My husband has been raving about this restaurant since it came to west midtown. He's been at least 2-3 times with friends for drinks and small bites. This time we went for dinner with our girls. He wasn't as pleased with the food this time. We were the only guests in the restaurant around 7pm on a weekday. The staff were all kind. The waiter was new, but he was able to get help when needed. The food was not what I expected. The roast chicken was dry, and the kids didn't enjoy the yuca fries. The chicken nachos were ok - the plantain didn't seem freshly cooked and overall it lacked flavor. I may consider trying the restaurant again on a day with more guests.

Shrimp ceviche with fried plantains and a side of Djon djon.

Menu selection is really good. I will have to come back to try more things. Place is spacious and comfortable. I had the shrimp ceviche.10/10 recommend.

Jerk Chicken Salad and Rasta Pasta

First timers here and the experience was amazing. Our server was nice and helped me picked my dishes as I was stuck in between what to get. Me and my boyfriend had the Rasta pasta and the jerk chicken salad. Everything was amazing 10/10 would definitely recommend and come back. Only thing is I wanted to sit on the patio and couldn't due to short staff, everything was spectacular.

This was one of the best Haitian's restaurant I've been to. The food was very tasty and the drinks were fantastic. My husband and I went for our Ann during happy hour. We will be back!!!

    Dry tasso cabrit

We went for our monthly link upndinner and decided on this spot. My friend had previously gone to the Smyrna location and raved, so we met in town. Let's get to it. Kennedy was attentive and a good bartender and server. They were doing half off of drinks fkr happy hour, so that was a plus. The appetizer (salmon dip) was bland but fresh. My main course (Tasso Cabrit) came b out dry and rock hard, possibly old, so I had to send it back. They remade it and albeit fresh, it was bland. The manager, Gus, cane out to speak with us. He was genuinely concerned and comped the entre portion of our meal. Over all, I won't be returning. I hope they are able to do better in the future. As a Haitian - American, this was disheartening. Just wanted to show a transparent review.

I can confidently add La Difference to my list of go to Haitian restaurants. The fact that it is…read morealso a bakery led to the five star rating. The food quality and quantity also are contributing factors. The artwork throughout including history pieces on the origin of the Haitian flag, and a prominent display of leadership which included my great, great, great, grandfather brought joy to my heart! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which consisted of kabrit (goat), Djon Djon rice, green plantain and salad. I did request extra pikliz and gravy, as the gravy doubles as my salad dressing due to the rich flavor. The ample portions allowed for two additional meals, which were equally delicious as the seasoning marinated additionally. Everything was fresh. The rolls I purchased were soft to the touch and I was assured that they were baked that day after inquiring. They reminded me of my father, also of Haitian descent, and the bakery in South Florida near parent's retirement community. My dad would take me there and we would get fresh Haitian bread and rolls. Truly, one of the best nostalgic moments with the reminder of him and the delicious food. The location provided ample parking, and was not crowded when I first arrived. I placed my order after looking at all the offerings, including jams and other Haitian baked goods. Although I was assured that my food would be ready in about 15 minutes, it was closer to 30. Several people came in after me picking up large orders. My order taker acknowledged that my food would be ready soon, and I appreciated that. Thankfully, I was not in a rush. Do keep that in mind when visiting, and ordering in advance may be an option. I will definitely return to try my other favorites, including griot (despite limiting pork intake...smh) and legume. Truly pleased to find a great Haitian restaurant in Gwinnett. Shout out to the Tik Tok person who brought it to my attention in her post!

This is a Haitian or creole restaurant and boy have I been missing this yummy food since I have left South FloridA! The food was amazing!! You can see the old-school people in the back cooking and making your food to order. I had fried turkey with rice and beans which you can get on the light lunch special for 899. However there was a bit of disconnect which was the loss of the star in language barrier from the young lady at the cashier. Additionally on top of the language barrier you could tell she got a little frustrated so if you order be sure to point to it on the menu also so there's no confusion. I said rice and beans the first time she gave me white rice then I said lunch and she gave me the dinner. And that point I just paid for it and kept it moving but it was worth it all at the end when I tasted the food because it was definitely off the chain!! I definitely recommend you make it part of your repertoire if you're in the area Because I'm sure I'll be going at least once a week! Love supporting small business owners and even more so yummy food for a great value!
