Stopped Sunday evening around 4 for the first time and left with a few extra bottles to add to our collection! The service was wonderful and everyone was welcoming. Shannon was great! I prefer reds on a daily basis but I was extremely impressed with their whites here. Very crisp and balanced, not too sweet or buttery. Plenty of parking and large outdoor seating area! Dog friendly as long as your dog is on leash :)

We stopped here for a wine tasting for a bachelorette and had the BEST time! Chris was so kind and gave us great recommendations for where else to visit while we're in town.

This is an absolutely beautiful winery in a serene setting! The place inside / out is well decorated and is very warm! The staff is very friendly, professional and welcoming ! I will Most definitely stop by every time that I am in the area to visit my daughter ! Being from California and Canada - I have tasted many many wines and the varietals offered here are very special - some of them I had never tried ! Great experience !

Lots of options for seating and social distancing, even on a hot day in August

Went here on a weekend in August last summer when they had Music bingo going on, lots of social distancing options, and fun to see the information on how they promote Green initiatives in their vineyard. Trying all the wines was really fun and for a good price! We also bought wine slushies which were delicious and I bought wine of my favorite sweet options! If this were closer to the KC area, I would go here often! I loved it!

Closed For Total Solar Eclipse Event (August 21, 2017)

Jowler Creek Winery is dog friendly (as long as your pet is kept on a leash and mild mannered. Please note that there are some lifestock on the grounds. If your pet is unable to handle themselves, it may just be best to leave your little 4 legged friend at home). My husband, our little girl and I stopped by this winery on Monday, August 21 for their Kansas City Eclipse & Sips festival to view the total solar eclipse. This winery is not normally open on Mondays, but was open for this special once in a lifetime phenomenal. This winery is generally populated by locals and a lot of the people we met seemed very excited and surprised to find that we are from Los Angeles and traveled all this way to come to this small winery. Anyways, with general admission to this festival ($25 prior to tax/ person) came 5 flights of wine to try. I ended up trying the following: Vignoles. Butterfly Blush, Red Cock a Doodle, Muskrato de Missouri, Solar Sangria (only made for the special festival). I thought the Red Cock a Doodle was okay and the Muskrato de Missouri was a little better. But the solar sangria was perfect. The fruity flavors really made the tasting enjoyable, as all the favors went well together (who can say no to sangria?). Too bad I couldn't get a bottle of the sangria to enjoy back home. For general admission wine tasting, you had to go line up under the tent to get your tasting. The pours were sadly not very generous. The organization was a miss as well. There were 3 lines, but not properly labeled for what line does what. One line was for those to purchase bottles of wine, where you can also do a wine tasting. The line at the end was also for wine tasting. But there was also a line in the middle for wine tasting that no one seemed to be going to (as it seemed some what hidden behind the 2 long lines). Restrooms for general admission were portapotties. I never used it during our visit, but my husband said it was clean when he used it. There were also portable sinks with soap and paper towels to wash hands after use of the restroom. The grounds of this winery was clean, but since it was raining and pouring most of the time we were here, it was pretty muddy. The owners' dog Vignoles (same name as one of their wines, how cute) walked the grounds and greeted people sitting outside. Moving from one group to the next, she eventually found her way to us. It was so cute when she and my little girl dog nosed each other (aww....). Vignoles is a sweet and gentle dog and am glad that our little girl got along with her. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to be have a place to view the eclipse, while drinking wine, in a place that wasn't too crowded. By the way, this winery only has a small modest menu of food items (cheese, crackers, meat, etc). Visitors are allowed to bring their food onto the property. And on occasion, food trucks are parked her to sever visitors, along with live music on weekends.

While we were visiting family in St. Joe, we ventured out to several wineries. This place was very nice. Wine tasting was very good. Staff was friendly and informative. They had a lot of nice novelty items for sale as well. We purchased a few bottles to take back home to MA. Muskrato de Missouri was delicious!!!

Went for a Saturday night live music event when passing through KC for a vacation. The property is beautiful with lots of outdoor seating options. The wine slushees were pretty yummy too, especially on a super hot afternoon. The local food trucks was a nice touch as well!

