I used JP Diagnostics on 3/17 and followed Jarrod's recommendations used a contractor he recommended. Some leaks were repaired others still leak. The contractor followed Jarrod's recommendations and when they didn't work he blamed the contractor. Which means if Jarrod gets it wrong he will never be accountable and you will continue to spend money on repairs that you may not have needed in the first place. Jarrod was suppose to set up a meeting between the 3 of us and it never happened. I worked with the contractor myself and Jarrod walked away and stopped taking my calls on 3/28/18 with another year left on his warranty. Jarrod's service's are a waste of time and money take your chances just using a waterproofing contractor. Response to Jarrod's post. You did not recommend what you posted. I have your report you did not recommend removing all the bricks and waterproofing the substrate the only thing you recommended was repointing or using a sealer after your other recommendations failed. I would love to see the emails you are speaking about with this new recommendation. I don't care how many text you get if someone's spending their money on your services you need to respond I had another year left on your warranty and not responding is unprofessional. Imagine that for some crazy reason a company like Apple or Google or Tesla decided to jump into the leak detection business. That's how I'd describe JP diagnostics, because they leverage cutting edge technology and are light years ahead of the typical contractor in terms of their thoroughness and professionalism. When other contractors came to look at the stubborn leaks in my property, they basically stared at it for a few minutes and said something like "Gee I don't know, it could be this, it might be that . . ." From JP Diagnositcs I got a an extremely detailed and professional looking report that looks like it was prepared by a Wall Street law firm or investment bank with infrared photos etc that appear to pinpoint the exact cause and location of my leaks. What's more, Jarrod took the time to discuss his report with me at 10PM -- that's a refreshing change form the typical contractor that tends to bark at you and ask you if you know what time it is if you call them after 4PM. My only caveat is that because I just received the report yesterday, haven't had the chance to implement the recommendations contained therein. However, I'm highly confident that the report is accurate. It's much like when you read an article in, say, The Wall Street Journal, where you don't personally verify all of the information contained therein, but you still know that it's accurate. That's the way I feel about the report I received form JP Diagnostics. I only wish that the company offered a broader range of services -- they appear to focus on leak detection -- so that I could call upon them more often, as they are truly a pleasure to work with. Jarrod from JP Diagnostics investigated a structural leak in my condo building in Brooklyn. Jarrod and his team are trustworthy, professional, and timely -- a combination that's very hard to find in New York's construction and contractor industry. Jarrod returned calls, was on time for appointments, and was thorough in his investigation. We've had other contractors look at the same situation, and within minutes they start with unfounded theories, ideas, etc. In contrast, Jarrod started by collecting data and thoroughly tracing the water leak through the building's structure. During the investigation, he explained what he was seeing but avoided going into hypotheticals or speculation. The report that JP Diagnostics provided came within a week. It was clear regarding their conclusions, and Jarrod was available to take me through it on the phone. That was the only time that he provided additional ideas and suggestions based on his expertise with situations like ours. I found these to be useful and valuable (and they did not immediately call for us to spend more money with him or related entities -- a good sign). I contacted JPD after getting referred by a roofing company that was unable to figure out where my leak was coming from. JP was very responsive through e-mail and arrived on time for the appointment and paid for his services accordingly. In terms of his services, his diagnostic was completely wrong and almost cost close to $10,000 on getting a window waterproofed when the problem was actually the flashing of the roof. It felt like he was rushing to leave and didn't bother going up to the roof to do his scan. I would probably recommend him for internal leaks in bathrooms. Our 8 unit co-op has wasted so much money. We put in a new roof and waterproofed our walls yet we are still left with leaks or rather floods in most of our units. We hired JP. Jarrod of JP's biggest asset above a thorough, complete and thoughtful report,  is that he is a decent human being.  He has never been late and is actually always early. He is completely respectful to each unit he enters. He communicates clearly and promptly. He diagnosed the interior and exterior thoroughly and came multiple times when the results were unclear. I have already recommended JP to 3 of my friends' buildings.  As a co-op board member, I have to deal with every type of contractor and JP continues to be at the top of my list.  