Joseph's is sooooo good! If you're in the mood for real and delicious Italian food...this is the place. The pizza is some of the best in the NoCo area. There is no inside seating so plan to get it and go or sit outside and enjoy. It is an Italian market with lots of food and amazing wine selections. My review is only for the takeout food: we got spaghetti dishes and ravioli dishes. Both were generous portions! I'm stuffed. We'll feast on leftovers for two more meals. I also thoroughly enjoyed the free bread loaf (!) that came with the order. Picked up dinner on Monday evening for my kids and I. We all found the food thoroughly mediocre-- mozzarella sticks were hard and the sauce tasteless. We also ordered the Italian Chicken (relatively little chicken, to be honest, and no discernible seasoning); and the Cheese Ravioli and sauce was also bland. Bread was fine but did not live up to the hype. Perhaps we're spoiled by our frequenting the North End in Boston, but we'll pass on the Shed next time we're in town as it was not worth the $60. My tweens are easy to please when it comes to food, so it's not a good sign when they only pick at it. read more

Hot take out on a busy Saturday night. They didn't answer the phone so we went in and placed an order. Asked for ravioli & marinara, bolognese, chicken broccoli Alfredo. The bolognese was basically broken up pieces of meatballs on overcooked spaghetti. It was inedible. Alfredo wasn't any better. The aioli was actually good. We ended up tossing the other two and filled up on the loaf of bread they gave us. Don't know why this had such good reviews. read more

We were in town for a girl's reunion. Honestly, there weren't a lot of dining options outside pub food. We opted for pizza and salad. The pizza was fine; thin crust, nice flavor. The salads were AOK as well. There was one place we wanted to try that was outside some of the girl's budget (White Mountain Cider Co.) so we made do with Joseph's. This area is about nature and waterfalls and serenity, not much about food. We appreciated Joseph's taking care of us for a simple Sunday supper. read more

Our friend went to school with the owner and said we had to try it. The name does not do it justice. They are only doing take out due to a COVID and it is worth the experience. Call ahead and place your order and they will tell which space to park in. Arrive a the time they give you and within minutes they deliver to your car. The meals were awesome and still warm. The bread loaf was incredible and wish we had two for dinner. Oh, the garlic butter was perfect. Spread that Sh#t on everything. We each had our special requests and it was perfect. Great spaghetti shed! Visited the area for my birthday and decided to have a night in with take out. The food was great, decent portions for the price. They offer a free loaf of bread, with a choice of plain or garlic butter. Pizza selection was creative. The staff are very covid conscious and run takeout orders to assigned parking spots. read more

Still takeout only. I'm a tourist. If I was here for another 5 days I'd order from the Spaghetti Shed every day until I left. Pizza was ok. Better than average. Crust was the weak point, but the sauce was fantastic. I had spaghetti with meatballs and sausage with marinara. Best I've had in my life. The sauce, meatballs, and sausage were all A++. My wife bolognese sauce. Normally I'm not fan, but I tried hers and became a fan. The garlic butter is amazing. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Excellent food. Excellent service. Fantastic staff. Ordered the eggplant parm take out. Had the house sauce which included mushrooms onions and peppers. Delicious meal! The clincher was the huge loaf of fresh baked Italian bread with garlic butter! Bought a bottle of their cranberry pear balsamic while waiting for my take out from their market. This will be my new go to place for delicious homemade meals next time I visit! I've set all five stars. Ate here over the weekend- the pizza was TINY and way overpriced. My sister in law actually went back to confirm we had gotten the right order and was told she could purchase a frozen pizza if she needed more. No flavor, vegetables on the pizza were raw and basically just loaded on there. Wouldn't in good conscience recommend to anyone. read more

