In the end the quote was not accurate and the contractor wanted 2000 more, this quote did not even include AFCI breakers at that price which Alex let me know were required for my job. Going with the cheapest quote was inaccurate, not up to code, and now costing me more. Alex spent his valuable Sunday evening to go over how I can resolve this billing dispute with the other contractor. I am sad I did not go with him, he was the most accurate quote, knowledgeable and said the extra work I was charged for was likely unnecessary. A tenant an issue with an old outlet that was on the outside of the house. The outlet had been…read morethere before the GFCI outlets were required and there was a short due to the tenant plugging their EV to charge during those heavy rains in November that caused the outlet to stop working and fried the tenant's charger. Fortunately there wasn't any electric fire or shorts at the house's electric panel. My brother put out a bid on Yelp to find a capable electrician who could replace it at a reasonable cost and we decided on taking a shot with J Powers Electric. They showed up at the time of the appointment which is a big plus in my book and they gave me an estimated time of completion barring any unforeseen complications. The current outlet was replaced with a brand new GFCI outlet with an in use weather cover and everything went smoothly and quickly. I'll definitely put J Powers Electric on my list of electricians to reach out to get bids for any other electric related needs I may have in the future.

These guys were one of the few that could handle the concrete work, and they also handle all the permit work as well. Everyone was really friendly, from the receptionist on the phone, the staff and the people giving me estimates. It's been more than a year since I got my EV charger installed, and I haven't noticed any problems since then. Price-wise, I feel it was pretty fair especially considering how they made everything so convenient. All in all, they did everything well. I'd have no problems recommending them to others, and will likely go back to them when I need other things addressed in the house.
