I visited J'ouvert on Saturday after seeing a reel on Instagram and decided to check it out the day before Mother's Day to avoid the holiday rush. Parking was pretty easy to find with street parking and nearby parking decks available. It's Atlanta so it is paid parking. I had a chance to briefly meet the owner and let her know I found the restaurant through her reel so clearly the post is reaching the right people. The staff was great across the board. Even team members who were not assigned to our table were still helpful and attentive. On Saturdays it looks like they offer an unlimited brunch during the earlier part of the day with the option to do brunch only or brunch with mimosas. That actually worked out well because it took the guesswork out of deciding what to order. My mom really enjoyed the jerk chicken, rice and beans, and shrimp and I can definitely co-sign all of those. Everything had good flavor and the brunch setup made the experience easy and enjoyable. The food is horrible and service is not much better. I have been wanting to try out J'ouvert for a while and finally got the chance to check out their happy hour one evening. Since it was my first time, I wanted to try a couple of dishes before deciding whether or not to have a full meal. I ordered the Cod fritters and the cauliflower. The fritters had absolutely no flavor except for the hummus-like sauce beneath. There was no Cod and the fritters tasted like unseasoned balls of dough. I wish I could say the sauce was at least good, but it was just bland and grainy with an odd aftertaste. The cauliflower was simply battered chunks of cauliflower and the only seasoning seem to come from the overly sweet sauce that it was coated in. To be honest, I've had better versions of this at chain Chinese restaurants and my local dive bar. As for the service: my server seemed uninterested in helping, offered no recommendations when asked and basically ignored me until it was time to pay. I guess that's what's happens when they automatically charge you a 20% gratuity. There was nothing about this experience that would make me want to come back. This was my first time here, and unfortunately, based on the experience, I probably wouldn't return. I was visiting from out of state with family, and we decided to try this restaurant after Apt 4B was closed for relocation and recommended this spot on their Instagram. Once we were seated, we asked our server if the turkey wings were available since they weren't listed on the menu. He checked with the kitchen and came back saying yes--they were available and are typically a weekend special. Great! All four of us ordered the turkey wings. I wanted jasmine rice and fries as my sides, but we were told they were out of rice. I chose mac & cheese instead. A few minutes later, our server came back and said there wasn't any mac & cheese ready. When I asked how long it would take, I was told 30-45 minutes. I asked if they were making it, and he said no and recommended I not order it because of the wait. So I settled for fries. Then, about 10 minutes later, we were told they only had enough turkey wings for TWO orders--not four. At that point, everyone was frustrated, and the other two people in our party had to choose something completely different. The food eventually arrived, and we were able to eat, but the overall experience was disappointing. Before leaving, we asked when would be the best day to visit to get the full menu and experience. Our server told us, "Any other day but Tuesday," because Tuesday is their prep day. That honestly left me confused. If Tuesday is a prep day, why are you open and taking customers when you're not fully prepared to serve the menu? Especially when the restaurant is already closed on Mondays. I understand that restaurants can run out of items, but having multiple menu limitations and then learning that the day we visited is essentially a prep day made the experience feel avoidable. The food here is truly next-level; an unforgettable meal that blends classic brunch with vibrant Caribbean flair. Our table had the Shrimp and Grits, the perfectly tenderized Chicken and Waffles, and their show-stopping French Toast. Every bite was truly delicious. Brunch with friends during MLK weekend. The waffle was crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. It held up to the butter and syrup very well. The bacon was perfectly crispy and the eggs weren't overcooked. Playoff games were on the tv. The music was a little too loud for my preference but other guests were enjoying it! The service was attentive without being overbearing. I was with a party of 12. Food didn't sit to wait on our server to bring it. Other staff ran food out while it was hot. Garage parking nearby was cheaper than street parking. I'm almost never on that side of town but would definitely drop in again and recommend to others. read more

