender.The service, though, is a bit disjointed. They took my orders and 25 minutes of waiting later (it was busy), I went back in to find out where it was and they had forgotten to put it in. They blamed the internet as being down. Taking my payment was no problem, though - it is pay when ordering. By that time my wife couldn't enjoy her drink and it was very late. They offered a box, but you can't box a cocktail. read more

Every item we had was absolutely excellent. From the spiked hot cocoa which warmed us up in the best way, to the spinach artichoke dip which was perfectly balanced towards the cheesier side, to the charcuterie board with the most excellent apricot marmalade, followed by the best chili I've ever had (bison chili to boot) with big chunks of tomatoes, and a buttery tender pork shoulder. We came in here last thursday night on August 23rd after the wildfires closed some of the roads in the park in West Glacier. We called an audible and decided to have dinner. I had no idea what to expect before I came in here but you should expect greatness. The cocktails are strong and the food was great. The service was on top of it and the people were nice. I thought the vegetable hummus was okay but my brother went to town on it. The real winners here were the sandwiches. My brother had 3 cheese mushroom melt and thought it was terrific. I had the prime rib sandwich which i was skeptical of at first because it had marmalade in it but boy, was I wrong. The marmalade perfectly complimented the sandwich. Highly recommend this place if you're ever going to Glacier. read more

This place was easily one of the hidden gems of my friend's and my time visiting Glacier. My friend and I are travel nurses and traveled from Seattle, and this place had big city tastes with small town comfort. The alcohol is distilled in the shop next door, and the drinks were incredible (we really recommend the mules!). Jackie, our server, was likewise a gem of our time here. Charming log cabin setting with a play structure and toy box to keep your kids busy while you sip your craft cocktails made with delicious local ingredients by the ladies behind the bar. The food is awesome! Lots of fresh ingredients and interesting twists on classics. We had fried green tomatoes, bison gyros, trout po boy and crunchy fried chicken. All that balanced with salads that tasted like fresh picked. It's a little hard to spot off hwy 2 but worth the hunt. read more

This place would easily have gotten a 5 star rating from me but for one thing. The gumbo. More about that later. The location is close to the west entrance to Glacier which makes it convenient. We ate outside and it was very pleasant. The ordering was a slow process, not very efficient but the staff was super friendly. My wife and I shared the prime rib sandwich and it was good, not fantastic, but good. The gumbo however was horrible. It was thick and pasty and very lite brown in color, did not have a gumbo flavor as if they never completely cooked the roux that make the base of any gumbo. I would never have ordered a gumbo in Montana (my bad) but the picture I saw here on Yelp made it look very good. I think they may have just missed it this day. The local craft beer selection was small but I found a favorite so I was good. Overall, I do highly recommend this place. read more
