The food here is amazing and well priced. The atmosphere is welcoming and the seating layout is nice. I'm not sure how busy this place gets because I visited here later at night when most of the extra seating areas were closed off, but this restaurant is definitely a great place to try! Only giving four stars because the waitress I had wasn't too nice and gave us dirty looks. However the lady bringing food from the kitchen to the tables was so sweet, and made up for our experience with the waitress. read more

Visiting from out of state, after a long drive, we stopped by Joy's Tavern for late eats. Service by the waitress was little to none. Never welcomed to the establishment. Found our own table in the dining area. Located our own menus to review. Waitress never introduced themselves. "Did you decide want you want?" Never received napkins without asking. Actually, had to utilize the restrooms to wash hands as the waitress did not return to the table. Ask for the TV channel to be changed, never addressed. The topper was that the water glasses were refilled with hot water as the ice melted instantly. The waitress seemed more engaged with their required server closing chores. Definitely, shared a more generous service tip than the service deserved. Suggest a little staff training, because a successful restaurant will not be successful without patrons. read more

Now don't get me wrong the food was great. We got their pizza pretzel nuggets, boneless wings, and their French Dip sliders! If it was just based on food we would have scored this establishment a 5 star. The server we had was very friendly and was working incredibly hard! He was great! Unfortunately, we got there at 6pm and didn't receive our food until around 730pm. The restaurant was very understaffed. Pre-pandemic we enjoying coming here, the food was consistently good and fresh, and service acceptable. My biggest gripe was the lack of lighting, as it's very dark inside. They do have upper/lower deck dining in season. However, in the few times post pandemic we've dined in as well as gotten take out we were less than thrilled. Recipes had changed and short cuts were made to existing dishes we loved. Prices increased by about 35-40% and the sizing size decreased. I know these are lean times and some increases are needed but I am disappointed that they changed some of their best recipes. The last cuban sandwhich I got was so bland, and not edible or enticing, I had to take it home and doctor it up. It was cold and not toasted, lacked the traditional mayo/mustard mix Cuban's are known for, was on a soft roll different than before, and undersized. For a $14 sandwhich I shouldn't have to do a thing, as that's the whole purpose of take out! Three stars because I'm hoping they get their act together and go back to their old ways, but honestly it will be awhile before I give them another chance. SIDENOTE: back lot parking is limited and very, very tight, however we've parked in the Amtrak spots, there's also street parking out front. read more

Horrible restaurant!! Food is poor quality, rude waitress, rude bartender. Owner has no care in the world for her customers. Employees smoking cigarettes while making food and handling food that is being served to customers. A certain waitress Melissa was so nasty and swore at us for not giving her a 30 percent tip. My brother told her if you want a tip at all you should treat your customers with respect. That restaurant has no clue on taking care of customers. read more

Was at Joy's last week and it is a nice place to meet a group of friends after all of this time of the sheltering in place. I tried the wing with maple and powdered sugar and wings with parmesan cheese and garlic. Each had the possibility of being a great bite for the night...unfortunately the seasoning of the actual chicken was lacking. The external flavors were good but the actual chicken was bland. I took them home and was to see if they are a second day meal. I was correct. You need to give the favors chance to be absorbed into the chicken. A suggestion maybe brined chicken is a possibility? There's a lot of other items on the menu so I am sure I will be back there again. So one chicken doesn't kill the vibe of the space...hope to see you there. read more

Went there last night with a few friends for their 21 birthday we wanted to try new bars. We went in there and there's a sign that says seat yourself so we did. The waitress come out and says we are shutting the dining room. We were like that's fine we are so sorry and continued to apologize. Then she had an attitude and said uh that's fine just sit down. We stated we weren't going to be eating just getting some drinks she then said well than if that's all your getting you can sit at the bar. The food was okay, and the service started out good, but the server was visually annoyed and said I don't know how to do that about one of us asking to add an egg to their burger. We asked for a few things on the side and she showed she was annoyed and huffed while writing it down. This made all of us feel uncomfortable and like we were bothering her. She also refused to tell us the kind of pepper that was in the hot sauce after trying to claim it was jalapeño and we said can you ask because it was very hot. She then said she couldn't share it to protect their recipe, which is a little concerning that she just named a random pepper to begin with. The food wasn't worth the bad service. New restaurant in Mt Joy. The food is pretty good. I wouldn't put it over the top, but it's got the staples of a tavern type eatery. My favorite menu items are the tuna melt sliders. They are out of this world. I also love the sweet potato fries. They are served with powdered sugar and a cup of syrup to dip. One thing to note is self seating. There is a front and back door. My husband and I were in the mood for wings and decided to give Joy's a try. Both of dislike our wings soggy and sitting in a pile of sauce so we were nervous about how their wings would be served. We both asked for extra crispy and my husband ordered the medium wings and I ordered Cajun honey (my own concoction not on the menu). They were happy to make mine how I wanted which was great. We also order the fried to share. The fried we're fresh cut and served with a dipping sauce, I of course chose ranch. Their ranch is house made and is fantastic! The fried were yummy and the wings were perfect! Crispy, hot and not soaking wet or lying in a huge puddle of grease. You have no idea how exciting this was. We will definitely be going back for our wing fix! My only complaint is one that I know there isn't much that can be done about but it still put a 'chill' on our experience, the dining room was cold. Granted it was in the teens outside but every time their front door is opened all the cold air rushes into the dining room. If only there was a way to prevent that. We would have preferred to sit in the bar area as that seemed warmer and there is no immediate door leading to the outside but it was full. It won't prevent us from going again but it may make us think a little more about where we sit. read more

Service was great and remained that way through a busy incoming lunch crowd. With one bartender/waitress it was impressive how smoothly she kept things going. Went to joys a few weeks ago about 830 on a Saturday night. Place was not very busy. We had to seat ourselves . We waited 20 mins till somebody came and brought us menus and took a drink order. We got our drinks about 15 min later. We then ordered an app fried pickles. When we got our app we ordered our meals and more drinks. Took another 15-20 mins for those drinks. We waited an hour and a half for our food that never came . So we asked waitress if we could speak to manager. We waited 15 mins and nobody came so we left. Would give this place a zero rating if I could and will never go back. Better choices in mount joy that will compete and try to please for our business. read more

Excellent wings. Blue cheese dressing a little runny, however full of actual blue cheese and great flavor.

The inside is very nice. Everything was clean. Beer was cold. But the food was mediocre at best. My fiancé and I went for food before the dinner rush. We were the only people there. We ordered wings, fries and a cheesesteak to split. Ordered our cheesesteak with SOS, it came out with it on. Wouldn't have been a problem, but the sauce was terrible. Like something you would get with a box of frozen mozzarella sticks from the grocery store. They did bring us a new one. The wing sauce didn't even stick to the wings. I would go back if only to watch football and have a few beers. But I wouldn't go back for the food. read more
