On this trip to Florida, we tried the other joys plus, we were near it. The Giant is crazy big!!! 3 large scoops enough for 3 people. The triple chocolate was rich and creamy. The heath bar Carmel was good. The chocolate peanut butter was solid. This place was great we tried a bunch of flavors and would definitely go again and again. My favorite flavor is Purple Rain, which is black raspberry ice cream with regular and white chocolate chips. But Joy's has so many other yummy/creative flavors, and they give you a lot for what you pay for! I especially like how the sherbets/sorbets are separated from the rest. And they have a really good sherbet/sorbet variety in itself! You can also get ice cream "to go" which is kind of funny to me just because I've never seen any other ice cream place do this before. Maybe I just haven't been to many ice cream places. 1 star off because they always seem to be out of flavors, like they were with Purple Rain last time I was there :( and because the interior/location is kinda dingy - it's nestled in a Winn Dixie plaza in mainland Ft. Pierce so there's really nowhere picturesque to go to enjoy your ice cream unless you'd like to walk outside and stare into a parking lot read more

My 3yr old wanted 2 flavors but in a single scoop cup because there is no way she could eat 2 scoops wince the portions are so large and at first I was told I couldn't do that but then the manager said is it for her? There was a young lady helping who made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her but there a was a young boy who was friendly to the other customers. All I wanted was mint chocolate chip and they were out which honestly broke my heart. They had a ton of options but the heart wants what the heart wants. Anywho, we had the marble crunch and it was very tasty. They have a ton of flavors! We got a plastic container for 4.95 (pint). I will be back for that mint chocolate chip. If you want amazing made in house ice cream this is the place. Family owned and operated (always someone from the family on site) I am loyal to Joys. We found it by chance and go back once a week. Their Almond Joy ice cream is to die for and my wife's favorite. As a matter of fact we went on my wife's birthday and they were out of the Almond Joy. She told them how disappointed she was because it was her birthday and they said they were making it it just was not completely frozen and if she didn't mind it soft they would get it from the back. Now that was great service and made her birthday. Huge portions no matter what you order. I always get a two scoop sundae and even the hot fudge is home made. My only complaint is they are not in PSL. Oh and too many choices in flavors. You have to go to Joys! read more

It doesnt seem to have even affected this store. It always has a line out the door when we go. Will gladly stand and wait. Usually no longer than five minutes. After looking at reviews, we decided to try Joy's to satisfy our ice cream cravings. What a great decision! There are about 4 cases of ice cream and sorbet options to choose from as well as a decent amount of cakes. My boyfriend chose coconut and blueberry hill. The coconut was just as expected, smooth and creamy with bits of toasted coconut (yum!). The blueberry hill needs a review just on its own. It's vanilla ice cream mixed with blueberry filling and pieces of blueberry muffins...yup, BLUEBERRY MUFFINS! This was unlike anything we've seen before and the flavor did not disappoint. If you like blueberries or are in the mood to try something different, we definitely suggest this flavor! I went with peanut butter crunch since they were out of the chocolate peanut butter swirl and I also added a scoop of treasure chest. The peanut butter crunch had great peanut flavor, vanilla ice cream mixed with peanut butter Oreos it seemed. The treasure chest was vanilla ice cream mixed with snickers, m&m, Twix, Milky Way and 3 musketeers. The portions were also beyond anything we have seen, you really get your money's worth here. I just wish they had a location in Kentucky! They are family owned. Not a huge chain. They have awesome and interesting flavors. I have tried several. I enjoyed batter up, peanut butter crunch, and my daughter loves their rainbow sherbet. They stay busy because they are the bomb! I am certain one day they will be bigger than baskin Robbins.