It was freezing cold and my Joyce was recovering from surgery. She wanted pasta. So we both knew it was Joseph Spaghetti Shed time. So we called for take out, because she is not up to sitting and traveling. When I arrived the food was ready. So I went to pay with a gift certificate and cash. There was a moment of hesitation because gift certificates cannot be used for take out ordets. But she came back in a minute and said no problem. The kindness of the folks were only surpassed by the food itself. Smiley face spaghetti, hot bread with garlic butter, and an extra side of meat balls and sausage. Just fantastic. Most of the food we ordered was practically inedible. The bread with garlic butter was ok. Worse sauce than jarred Ragu. Meatballs were gross. The pizza was just ok until we found a hair on it. We ended up throwing out most of what we ordered. Unfortunately it was a very pricey mistake to order here. I have driven by this place a million times and I'm so glad I stopped! Atmosphere was awesome. It was nice and cool (AC) on an extremely hot and oppressive day! Waitress was spot on and super nice! Ordered the stuffed clams as an appetizer and they were delicious! French onion soup was good! My husband got veal parmigiana and said it was a little thick but delicious and tasty! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it was delicious! The kids had spaghetti and meatballs and both pretty much cleaned their plate! The sign outside says "Don't drive by!" We were staying nearby in a friends home and after a day of hiking wanted something warm and delicious. Joseph's Spaghetti Shed met that need and then some. Large, generous portions. We ordered Spaghetti Combo (sausage and meatballs with marinara sauce) It was excellent. I wish we could've eaten inside, but it seemed as if Pandemic Protocols were still in effect for the Palace! Regardless, the pesto spaghetti was perfect and right up my alley! Update as Beth responded to my past review. Correct, the order I am referring to is under the name Rachel. The chef salad was ordered, there was a lack of communication on your part as the salad that we actually asked to be removed from the bill was a small garden salad, not the chef salad which was ordered in a completely seperate part of the conversation. Simple math proves based on your menu that we were double charged for the salad. As for talking on the phone to you, it was not in my interest as I waited over an hour to finally eat my meal after all of the inconvenience, and was not in the mood to talk on the phone for the 3rd time that day with you guys. Unfortunately we are still waiqting for the money back on the salad that we never recieved, however apparently you would prefer to take the tip from your employee than fix your mistake. Instead of receiving an apology for your error (even now), or removing the salad from our order, its clear you still have room for improvement on how you treat your customers. That is my biggest suggestion for you moving forward. read more

This is another New Hampshire spot that seems like a local favorite because every time we drive by, there are people waiting to be seated outside. They open at 4:30 (It used to be closed Wednesdays but it is now open 7 nights/week until Labor Day) so I recommend getting there for that time, (if not earlier) if you don't want to wait for a table. If you do wait inside, there is a small area which is air conditioned, with reading material for adults and some toys for children. I absolutely love pasta and can eat it every day so I was very excited to try this restaurant again. They start the table off with a loaf of their freshly made bread, served with regular butter and a bowl of their garlic butter (absolutely delicious) on the side. It is steaming hot when it arrives at your table, the butter melts right away and it's just, SO good. I ordered the Spaghetti with (3) Homemade Meatballs with Bolognese sauce and while the portions are quite large, and I have quite the small frame, I ate all of it (it's not just because I'm pregnant either- it just tasted SO good). Everyone at our table finished their entire plates. Their meatballs are so good, I actually asked our waiter if they could let me in on parts of the recipe for them but he said he didn't even know... oh well! The Spaghetti combo is also very good- it comes with two meatballs and a sausage. This time it was served with their house sauce and it was a hit. Lasagna was another dish that was served and it was light and tasty. I am always apprehensive that lasagna will be too heavy so I never order it but this was not the case. Their spaghetti with roasted red pepper pesto (thin spaghetti tossed with a delicious combination of roasted red peppers, garlic, cheese, olive oil and Italian spices) was a hit. The one dish we had questioned our waiter about was the Spaghetti with Chicken & Broccoli (chunks of chicken and broccoli sauteed with garlic, white wine and rich chicken stock). It tasted good and there were no complaints, but the amount of liquid at the bottom of the bowl had me thinking of Gordon Ramsay being distraught that it was soaked in so much liquid. However, that is just how it is made and it has a bit of an Asian vibe to it. All around, the service was great, the food was delicious and while some people may say that $13.99-$15.99 may be a bit pricey for pasta, I think it was well worth it for the homemade freshness and warmth served with every dish. If you want to have something that is not spaghetti, they also have pizzas, subs, salads and non italian dishes, but since I am such a pasta lover, I don't know how those dishes would be rated. read more

Small Italian eatery along rt 302, 2 miles down from the intersection of 302 and 16. Storyland is just around the corner on rt 16. Decent family place, very kid friendly. The food is kid friendly as well. Most items on the menu consists of pasta (spaghetti) with some type of meat or vegetarian fair topped with your choice of House(meat and veggies), meat, or Mariana sauce. Sauce is "topped" on the pasta, and not cooked with the pasta in the pan, again, something more kids friendly. Fresh loaf of bread on every table, with salted butter or garlic infused butter. We got it with their house sauce (you can order your pasta with a choice of sauces). Tangy sauce, good meatballs, and really good sausage. They gave us a whole loaf of freshly baked bread to go with it along with garlic butter. A whole loaf for two people! My wife and I split the spaghetti and it was plenty for the tow of us. We each had a small ceasar salad too which was good but the dressing wasn't what we were expecting for ceasar salad. I would really like to dine in next time if possible. Currently you pull into an assigned parking spot, call, and they bring the food out to you. We couldn't call them before they already came out with our food. read more