I arrived before my friend so I sat at the bar and enjoyed one of the fresh margs and the service was great. Returned for dinner on Saturday with my Caribbean friends because they wanted to check it out and catch a vibe. They were running behind so I sat at the bar and ordered a drink and appetizer. I had the Oil Me Down again and the Juju Golden Fritters recommended by the bartender Ken. I wasn't a big fan of the appetizer. It tasted like they were missing something. I figured adding more curry chickpea coulis would do the trick, but it didn't. Once my friends arrived, they placed their drink orders with Ken and then we relocated to a table. To be honest, it was difficult to find something on the menu after the appetizer so I played it safe and ordered the Jouvert Spring and added shrimp. My Trini friend enjoyed their doubles. My Jamaican friend ordered plantains and jerk chicken and thought they were decent. Our meal was ok. It was pretty pricey, but then again, what isn't these days. As always, the staff is always friendly and attentive but this wouldn't be my first choice to grab a meal and catch a vibe on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar while waiting for my friend as they don't seat incomplete parties & decided to stay at the bar as the bartender, Shelby was the absolute best! All the staff were great and friendly. I only had the food specials but the dumplings and beef patty were both very tasty. My friend's street corn was plated nicely. They also have Carib beer. We found one of the best happy hour spots right off the Lindbergh Beltline. A selection of $5 drinks and bites from 3-9pm on weeknights and might I say that the selection is worth the stop. We had 5 apps and 5 drinks for $50 on a date. Where else can you do that??? It's also one of the few places in Atlanta that serves Prestige the Haitian beer which my fiancé was super thankful for. We told the staff it was our first time and the waitress was so kind and really made sure we had a great experience. We sat at a table near the bar and the setting is super tropical with fresh plants and flowers throughout. The waitress mentioned the spot is popping during the summers. Anyway to the best part -- THE FOOD! We tried the jerk wings, Jamaican patty, chicken dumplings, street corn and cod fritters. Honestly it's hard to pick a favorite everything was so good I would eat it twice over. I can't wait to stop by for a full dinner experience soon or they also have a bottomless brunch on the weekends! Ms. Necia SAVED MY BIRTHDAY! I came here after a reservation at a nearby restaurant went awry. Ms. Necia saw how stressed I was and went above and beyond in her service--i was SO relieved by the end of the evening! We had the codfish fritters, shrimp appetizer, chicken dumplings & the steak sandwich. The food was beyond incredible. I'm of Caribbean descent and it's been so long since I had codfish cooked like my Grandma's. I had the ginger cucumber cocktail beverage and we also ordered a house margarita. Every single item we had was SO good and they took such good care of us. They even offered to take pictures of us for my birthday. I stopped by to try the $5 after work cocktail hour. This was my first time at the restaurant and I enjoyed my visit. I was greeted upon entry and our waitress was so nice. They had a good selection of menu items for happy hour. We ordered the beef patty, codfish fritters, street corn , and buffalo cauliflower. I think I only paid $2 for an hour of parking. The place is extremely clean on the inside and smells really nice. Both servers were nice as well. So this was a really cool spot to try some Caribbean food. I didn't have any complaints and I did try quite a bit on the happy hour menu (just about everything lol). It's very nicely decorated and there's plenty of staff walking around. You have to pay to park in the uptown area so you're probably paying under $15 for 2 hours. But there's parking right in front of the building so at least it'll be easy to access it, if not, there's other places around and structures around to park at in that area. I came for happy hour and tried a bunch of things on the menu. They have a lot on the menu including food and drinks but I was just coming for the jerk chicken honestly LOL. This will be a cool spot to try happy hour at if you are in the area. The happy hour is from 5:00 to 8:00, so that's a much longer time than anybody else. A lot of times people will try to in their happy hour at maybe about 6:00 or so, but this one goes till 8:00. So this is actually really really good. When I went there weren't a lot of people there, but I hear us the night goes on and as the weekend gets closer to get some a little more packed so keep that in mind. Street corn - The street corn was good. It was not a really big portion, it was basically like a half of a Cobb split into. So aside from the portion it was pretty decent flavor. Jerk wings - The jerker wings were good. They came in about four for the happy hour portion. Now you can get more if you'd buy the full portion, but you have to balance out how much you're getting versus the price that you're paying per wing. The wings came in a sauce that was all over the the plate but to me that it wasn't tossed in the sauce. Because you basically tasted the char on the chicken but not the actual jerks seasoned sauce. So I had a remedy for that but I'll get to that in a second. But you most likely will have to get a side of sauce to help it along. Because without the sauce, the chicken only taste like chicken. Jamaican beef patty- The beef patty was okay. It wasn't anything I would go back for. The meat. Seemed like it was super seasoned and hot and fresh, but the pastry didn't seem like it was hitting on all cylinders. It tasted almost like it was store-bought or something on those lines. LOL. I'm not sure, and I couldn't put my finger on it, but something about the pastry seemed a little bit odd. It wasn't terrible but it was just something different about this