I'd had a groupon for quite awhile and just got the chance to use it. We went for one of the wine-tastings/pairings. The owner was the one giving the presentation and he was very knowledgeable and down to earth. I loved being able to get outside and see the farm and learn about their sustainability efforts. The wine was all good - DH and I bought two bottles: sweet white for him and dry white for me. The prices were very reasonable ($15-20 each) and as part of the tour, you get to keep the glass. I look forward to going back - they have several events every weekend and it would be a fun place to visit with friends.

    Very small tasting

All the wines were pretty good- I ended up purchasing 3 bottles. Checkin before you walk in the winery- so you can use the free 7 wine tasting! The amount of wine for each tasting was extremely small- so it is better to get the free tasting with the Yelp checkin!

This is the actual sample size from the tasting we purchased.

We were in town from Florida visiting friends and they suggested we come check this place out. We opted for the wine tasting for all of their wines for $7 (they have about 7 wines). We got our first sample, and it was maybe 0.5 oz (barely enough to even cover the bottom of the glass). The first sample we each had wasn't even a full sip! We went to wine #2 thinking maybe they were just low on the first wine... happened again so we asked if for the remaining 5 samples we could just choose one of the remaining 5 and have a "super sample" of that one so we had enough product to actually make a decision on. Nope. Basically we were going to get MAYBE a quarter glass of wine for $7. Nope. So we just left. Wasted time. The photo shows the "wine tasting sample size."

Beautiful tasting room! Lots of cool lighting, interesting tables and fun decor. The ladies who helped us were very nice and knowledgeable about their wine. I'm not normally a Midwest wine girl, but I did like their Traminette and Sarah found several wines that she liked. It is safe to say that we all enjoyed our time there. They also have some very fun gift items for sale and some cigars made by the local cigar company in Weston. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area and had live music while we were there. We would definitely like to go back and enjoy the atmosphere and just hang out!

Although I don't live in KC, I am intent on trying all of the great, local businesses whenever I find myself in this area. As a lover of wine and frequent winery visitor, I was excited to find Jowler Creak Winery early on a Saturday afternoon. They were hosting a wine tasting with baby animals (I think the animals were advertised more for children), but of course I had to go! Wine and bunnies? Sign me up! The land and space of Jowler Creek Winery is beautiful. The staff was extremely welcoming, and indulged my desire to play with the bunnies in between tasting their wines. I was impressed that they were the first green winery in Missouri! I enjoyed the tasting and left with a bottle of my favorite: the Traminette. It seems from the website that Jowler Creek frequently holds events to get patrons and families visiting regularly, which is a fantastic way to bring in guests (especially us out-of-towners!). I look forward to visiting again when the weather is warmer.

Farm to table, right? How about farm to table AT a farm's table?…read more Green Dirt Farm offers up an array of choices from their artisanal cheeses and pair those with a number of other agricultural offerings from Missouri. Their sheep's cheese has that tangy, yet savory, bite to it and marries well with any number of wine varietals. Missouri, and Weston in particular, produces climates and days of sun similar to those of French wine regions, so the vines produce a wonderful fruit suitable for bottling. Plus, when you add in other items to your wine 'n cheez, like sausages or local honeys, it's a party all around. We love to get a charcuterie and a couple of drinks, be they wine or local beer products, and find a seat outside. If you aren't sure what you want, then the friendly staff is more than willing to offer suggestions or other service. The tables out front, on an autumn day in particular, give that rustic feel that underscores the farm to table experience. Handy intel: If you are outside and you do get something sweet (think jam or honey), then you are bound to attract friends. The buzzing kind. Green Dirt Farm also has a fabulous selection of sammiches as well. I love the 'Ruby Don't Go Bacon My Heart', a grilled delight of local cheeses and crumbled bacon, served with a strawberry jam. It's SUBLIME, and you may regret sharing. And don't miss their handmade ice cream, with flavors rotating seasonally and always worth the indulgence. Wine, locally made goods, and even locally raised meats like lamb are sold in the shop, and you just can't leave empty-handed. It's super easy to find if you're coming in from the east, like off the 435 loop. Parking is where you want to park, seating is easy outside and even some inside, and the value far outstrips the price points. Stop and get some local artisanal goodies to go or order from the menu and stay awhile.