My family absolutely loved the Spaghetti Shed so much we ate there twice! At first we didn't go because it was takeout only and we wanted to sit down for that type of meal but we stayed at Attitash so it turned out to be awesome to bring it back to the hotel since our 11 month old was pretty overtired. They had the takeout game down packed and it was so quick and easy. First night we did pasta. Second night we did pizza. Both were amazing and definitely had that home cooked feel and taste. Also get their desserts. They are all delicious. Peanut butter pie, apple crisp, bread pudding, etc. Everything was amazing and they were super nice. We will definitely add this to our Must Stops list when we visit the White Mountains again. No clue how some people gave them bad reviews because this restaurant is awesome. Hello. I am a stereotypical American who enjoys large-sized half-priced meals. I love this place. or Hello. I am a picky food snob who has been spoiled by the North End in Boston for too many years. I had an ok time at this place. Ding Ding Ding!!! Ugh - I always thought I wouldn't fall to food snobery lows....but, here I am. The mysterious Spaghetti Shed has given me many a giggle for many a year. In January of 20-15, we finally put a taste to the name fame and stopped in for dinner. Please note...the hours on the "website" (ie: blog: http://josephsspaghettished.blogspot.com/) say "Closing time varies depending on how busy we are...but, always open 'til at least 8". So, if it's early evening, you may want to call to check what their plan is (I kinda got to hand it to them...I wish I could just work until I wasn't too busy and then just leave). Fortunately for us, Saturday night around 530, the place was bustling and we *just* got in (table for two) before a party of eight arrived (big apres ski spot). The atmosphere: quintessential no-frills North Country; plastic printed table clothes, hanging mismatched lanterns, and drafty as hell (frozen hell...let it go). The tables wobbled, the floor was laminate tile, and the service was EXCELLENT (possibly the happiest waiter of all time). A note on the menu: get the pasta. "But I'm in the mood for..." - no. Stop. Get the pasta. And while you're at it: get the "small" which is a plate larger than your head mascaraing as a 12oz serving. That's two meals for $10 (you and your date could split it! Or you could be like me and take the rest home as leftovers that you'll slurp down in the car). For sauces: Marinara, Bolognese, House Sauce, Red Mushroom, Red Clam, White Clam, Alfredo, Tomato Cream, or....just spaghetti with butter (if this is you, you're weird). The alfredo was pretty good, but hella heavy (but then, what does one expect from a cream-based sauce - - - YUM). If you're more into a special: get the Spaghetti Combo (2 meatballs and a sausage with marinara, bolognese or house sauce - - - they serve it to you smiling, which is disturbing and humorous [and delicious] all at once). EITHER WAY - - - make sure, absolutely positive, 100% that you get a serving of the homebaked bread with garlic butter. By "bread" they don't mean no stinkin' puny SLICE or ROLL....They mean a friggin' LOAF of warm Italian bread. Yes, you can take the rest home with you. Yes, you will fight yourself to break a hunk off in the car and clumsily smear the garlic butter on while trying not to run into a moose on 16. ...it will be worth it. For dessert, I had heard about their famed pies...but i guess winter isn't the time to try this out as there were only two flavors (apple or peanut butter - neither of which I am a fan). You can't purchase a whole pie on the spot, either - but you CAN order them in advance (thanks, Spaghetti Shed!). The pie was "meh" - I found the apple to be undercooked for my taste and the crust was nothing to write home about (pie snob), but the $5 serving was like to smallish pieces so a good deal for families looking to share. In the end....is this a hot spot for a romantic dinner where you'll pop the question? .....no (for the love of GAHD please no...unless you want that Spaghetti Combo to be served in a frowny face). Is this a good stop for large parties looking for a casual meal? Yeah, definitely. The price is right, the parking is tight, and the spaghetti is never-ending. Carbo-load up, my friends! read more

This place is awesome! My husband and I were staying nearby at Nordic Village on a ski trip, and we called to place the order for a couple entrees and their artichoke dip. The young woman on the phone was kind as could be, and they brought out our food as soon as we drove up. It was left on a table for us to grab, making it perfectly contactless. I got their house sauce - I actually said the words "this taste just like my Mom's! - and my husband got the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, which he called outstanding. The artichoke dip was excellent, and the order even came with a loaf of delicious homemade bread and garlic butter. We'll be back for sure - highly recommend! Ordered chicken piccata to-go and the pasta was submerged in piccata sauce which seemed a bit 'much.' The bread was absolutely amazing.