that stood out in my mind when I was eating. Chicken veggie dumpling - the chicken and the veggie dumpling situation was really really good. They were fried a little hardrer than what I would like them but they were very flavorful and the sauce that they gave was amazing. They came with four of them for the happy hour price. Now here is what I mentioned earlier, the teriyaki sauce you get with the dumplings goals on everything. We went on a Saturday for brunch about 11:30 and at that time it wasn't busy but as 1p rolled around it became a pleasant busy. For the brunch menu they offer buffet style cuisine. The jerk chicken was good, tasted more like a rub than a sauce. The rice and peas, fish, and shrimp and grits were perfect. They also had bacon and pancakes and other side options. The bottomless buffet was $30 or you could get bottomless mimosas deal for $50. They serve the regular menu on other days but for Saturday morning it will be buffet style. We parked in the garage across from the Marta, Lindbergh Station, it costs $10 but there is 20 min parking up front. The walk was short from the garage. They had a live DJ which he played great music! The whole place is cute, clean, has a full service bar and specialty drinks. The staff were so nice and accommodating. A friend and I had lunch here during happy hour on a Tuesday and the entire experience was delightful. Our waitress Necia was exceptionally hospitable. We couldn't narrow down what we wanted from the happy hour menu so we followed her suggestion and ended up having everything. My girls and I saw an IG happy hour promo about J'ouvert and decided to give them a try! This restaurant sits amongst the newly renovated area right near the Lindbergh Marta station in Buckhead! There's a parking lot just down the street and a few steps around the corner. From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped by a warm, cozy and inviting ambiance. Unfortunately, walking in just around 7, we learned the advertised 5p-8p happy hour time was no longer in effect as it ended at 7p. As we sat and contemplated where we going to go since happy hour had ended, our server, Necia, appeared with her soothing gentle voice and presented a flawless detailed description of the menu and how the dishes are prepared. Without even trying, she won us over and we decided to stay! Her genuinely warm and heartfelt service continued throughout the evening and I could tell she truly cared about making our evening special! The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection! I especially loved the Yahd Man Jerk Chicken! Each bite was tender and moist! My friends had the snapper which they thoroughly enjoyed! Our meals were a delight, and the presentation was impressive! This could have easily been a 5 star dining experience but I had to deduct a star due to the happy hour issue, no parking validation and the price point. J'ouvert has been on my list to try for quite some time. Finally found time to make a reservation and it wasn't super packed a great time. We came on the weekend our server was working every table that afternoon. In the midst of being semi-busy she found time to give us great recommendations. The J'ouvert mimosa was the perfect mix of strong but good. My boyfriend ordered the steak and the first pass was very dry and overcooked based on the temp he requested. We ended up having to send back and even the second round we requested a side of sauce to amp up the flavor. The oxtail though....complete opposite! It was AMAZING. No notes. The oxtail was tender, it had a great flavor, and definitely something I've dreamt about and will be returning to get again. All in all, we'll be back to try more items. I hadn't eaten all day, so I ordered everything on the happy hour menu except the beef patty. Then the server came back and said the cod fritters were sold out... my soul deflated like one of those TikTok balloon dating challenges. After devouring the wings and street corn, it was time to get back to dancing--Zigga Zoww Zagga zow Lol. The cauliflower tacos were incredible! So I really have no complaints about J'ouvert (pronounced zhoo-vehr). My girls and I visited on a Friday night for a late birthday dinner and weren't disappointed. Our server's name was Nikki (not sure of the spelling), and she was wonderful. The drinks we tried were the Paint + Powder, J'ouvert Paloma, and the Rum Punch. All delicious and I'd order them all again. The After Work Fridays specials are good. It looked to be a good selection of what I assume are their medium-to-most popular appetizers and cocktails. From that menu, we ordered the Spicy Jerk Wings. We got the Cheddar and Jalapeno Cornbread as a second appetizer. For Entrees, we ordered Jerk Chicken w. Rice and Peas, Teriyaki Steak w. Fries, and Escovitch Snapper. All very good! The only downside to our visit was a very large event going on in the restaurant at the same time, with a loud DJ and a large crowd of people standing with a party vibe. I didn't drop my rating of the restaurant though, because I understand that's not their normal ambiance. Parking is in the parking deck/garage as the whole area and the restaurant is right across the street from Tongue & Groove nightclub. J'ouvert has a DJ beginning at noon on the weekends for brunch. The music had a Sunday lounging feel and was low enough to hold a conversation. DJ Supreme even asked us for feedback on the music level, which added to already