The wait was beyond long and they ran out of cornbread! They offered garlic bread, which was good-but not what we were hoping to eat. The valet is free but the attendant held my door open until I tipped him, so not really.

This place has valet parking. The parking is free but you should tip the valet. We didn't reserve a table so we needed to wait 15 minutes before sitting. We were celebrating a birthday so we ordered a lot. We got a Dusse flight (mango, peach, strawberry, and blueberry). The drinks tasted great and were quite strong. We ordered two appetizers (lemon pepper wings and salmon bites). The lemon pepper wings have honey and they are wet. The wings taste amazing. The salmon bites are breaded and come with a pretty good sauce. The bites are dense. I like them as well. I ordered the braised turkey wings with collard greens and mac. Everything tasted great. I have never had a bad meal here. My family got the salmon alfredo and shrimp. That tasted good as well.

Out of town and wanted a good Sunday brunch. Complimentary valet parking, and walked in and up to the bar. Great R&B playing in the background and ambience very relaxed and homey. Service was phenomenal - Jessica was quickly attentive at the bar, offering great suggestions and help for us to try as many different things off the menu. Now...the food.... Flavor, heat, speed you can't beat it. Will come again.

Stopped in for brunch with a friend and we had a good time. We had a reservation and only needed to wait about 5 min to be seated. Parking is complimentary valet. Once seated our server was attentive. I got the Apple French toast and it was tasty, with a side of the whole wings. They were fantastic. Overall I would visit again. The vibe was family friendly during the day

Drinks were great as the bartender had a heavy hand. Lol. The food was amazing and very flavorful. Restroom needed a little cleaning but it was okay. Free valet parking but we tipped our parking lot attendees.

Roc South was rocking some good R&B music upon entering, always a plus for me! The decor is classy with shiny chandeliers and bright decorative lamps. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. Shout out to our server AMANI C. she was very polite, attentive, and did not miss a beat! I love how she made sure our table stayed clean and kept the drinks flowing. Now the food let me break it down. Appetizers; Salmon bites great, but those Honey Lemon Pepper Wings will have you licking your fingers! Entrees; The Whole Snapper was perfectly seasoned & cooked just right! The Salmon Entree was so delicious, topped with Lemon Butter! Sides; Greens cooked with turkey is still melting in my mouth. The Yams were ok, needed to be sweeter. As for the Mac & cheese I was a sooo disappointed, tasted dry and bland. Side notes: The temperature inside was too cold for me, so make sure to cover up. Valet is available, service was quick, but it's optional. Overall, the vibes and service made it a great night out!

Before we could even get in the restaurant, the valet parking was backed up. Management was notified and the owner/chef immediately came out and assisted. The valet was free so we offered to park ourselves to assist. The restaurant is small, but decorated so pretty. The staff very friendly & our server, Erica W. was amazing. * Honey Butter Biscuits: 15/10 HAD to be somebody grandma in the back making those from scratch *Smothered Turkey Wings: 6/10 it gave Caribbean, not Southern; wish they were a bit crisper; seasoned, but heavy on the peppers *Mac & Cheese: 10/10 creamy and cheesy; seasoned perfectly *Collards: 8/10 needed cornbread; seasoned good & cooked with turkey meat *Sweet Tea: 15/10 SOUTHERN & GOOD Things to Note: -Small restaurant and parking area -Daily Specials change -Sodas are in glass bottles -Service charge included

Roc South is one of my favorite Atl restaurants! The food is SO good! Nothing like some great soul food. We had a party of 7 so we had a hour wait but the atmosphere and music made it seem quick. The server did an amazing job with taking care of us. I had the salmon pasta dish which was fantastic! I have tried the fried chicken dish in the past and it didn't disappoint. I was glad that I made this suggestion to the group.

Went to Rock South around 6 PM on a Wednesday and got seated right away which was a nice start. We ordered the Fried Salmon Bites as an appetizer and they came out really quick. They were hot fresh and crispy but still juicy. For the main course I had the Fried Chicken Wings with mac and cheese, collard greens ,and candied yams. The wings were seasoned really well and fried to a perfect crisp. The mac and cheese was good and creamy and the collard greens had great flavor. The candied yams were way too sweet for my liking. My friend got the Blackened Salmon Alfredo pasta. The alfredo could have used a bit more flavor but it was still enjoyable and the salmon was juicy and cooked well. The only downside was the wait for the entrees. It took a while for our food to come out after the appetizer but the restaurant was starting to fill up. Also the restaurant was overall clean but we did have to deal with a few gnats and flies at our table which was a little annoying. Other than that it was a good experience and I would go back to try more of the menu.

Food was really good!!! Definitely hit the southern soul food craving. The fry on everything is yummy and really crispy, while the meat inside stays juicy and tender. The stew that the oxtail comes in is so delicious I was dipping everything into it. The restaurant is cute but kind of brightly lit -- I would appreciate more of a romantic vibe. Overall, I had a good time. Our server Karma was efficient and accommodating. The cheesecake was just okay, I would go somewhere else for dessert next time.

I can imagine this place packed on Friday

Everything was fine and tasty except for Cobb salad had wilted lettuce and was sent back. I would recommend this southern cuisine... but not their Cobb salad

I've been to Roc South a number of times and this was the first time on Saturday night that I've visited that it was not crowded. Immediately I knew my experience would be different. We had reservations so we did not have to wait long. PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS. There was a small wait to receive cocktails after ordering but the food came out quickly. The food was amazing. I ordered a veggie plate which consisted of cabbage, mac n cheese, candied yams, and mashed potatoes. The only thing that could have been better was the wait staff. It was not as crowded but there were gaps in service of us needed water and receiving condiments. We had to ask for condiments three times and never received them. I was disappointed that they did not have the salted caramel cheesecake. The vibe is always nice at Roc South. The aesthetic is not too casual and not bourgeois. It has a good balance to serve all types of people.

Took some friends when they were visiting Atlanta and wanted soul food. Shandra assisted me over the and was really nice. We came on a Friday right when they opened to avoid the rush. All of our food was delicious. We tried fried chicken, shrimp, yams, macaroni and collards. I'll definitely be back.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

WAS THIS A HIT OR MISS ???…read more It was a HIT I have been dying to try this place out for years and I figured I planned a lunch with a friend so we could spend the afternoon chitchatting and this was the perfect spot. So we were warmly greeted and then taken to a quiet table in the corner that had the whitest tablecloths. It looked rather chic Then we had the best server. She checked on us numerous times, didn't rush us and offered suggestions. She kept our table clear of mayhem from empty plates and glasses. Now the food was delicious. It was so good. The chicken was moist and the outside was crispy. The mashed potatoes melted in my mouth. Plus, we had a slice of 7up cake for dessert. I high recommend this place. They have valet parking that is only $2. Great place to visit. Until next time.

Location Carries, Great for Clients, Not for Value…read more Location, location, location. That's the story here. This spot earns its 4 stars largely because of the setting and service. Right in the heart of Buckhead with a beautiful view great energy, well-dressed crowd, and a strong place for a work lunch or client meeting. Service was solid, no complaints there. I'll keep it simple the food was good, don't get me wrong. But for the price, it just didn't match up. This is one of those places that works if you're trying to impress clients or enjoy the atmosphere. Strip away the location, and the food-to-price ratio probably lands much lower. Just my take. Overall: 4/5 great setting, just comes at a premium.
