    Cabbage Rolls with Baked Potato
    Spike S.

Reviewed May 30, 2019 No health score available The iconic Joseph's in the heart of oil country! The last time I ate here was 35 years ago. The name hasn't changed even though the owners have. The inside of the restaurant and the menu is still pretty close to how they were back then. They have always been known for their steaks, smoked meats and Lebanese style sides and appetizers. I will be back to try the steaks, but for this visit I wanted the cabbage rolls and the tabouly (tabbouleh). The cabbage roll special comes with two cabbage rolls, a choice of salad (slaw or tabouly), a choice of potatoes and a dinner roll. The cabbage rolls were filled with pleasantly seasoned lean ground beef and rice. The tabouly was made from Joseph's original recipe. It was a tasty combination of bulgur wheat, parsley, tomatoes with oil and lemon. Very good! Most folks having lunch there were having one of the steaks, so they are still a big draw. On my first trip to Drumright, I ended up coming here with a group of friends. We had quite a large group and as expected had to wait to be seated. Given the size of our group, I felt that we were seated in an adequate amount of time. The lights on the inside were dimmed to help set the ambience. All of the food was really good. There was something there called tabouly, which I had never heard of, but it was a hit with everyone in the group who ordered it. Also, The Bigfoot is appropriately named as it is a really good sized burger. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and left feeling pretty full on the trip back. There is just something about those single name steakhouses and Joseph's did not disappoint!

Pretty good. The taubuli was great. Fresh roll and hand breaded chicken fry. Green beans were seasoned perfect. Mashed potatoes were real. I like that they serve cracker and butter with your meal.

Hummus and Tabouli, also served with a cabbage roll, BBQ bologna and spareribs.

Great shrimp and tabouli. Best service. My husband's sirloin steak was one of the best he's ate in a long time.

This is one of our family favorites. It's in the middle of nowhere. Drumright, Ok. Specialty signature steaks. Always on point.

This place does not even great you but Loves To Slam everything on the table. Hate is what you feel when the waitress is near. Place is a Chaotic Mess to watch. Reservation is required and ours was listed for our 27th Anniversary. We have had 26 better meals starting at Waffle House when I was Army Infantry and what we could afford. Arrived 10 minutes early took 20 to be seated by the Bartender no Hostess. Thank god you are forced to have reservations for Dinner. 45 minutes later after we got seated we flagged down the Bartender Hostess to take our order. Our waitress Stacy never came to our table she has 4 in a row and would skip us Everytime! Seems you need to be a Local to eat here or even get service. It should have never left the kitchen but it was more tender than my medium rare. The statement on the menu is Center cut Steaks. My wife's was a center cut mine an end chunk. Low Quality Beef. If you're hungry this is your place, promise it will not disappoint! The staff is beyond amazing, very welcoming and friendly. Provided good recommendations and always checked on us. The wife had the rib dinner, super delicious and flavorful. It comes with choice of sides, the potato salad was mustard based, not over powerful, just right. Okra crisp and hot. I had the 2 meat combo dinner; smoked slice chicken and brisket. The sliced chicken was moist, delicious and great tasting. The smoked sliced brisket, tender and my palate was jumping. Comes with choice of 2 sides which I had the country style green beans (loved them) and smoked BBQ beans which definitely kicked it all off. For dessert we had the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Oh my, oh my!! I highly recommend stopping here if traveling through or even make a trip to come because it's well worth it. Service is excellent and the food is outstanding. While it might be a little tricky to find due to the speakeasy vibes, if you park in the lot on the very side of the plaza you'll see it. Plenty of parking too in the lot. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Jessica who so graciously welcomed me despite my showing up close to closing time. I got to sit upstairs on a quiet night and have most of the place to myself, including the AMAZING salad bar that had more premium ingredients than I ever expected. I ordered the 10oz prime rib which was definitely larger than I expected as well. So tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. I have seen other reviews complaining about the price, but for $43 (which includes that massive salad bar and a fantastic baked potato) you get every bit of your money's worth. I ate leftovers throughout the next day. This was a wonderful experience for me as an out of towner - I really think everyone here takes pride in what they do and what they serve. I was looking for a big, fat delicious steak in Oklahoma and I was overly impressed with Rusty Barrell. Jessica really made my experience top notch - big thanks to her and the kind staff who stayed behind to keep this place open even later than what the website tells you. Must stop if anywhere near the Ponca City area!