high-quality service. The menu features a fusion of flavors from Africa, India, and China and also reflects owner Tasha Cyril's experience growing up in St. Lucia. We Ordered: Paint and Powder: Grey Goose Citron, Guava, Mathilde Pear Liqueur, Lemon Juice Hennesssy Blueberry Lemon Pancakes Veggie Tacos Yahd Man Jerk Chicken Rice and peas The Paint and Powder Is the type of beverage you force yourself to slow down drinking because you know it has deceivingly high levels of alcohol. We did not have a bad bite - everything was a high note. I generally do not like guacamole. But this guacamole, with its notes of lime juice, garlic, and onions was so smooth I would order it again. My husband is a pancake connoisseur and he loved the lightness, fluffiness, and flavor of the pancakes. This is the worst Caribbean restaurant in Georgia. I visited this establishment today for brunch and 1. The coffee machine didn't work, who has brunch with a broken coffee maker. 2. I asked for my waffle to be cooked light and they still delivered a burned waffle and said the waffle maker can't cook it light. They need Waffle House training. 3. Don't eat the carrots, it had some paste on it and when I pointed it to the manager she said "what's paste?!?" Then ignored me and walked away. Not worth the money at all. Being a Trini, when I first heard there was a restaurant named "J'ouvert" it automatically made the list of spots I had to check out. The restaurant is in an area that has ample paid parking options and when you walk in the space isn't large, but they made good use of the space, and there is a decent amount of seating. I must also say, they did a great job with the décor and different colors. The bar is very small, but I sat there and did the bottomless brunch which came with bottomless mimosas (FTW!). The brunch options were also decent, with some items being better than others, but the true star was the Hennessy Blueberry Pancake. I put a combination of the blueberry sauce and the passion fruit sauce on mine and it was delicious! Jordan was my bartender and he was phenomenal! Friendly, attentive, and efficient. Great happy hour option before a show at the Fox. Park at this Marta station (Lindbergh - for free) and ride 3 stops down to the North Ave station. The food and drinks are so much better than what is close to the Fox for a last minute dinner, and you'll have way fewer people to deal with. Much as I love to support my black owned restaurants. Some of you all have to do better. You want to charge $12.00 for this little azz slice of cornbread but yet I have to drink soda out a can. Not to mention the host/service was a bully and lied and tried to argue us down about ordering it. You charge so much and offer so little when it come service its a shame also please train your host/server ( JD ) restaurant etiquette and to think you charge a 20% service fee and don't even have receipt paper or offer service worth that price. PLEASE START PROVIDING THE SERVICE WORTHY ENOUGH FOR THE OVERPRICED DISHES YOU CHARGE. And also please work out a partnership with Coke' a customer shouldn't have to pay for two sodas just to have them mixed. Had a pretty terrible experience. The host was incredibly rude. While I was sitting down at a table he said I had to move to accommodate a larger party. He didn't have any other seating options so basically I was left with no other option but to leave. I believe this restaurant has a lot of potential but the customer service needs improvement! Unfortunately I won't be returning here any time soon and will be advising friends and family to eat at the other restaurants in the same plaza. read more

Thank you Taylor and Jordan for your service! Had a great Saturday morning here. They opened a few months ago - not super busy YET! No wait to be seated. We had the buffet which is $50 per person which is great. Bottomless mimosas included. As a business owner I recognize the small details and I commend this business for just that - decor is thoughtful and vibrant. Food is tasty and made my palate happy. I was excited to experience J'ouvert, and the ambiance did not disappoint--it's a beautiful and inviting space. I ordered the Jerk Chicken meal, and the flavor was excellent--very bold and satisfying. However, I was disappointed with the 40-minute wait for our entrees, and by the time the food arrived, it wasn't as hot as expected, which took away from the overall experience. My friend ordered a side of macaroni and cheese in addition to her meal, but it didn't arrive with the rest of the food, and there was no communication about a delay. We had to ask about it, and only then was it brought out--after she had already finished her meal. Even more frustrating, there was initially no acknowledgment of the mistake, and she was still going to be charged for the side. While they did offer her a complimentary virgin beverage as compensation, it felt more like a bare minimum gesture than genuine customer service. Our waitress was kind and courteous, but I believe the situation could have been handled more professionally. Instead of accepting responsibility, the oversight was blamed on a meeting at the bar. However, our orders were placed before that meeting even began, so the explanation didn't hold up. Overall, the food had great potential, and the atmosphere was lovely, but the service experience left room for improvement--particularly in communication and accountability. read more
