While camping in margaritaville we went down the street to this Mexican restaurant. Service and food was excellent. Highly recommend and will return.

We got these at LaPlayita and they were outstanding!

We called Jose's Cantina yesterday evening and asked if they had oysters on the half shell? The girl said yes we do (after she went and checked) at $12.99 per dozen. 15 later we were there being served drinks and appetizers after ordering 2 dozen oysters. The waitress then told us that they didn't have oysters on the half shell! I asked to speak with the manager and she said sorry . The past 3 times we have been here the service has gotten worse and to top it off this is the second time they told us they had them and didn't. Don't waste your time or money here. The only reason I rated them a "1" is because zero isn't a option!

We had a "I'm too exhausted from the drive down to cook" evening and decided to go to Jose's. I'm glad we did. It was nice and cool inside and it wasn't so loud we couldn't talk and hear each other. The menu was different.... But good different. They had all kinds of seafood and.... All kinds of Mexican food. So if you wanted fajitas bam or if you wanted some fried seafood bam. We started off with the fried calamari and fried seafood stuffed jalapeños. Wow absolutely delish. I didn't get a picture of our food but it was amazing as well. They also have a full bar and prices were reasonable. Our waiter kept checking on us and kept the ice water when we first got there.

It wasn't bad just not the greatest I've had on the Gulf. It was really large inside and looks like a hopping place in busy season.

The best restaurant on the beach. . One of the best.

The Avocado Shrimp Salad with a side of Gumbo is my best pick on the menu. Delicious. Happy Hour is $3 for a Magarita. It is good a spot to dine.. Services is great. Ambiance is the beachy feel with great food.

Came with a group of 12, great service and great food. Manager came several times to make sure everything was good and even gave the kids a quarter each for gumballs. The server Heather was awesome recommending food and making sure everything was ok. 10/10.

This place is very good! Stuffed shrimp is a little spicy but I like it that way. Service was great. Atmosphere is nice.

From the herbed popover to the lobster salad we shared, we were off to a good start. They gave us a lovely window table for a short two minute wait. Our little Russian server was a doll, helpful and full of personality. The strange thing was, every time we asked for something, more tartar sauce, in house made ranch, drinks, someone new brought it to our table. It was very quick rather than waiting for our server for every little request. I ordered the Lobster Thermidor with skinny fries and hubby ordered the Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips and both were absolutely outstanding. Best fish and chips I've ever had. The Halibut was cooked to perfection! The Thermidor was full of flavor, perfectly saucy with a simple and slightly cheesy Parmesan flavor. It said it had mushrooms in it, but I think it really only had three small pieces. I love mushrooms so I could've gone for more, but the whole dish was really outstanding. My fries were a bit more crispy than my husbands. All their sauces are made in house and are absolutely delicious, cocktail, tartar, and ranch. I was using them all for my frites. I would definitely love to come back for any special occasion. The only disappointment was the cheesecake at the end. It was just kind of boring. It could have been elevated by caramelizing the banana. In hindsight I would have chosen something different because an airier version of cheesecake, or something more delicate would have been a better finish to such a lovely, meal.

The service has always been friendly and attentive, making each visit enjoyable. My only complaint is the noise level. When the restaurant is busy, the sound echoes throughout the dining room, making it difficult to relax and have a conversation. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but considering how consistently busy they are, it's clear many people feel it's worth it. I'd say it's because it lacks competition. Overall, it's still one of my favorite places to eat in Galveston, and I always look forward to coming back.

I had the Gulf Red Snapper for my entree and my husband ordered the surf and turf special (wagyu in mushroom sauce with lobster tail). We had the brussel sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese as our shared sides. Also fantastic! So much lobster in the Mac and cheese! The snapper was topped with lump crabmeat which was not mentioned on the menu description (an added bonus)! Between our appetizers and dinner, we were served fresh homemade bread. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée -- the sugar topping was a little chewy but still so flavorful and creamy. They also gave us a small tiramisu for our anniversary dessert. Service was great. The food: steaks were tender, mac and cheese was creamy and delicious and the brussel sprouts with squash was tasty. And the bread pudding was very good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The thing to pay attention to is the synchronized service. Drinks are poured simultaneously for all guests at the table. Plates are placed before all guests simultaneously. This happens with two or ten! The decor is fancy, upscale. The lighting is low and dining feels private, as the tables are spaced well apart. You can't hear other conversations.
