Dr. McCormick and his staff are outstanding. Professional, polite, patient,... the list goes on and on. They have completely changed my life for the better, with the dental work they've performed. Every step of the way, they've explained my options, their recommendations, next steps, etc... I've neglected my dental visits for many years - in no way was I ever made to feel any less or "in trouble". They were happy to bring me back to a great state of dental/oral health, and I truly appreciated the great vibes they all had, when interacting with me. I had a bad experience here with billing, similar to the other unfavorable review here on Yelp. Although the dentist and hygienist care here are excellent, their billing staff appears to be ill-prepared for anything outside of the ordinary. I'm seeing a periodontist and alternate care between sites and expect this office as my primary dentist to guide and optimize my insurance. They instead blindsided and sent me a bill charging me more for an exam and cleaning than a specialist does. I've had better experiences at my previous dentists as they took ownership of my insurance plan and would warn me if things were not covered. I tried working it out with them but the office staff was pretty adamant that there was no way to compromise outside of me paying the entire bill, which could easily have been avoided if we scheduled my appointment 2 months later into the new year. Or again, at least a heads up would have been nice. My sister had a similar experience when she needed a dental implant - the staff was clueless in helping her explore payment options. She's since left and now I am too, which I why I feel compelled to share these experiences. If you have any outside needs from general dentistry, I'd recommend finding a different office as they can't seem to handle notifying patients that insurance may not cover some of their services. read more

I have been going to Dr. McCormick for a year now even though I live in Berkeley. I have had a wonderful experience there. The office is very clean and the staff are friendly. My hygienist was gentle but also thorough and I appreciate that she took the extra time needed to clean my teeth. Dr. McCormick is patient and knowledgeable. I like the way he explains thing and makes it simple to understand. The reason why I will keep coming back to his office is that he will never recommend something that is unnecessary for my teeth, and that means a lot for me. If you need a new dentist, go to him. I love going to this office!! Everyone is so friendly and gentle. I was previously a patient of Dr. Holm's and was so sad when he passed and unsure what to do next. Dr. McCormick and staff were so warm and friendly even when they were having to deal with their loss as well. I have seen every hygenist there and love them all! I think the previous reviewer was mistaken on his experience and maybe wrote an unfair review. I think there office is great and have NEVER had a bad experience with them. The finest dental experience in 60 years...really. OK, going to the dentist is not high on the list of fun to-dos. However...I've been in dentists chairs for six decades and had high anxiety every second. On the way to, while there, and on the way home I detested every moment. Dread is the word. However...at this practice, the experience is, if not fun, then enjoyable as possible. The staff is genuine and delightful. If any dentist is painless, Dr. McCormick is. How the doctor deals with staff when patients are not around reveals much. He is the same low-key, gentle soul whenever, wherever he is. He even left a mini-vacation to call me back with a minor emergency on a weekend! I cannot recommend this practice enough. On all counts: paperwork, the actual work, follow up this is the model for others to follow. I also need to mention that I am the world's biggest baby, and am very comfortable there. As is my wife and son. In summary, let's be honest-dentists are like colon exams. You need to have them, but avoid them at every turn. This practice, from top-down, is gracious, gentle, professional and courteous. Like I said, in six decades, I've probably seen several dozen dental offices. Far and away, this is the best. If I could give 10 stars I would. Dr McCormick is fantastic and I trust his diagnosis 100%. I have total trust in him and his staff. I have to say that every time I have had to have work done on my teeth it has been absolutely without any discomfort. Micaela has been my hygienist for longer than I can remember, and I actually look forward to my 6 month cleanings. She is thorough and does a incredible job! My teeth are sooo clean when she is done. Chelsea and Stephanie, in the office are outstanding and always accommodate me for any needs that I might have. The experience I have had in Dr. McCormick's office has been the best! Dr. McCormick and his staff are awesome! His cosmetic skills are amazing! I went in with two chipped front teeth and he fixed them so beautifully that there is no sign that they were ever chipped at all, even when I look at them in my magnified mirror. I have been going to this dentist since he took over Dr Holm's practice. The previous review does not do justice at all. I find that he has kept Dr Holm's philosophy that the best treatment should determine what care a patient elects to have done and not the $$. I have been to other dentist in the past that would nickle and dime you for various treatments, Dr McCormick does not do that. His treatment methods and the practice is up-to-date with modern dentistry standards and I feel I am getting the best treatment possible by the most friendly staff. In fact I, my family - spouse and mother see him as well. I have never been pressured for a specific treatment, he gives me all available options and his recommendations. I highly recommend him! Although I have not worked in the dental field I have worked in nursing for 30 years, I know what I should expect from the medical field, and he meets all my standards. read more

I had a crown done here years ago It was done beautifully painless and so quick! So convenient! I was so impressed. The staff is so friendly and Dr McCormick is so professional and good at what he does! I recommend him to friends specially with children and also good for adults. I also like I can book teeth cleanings on Fridays many other dentists are closed on Fridays. You have to book in advance but it works out. read more

Simply the BEST!! I was a patient of Dr. Scott Holm although I had seen Dr. McCormick also, following the passing of Dr. Holm I remained a patient. As a former dental manager and someone who has been in healthcare for 20+ years it is refreshing to know how conservative he is and how respected his staff is. This is by far one of the best dental practices I have ever been associated with, and they don't rip you off. I love Dr. McCormick and his staff! I've had a lot of dental problems in my life, so I have seen a lot of dentists. I was super scared of dentists until I met Dr. McCormick. I knew at the beginning that I had a lot of problems with my teeth. He showed me a treatment plan to fix my teeth and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the most expensive way to fix my teeth, I had a dentist that tried to sell me a $50,000 plan. He actually cared that I couldn't afford that expensive plan and came up with a plan to fix my teeth well within my budget. The office staff worked with me and my dental insurance to optimize my treatment plan and my flex dollars. Now I have beautiful white straight teeth without any more things to fix. For the first time in my life, I only have to go in for cleanings. It may not be the most fun to go to the dentist, but they make the experience great and they really care about their patients. read more
