I dropped in for the all you can eat fish for the first time. I ordered the catfish blackened with fries, grits and ice tea. The fish came out and I asked the waitress if it was blackened because it didn't look like it was. Very little seasoning on the fish for it to be blacken. No real problem I told myself, but when I opened the napkin the silverware was wrapped up in, I found a dirty fork. I walked up to the counter and asked for some clean silverware. The girl gave me another set wrapped up in a napkin. I walked back to my booth and unwrapped the clean silverware which turned out to be dirty. I was upset, but kept it to myself and cleaned the fork with my napkin dipped in the tea. The grits I asked for when I made my order didn't arrive with the plate. It showed up later, but it was coleslaw not grits. I didn't notice it at the time. When the waitress came to my table to ask if I was ready for more fish. I told her the story and she said she would take care of it which I took to mean that she was going to write it off. The meal cost $11.99. I left $12.00 on the table and walked out. Great home cooked meal, very reasonable prices. You really should check their catfish out on Friday nights. It is all you can eat, and is very tasty. Only downside is they are only breakfast and lunch on week nights. read more

wonderful, just wonderful! generous portions, losts of wonderful choices and the taste, well, it cant be beat. Try the cheese grits with your breakfast or your dinner, they are always perfect. and friday fish fry. wow! all you can eat catfish cooked many different ways, not just the same old fried like most places and they have cod also. the place is spotless, the staff is friendly and well trained, i love this place. breakfast is so good, that we look to make early morning appointments just so we can go there for breakfast after. read more

I was passing by from a sales trip on my way back to Miami and saw the restaurant and decided to stop in to get a bite to eat, what a MISTAKE, DON'T STOP keep going I BEG of you. HORRIBLE service HORRIBLE food. The food was tasteless and arrived cold at my table, I wonder why since it was basically dead, there was no one except another couple, maybe the other people had read the bad reviews on YELP and are staying away, I should have read them too. The waitress was no where to be seen maybe hiding away because she hates to work there? When she finally appeared after about 15 minutes I asked for another order since it was cold and tasteless and the waitress got really nasty, at that time I decided to leave and go somewhere else to eat. I went in on a slow day and still was not waited on very quickly but I chalk that up to the one waitress working. The service was ok but I ordered a BLT and I was not happy with the quality of it. NO mayo on it whatsoever and the bacon was overcooked and dry. If they don't automatically put mayo on it , they should tell you that so you can order it that way or as a side. Mayo comes on a BLT. It was a dry. bland sandwich. I have not decided if I am going to try this place again or not. read more

They might not have a sofisticated menu but their prices are very very reasonable and affordable. Food is usually quick too. Staff is attentive but it has its own regulars and niche crowd so you might feel a bit like an outsider. read more

Yes I am leaving update to my review. this place is highly highly overrated .the atmosphere is foul and is very poorly put together. This staff as far as my waitress was awful one of the worst experiences I've had .she looks and acts like a drug addict. The food was not even mediocre .I personally have never made a sandwich that was this terrible .we waited for such a long time for this lack luster food . I explained to the waitress when she came to my table at the end of our meal finally .how the order was wrong she mention the word oh well. usually a wait staff would do something to try to correct the issue that did not happen. we were looked at and treated like we were outsiders. the mood and the service represented that thought .I felt sick to my stomach the entire day after I ate this food. I have never in my life had worse service and such bad food .I can't believe this place is still in business and I'm looking forward for it to be shut down .so other people do not waste their money time or experiences like we did read more

I have been here with my family at least six times. The restaurant is close to our home, and I think we tolerate it because there just aren't many options. They have redone the dining room, added booths, and it looks better. The food is decent, it is diner food, and is usually is not bad. We have waited very long times to eat, and I have to say the service is always very bad. The waitresses linger with guests who are regulars, and are very rude to everyone else. I see this exhibited with other tables, not just us. The owner is usually there sipping coffee, smoking out in front, and has never once come to our table.....in six or more visits. They almost always run out of something and have to send staff next door to Publix, once it was our server so we went without refills our entire meal and had to wait to pay....while she got energy drinks and buns. laughable......you are not missing a thing not coming. read more

Went here this morning, after church, for "brunch", was refused a patty melt because they only serve breakfast and according to the waitress who took the order, "they would kill me in the kitchen if I asked them to make lunch right now" ... since I am not a breakfast person, I just had my coffee while my husband ordered an omelet and toast. We sat and sat and sat and waited for the food to come out and my husband finally was able to ask the waitress to check on his order. She came out of the kitchen and said, "it's only been 20 minutes since you ordered, it will probably be another 10 minutes or so" ... Even if my husband didn't have to get home to get ready for work, we probably wouldn't have stayed. The waitress asked if we wanted to cancel the order which probably meant they hadn't even started it yet. So we left and are 99.9% sure we won't go back. read more

I've been told this place was okay. I went there for lunch today, and let me tell you the service was lousy. It took at a minimum 30 minutes for my order to arrive, when it did it was wrong, I finally just got up and left. The place was not very busy, but the service was slow and wrong. The service and food have totally gone downhill since the new ownership. They prayer wall made us overlook it. Until they painted over it!! Service is slow because they all go out back to smoke. You can get better food AND service down the street. Steer clear!! My mom asked us to go with a group of people from Lakeland on Saturdays for Joshuas Sloppy Joe Special. She raved about how good the Sloppy Joes and Chips were. The first couple of times we went the food was great and the service was halfway efficient because we called in our order on the way to the restaurant (it still took 15 minutes to get our entrees). Recently there has been a big change in customer service and food quality. The manager told us that the restaurant was going to start making their own potatoes instead of buying them frozen after we complained that we were not able to get chips on one of our visits. He told us it wouldn't happen again. We made the trip last Saturday for the Sloppy Joe and CHIP Special (they know that we come EVERY Saturday with a group of 6-14 people) and the 2 baskets of chips that were served were burnt and so greasy that they were not edible. We were told these were the only chips they had because the potato cutter was broke.... SERIOUSLY?! It's too bad because my mom runs the office of a mobile home park and has recommended this restaurant to at least a hundred people and has brought Joshuas quite a bit of business. They have now lost our business and any future recommendations. read more

Ordered a full sized order of sausage gravy and biscuit and a side of hash browns. Gravy had a decent flavor but had about 6 half marble sized pieces if sausage in it. My biggest complaint is that we got a thimble size order of hash browns that cost over $2.00 that wasn't enough to hardly taste. No wonder the bad reviews!! read more

Got there at breakfast 10:15 and left at lunch 11:30!! Got in the door and was greeted with "Welcome to Joshua's sit wherever you like". So now you know I'm here.....right?? We sat at the counter while FOUR waitresses just kept walking by avoiding eye contact now ten minutes. I stopped one waitress and asked for a menu and coffee. She was put out that she had to wait on us letting us know she was not our waitress. So now to ordering we waited for 35 minutes before the food came out. The food was bland. Not worth the wait. The only thing that came out promptly was the check that was left when the food got there. I mean they had 35 minutes to write it up so I guess they got one thing done on time. Now to pay the check I left my card on the check and back to avoiding eye contact ten more minutes!! It's now lunch time!!! They fight over who's table they are getting next, they do not help each other out it's fend for yourself at the expense of the customer, this is not a well run establishment, the food is just plain bland, they act like you are bothering them for anything. We were not the only ones there having issues you could hear the talk thru out the place complaining. Will not be back!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure they don't care one less person BOTHERING them!!! read more
