    Wings

Honestly came here for the wings lol. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a Local dive bar. There are TVs for news and games. Age demographic can range from 30s-late 60s.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks may be served in the red solo cup bringing back memories to your college days;) The waitress/bartender is nice, but remember to be patient as it could only be her, and one other person manning the bar and tables. The wings were freshly fried, and tossed with buffalo sauce. My preference would be to fry it a bit longer for crispier wings as the sauce can make the skin soggy. In addition to the wings, I ordered the steamed shrimp. The sides were standard. It was crinkle fries and coleslaw. The hubs had the ground steak with sides of mash and corn. The menu is what is expected for a dive bar. It's nothing fancy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A place to come with friends, and have conversation while watching the game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] :)

    Nachos without meat

Cool little dive bar- I went on Saturday of Halloween 2023 and they had karaoke, a full bar, a full kitchen (until about midnight, I think), and Josh himself was DJ-ing very well! My nachos were very good and I told the bartender I didn't drink alcohol right now, so she made me a soda water with lemon & lime (I was just missing the tequila that I normally would also add). I appreciated her willingness to serve my special drink and the lack of judgement (I've heard of bartenders being judgemental or harsh towards sober people). When I go again, I will be ordering the nachos- they were that good! They also have a cool outdoor space with tables & a huge yard. Honestly, it would make a good venue for an outdoor wedding or big birthday party! Don't look past it, if they're open to host something like that.

There is no other local place like Josh's! It can be busy on Friday and Saturdays because the locals know where to go. The food is always good, and you can't beat the prices or the portions. Friday almost always has a live band. It's definitely worth your time!

    Huge burgers

Stopped in for a burger based on the Yelp reviews, since we were in the area. It's a decent sized place with pool tables, electronic darts and lots of TVs. I imagine it can get pretty busy on a weekend night and it is definitely a locals dive bar kind of place. We were there for a late lunch, so it was pretty empty. The bar tender was working by herself and she cooked our food. She was super friendly. The burgers are HUGE, so it's a good value for the money - they are served with a big pile of crinkle cut fries. I wasn't a fan of the seasoning on the burger (I'm a purist), and they were a little over for my taste. This looks like a good neighborhood hang out if you're looking to get your pitcher of beer on and eat standard bar fare.

Parts were good: burger price and flavor, portion sizes of burgers, sides and toppings. Needs improvement: wait staff isn't very attentive. We weren't asked how we wanted burger temp (medium/rare/etc) and didn't get tomato on any of our sandwiches/burgers. The chicken sandwich is tenders which was unexpected (though it'd be a breast). We were seated without any menus and had to ask for them. Not my type of place so I wouldn't go back but it is 4 min from my house so I figured we should try it. If you like cheap food at a sport bar and aren't picky about your service, go for it. Seems like a place for locals. I'm new to the area.

    MAYO YUCK!

Oftentimes I'll order a cheeseburger and fries to go after work on Fridays. After reading the reviews and seeing the cheap prices I decided to order from here. I requested no grilled and buttered bun as well as lettuce, tomato, and onion only, (I HATE mayo on sandwiches!). When I arrived and after parking my car I approached the front door and almost turned around. Can you say eyesore? But I was hungry so I went in and whelp, the interior wasn't much better than that door! The lady who took my order was nice on the phone as well as in person. So I get home and unveil the hope to be masterpiece burger and guess what? MAYO YUCK!!!

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

I was…read moretold by the hostess that the stroller counted as a third person and I would need a table to accommodate 3 people which would be a 2 hour wait. I was told that if I were to leave the stroller in the car and hold/carry her, it would be a 50 minute wait for "two." I opted to go online and make a "reservation" for two and I would put the stroller in the car and hold my daughter for a reservation time of 1:00 pm (only a 30 minute wait). Why do I need to go online while standing in the restaurant to make a quicker "reservation" when I'm standing right in front of the hostess? When checking in for the 1:00 pm reservation, the hostess asked if I was going to hold my daughter or if I wanted a high chair for her. This made no sense as the entire point of me holding her was because I needed a "table for 2." If I was going to be offered a high chair for a baby that can't even sit up yet, I should've been able to keep her asleep in the stroller and still been a table for 2. How is a high chair at that point not considered a third? Her stroller wouldn't have taken up any more room. The whole experience was absurd, made absolutely no sense and was off putting. There has to be better processes in place. Adding that it is 96 degrees outside, so going back and forth with an infant was absolutely ridiculous.

They had eaten there before and this was my first visit. I was impressed with the decor. Seating is generous and the vibe is comfortable. A/C was blasting in a few places. Full bar for those that imbibe. I saw Speedy Gonzalez on the lunch menu, which used to be a Mexican eatery menu staple. The menu is extensive! Service was attentive and quick. The loss of a star is the food, which was mediocre. Oh my! My expectations were not met. My friend's taco salad seemed to be missing the meat with an overabundance of lettuce. My Speedy was unappealing. Taco seemed good but the meat was watery, as were the beans, The cheese enchilada was the most edible with a red sauce on top. The chips and salsa was good as was the unsweet tea. My Speedy and unsweet tea was just over $15 so $20 with tip. I would eat here again, possibly choose something else to try but otherwise I would just consume mediocre fare unfortunately.

I asked for menus to go, and I was ready to place my order. A customer (a Caucasian woman) was paying her bill, and I was asked to step aside so she could finish her transaction. I said "okay" and waited. When the server came back to take my order, her attitude continued to feel irritated. When I asked if I could make a simple substitution, she let out a noticeable sigh, and at that point I decided I would not be returning. I've been in the area for about a year and was hoping to have a better first experience, but customer service plays a big role in whether people come back. Unfortunately, based on this interaction, Tres Compadres will not be a restaurant I return to.
