This place is the real deal and very kind/compassionate. I did a lot of research on a place which specialized in all sorts of traditional Chinese medicine techniques to get the best possible treatment. I came in for sciatica pain to which western medicine doctors were saying to take steroid injections. This place solved the problem In one session. I had some emotional distress due to a close family death and they told me I was holding emotions inside, the acupuncture for the leg consisted of needles in my face, hand, leg, and stomach. I have been going to Joy Acupuncture Clinic twice a week regularly for about 18 months. Initially I went in because of my adenomyosis. Treatment has a been a combination of moxibustion and acupuncture. I feel she has really helped me keep adenomyosis in check. Walking with a limp due to foot surgery has not been an easy recovery. I turned to acupuncture for help in loosening my muscles and I'm so glad that I found this clinic. I've had a lot injuries through out the years from dancing and they are always miscellaneous and far from normal. Joy, however, used a lot of techniques to find the exact spot to treat. She basically gives you this heated message at first which allows blood flow to your injury point. Then, she uses eastern medicine (which is highly interesting) to trigger blood flow from an opposite side of your body to the injury point. I highly recommend Joy. I been going to Joy for years for all my body troubles. I wasn't a believer of eastern medicine until I couldn't dance anymore from all the injuries, but Joy put me back on the floor! This is the best treatment out there. I've been to many different chiropractors with plenty of visits I can't even count on my hands. None of them have helped me out with their western style of technology to help you. It was not until I came here that my pains finally are starting to go away. I work at Costco and stocked the store for two years every day. I developed a painful neck injury over the past five or six months. I would feel the muscle vein. Extremely sore and feeling fatigued. It would also have a tingling sensation that was extremely discomforting. After my first visit To this acupuncture clinic I felt an extreme difference in the constant pain I would suffer from daily. She used the needles in my leg to help fix my neck and I thought it was extremely fascinating that she could fix my neck through my leg. She also taped the seeds to my ear telling me to massage the ear when I feel pain. Three visits later and I am now feeling amazing and am continuing To go here for other issues such as the minor fracture I have on my foot that causes me pain quite often. Very Satisfied results with my ankle. I had it sprained 5 years ago and been taking cortisone injections. It kept coming back with bad swelling and pain to a level that I need to wear my brace all the time. Nothing shows up in the MRI and xray. Pains like these are weird and not easily diagnosed. The doctor here dealt it in a nice way by creating circulation all through the leg. Results very amazing. I finally see a progress after so many years. She gave suggestions on the diet and how to strengthen the muscles. Friendly place and the treatment works. Worth a try for soft tissue pains and nagging issues. I have shoulder pain for more than 20 years and tried physical therapy, message...everything I can think of. Whenever I get stressed or didn't sleep well, the pain would come on my shoulder and even make my right fingers numb; I would suffer for a month or so. There is a lump on the shoulder. I have seen Dr. Kao for about 8 times by now. After the first treatment, the pain spot is just disappeared. I totally trust her and extremely grateful for her capability. I have been seeing Dr Kao (Jessica) for a few months now. I am a 65 yr old man who has a number of age related opportunities and have utilized Chinese medicine and acupuncture for decades. About 30 years ago I injured both knees in a volleyball game. The doctor went in and "cleaned out" stuff in the right knee. However, I've always had an underlying problem with my knees. Of late, my right knee has become a serious problem. I had an MRI done and it confirmed that the meniscus is worn and they want to do a knee replacement. I'm not eardy for that just yet. A week ago I was having trouble even walking. I went in and saw Jessica and she worked very hard on my knee (and a small problem I was having with an area right below my right ankle.) What a great job she did on both spots. For days I was pretty much pain free. But, I tweaked the knee and the pain came back. Not as bad before, but still painful. This week I went back and she worked her magic once again. This "magic" entailed her working very hard prodding, asking questions, doing whatever she deems necessary to help you. She is the only doctor in all the years that worked on both the problem area and the related acupressure point. For example, the inside of my right knee has a related point on the outside of my left elbow. Who would have thought! But, she would press on this related area and ask me if it was sore and I'd confirm it was. Needles would go there as well. She tailors herb remedies specifically for your condition(s). Her knowledge of medicine is impressive and she is continually taking classes to expand her knowledge base. Today as I am writing this review, my knee feels very good. I had a wrist injury a few years ago and tried various treatment. Ultrasound, physical therapy, deep tissue massage, you name it. I did not think of acupuncture before until my friend Joey Kao told me that his mom owns a clinic and I should try it out. His mom is very nice and asked me where the pain was on my wrist. She found other parts of my body that had tightness as well the I was not even aware of. The process was quick and painless. Some people think acupuncture is scary due to the fact of many needles on your body. It is not as bad as it seems. Most of the time I felt just a tiny tap on my skin. The worst would be a prick but that is about it. She then would put seeds in my ear that would help relieve the pain as well. It was different than traditional medicine but I felt very relaxed and experienced the "acupuncture buzz". Mrs. Kao even does after hour treatment at her house as well! How legit is that?! MAN! Me and my girlfriend would go there and Joey would be so excited. He's always about his diablo 3 and still is along with bboying and magic. After six to eight sessions I was virtually pain free. My wrist would hurt from time to time but it is not as bad as before. Unfortunately I injured my shoulder on the job recently. I am about to be done with physical therapy and now it is time to give acupuncture a go again. For those who want to give acupuncture a try, you will not be disappointed!