They have even extended our guarantee as Covid/Omicron life during winter made it impossible to continue actual repair work. Jarrod continues to answer questions patiently and promptly as we are preparing for repair. Jarrod's kindness and decency, I think, will create gratitude and loyalty in his clients. In a previous review I gave one star. It was based on JP Diagnostics's inaccurate attributing a drain system failure to our building which does not have a drain system in the area they analyzed. They will correct and rewrite their report to reflect it was the drain system in the building contiguous with ours with whom we share a common wall. We have used JP Diagnostics on two separate occasions so they really deserve 2 reviews from us....But, I was slow to write the first one. Jarrod came out promptly when I was at my wit's end with a continuous bath tub leak/ repair cycle. Finally, I looked up waterproofing and he came up! What a brilliant technology! I was being offered to rip out my brand new bathtub, breaks walls and closets- and with some quick pictures and diligent report, Jarrod saved me from all that! He identified the exact area where the water was cascading, what needed to be done, and knock on wood we are going on 6 months with no leak from that tub! Now, we developed a strange leak on our first floor apartment. Directly above the leak we have, a fridge with a water line, an HVAC AC unit, a washer dryer, and a bathroom adjacent to that. Four possible culprits! This would be maddening. I quickly remembered JP Diagnostics and called them for help. Guess what? NONE of those were the culprit! The leak was coming from 2 AC units on the 3rd floor!!!! I would have never figured that. The way the water is cascading down, it is bypassing my 2nd floor ceiling and going down to the first. If it wouldn't be for Jarrod and his team, this would be an extremely expensive proposition looking, probing and figuring out this leak! I don't have enough words for a thank you. Only that I hope I won't need to use you guys again, but if I do, I will always remember to call you first! I couldn't be happier with with JP Diagnostics, from my first phone call to my last. The company is knowledgable, and extremely affordable. Jarrod was on time, professional and courteous. The company uses some really high tech equipment and Jarrod was more than thorough. He actually found two seperate water leak sources coming from the apartment above mine that we didn't realize was occurring, which makes complete sense now. The reports that he gave us in conclusion were so accurate that our insurance company even made comments on how impressed they were. 2.5 stars. I have water coming up through my basement floor but was confused about how to fix it. I contacted JPD and talked to a staff person who said they'd call me back. They never called me back. I called back 5 days later and made an appointment. In the first five minutes of walking into the house, before performing any diagnostics, the owner of JPD recommended cleaning out the basement drains ("Why don't you just clean them?"). He then conducted infrared diagnostics and drone pictures in about 30 minutes. I received the report 7 days later, along for recommendations to contact either a roofer, a waterproofer, or a contractor to clean the drains and drainage pipe. It cost $500+. I replied, asking why this would not be more appropriate work for a plumber. No answer. I also wanted to understand the relationship between the tests and the recommendation. Most of the report was full of boiler plate language. No explanation for the relation between these tests and the recommendation was forthcoming, just: "That's what we concluded." Of the 2 recommended service people, one (the roofer) called me back. He confirmed what I suspected: cleaning the drainage pipe is a job for plumbers, not roofers. So I called Roto-Rooter to clean out the drain pipes. It has helped but not completely. I thought initially that the owner was a nice guy and would have considered hiring them again, but then I received a patronizing, passive-aggressive reply suggesting that I had voided my warranty by posting an honest review. I am disappointed by JPD's lack of professionalism and inability to communicate clearly and kindly. It says quite a bit about his judgment that he would post such a reply while admonishing me for not contacting him privately. read more

Don't do anything with your leak until you call Jarrod. We wasted thousands of dollars "fixing" our leaks to no avail. Once we found Jarrod he found the leaks and prescribed the repair. JP is a life saver. He's been to our house twice now, once for the basement, and once for a leak over the front door. The first time JP came over, he spent over and hour examining and photographing the basement, then got back to us 2 days later with a thorough report. Since it was a complicated issue, he came back to our house to explain the issue in person, patiently answering all our questions until we understood exactly what was going on. Having the report was so helpful- we could send it to contractors so they knew exactly what the problem was. No needlessly tearing apart the house to try to find the leak. The second time, JP came over to check out the front door, did a thurough examination, and got back with the report quickly. He even recommended a couple contractors to get quotes from. When the initial fix didn't work, he came back free of charge, met with the contractor and me at the house, and continued to problem solve. JP looks for the RIGHT solution, not the most expensive or the easiest. He's also great to work with- arrives on time, responds to email quickly, and stays with you until the problem is solved. M Coaxum I have a leak in my condo apartment in three different places. The leak in my unit is off and on. Jarrod came in and took pictures of my entire apartment. He was very courteous, professional and showed empathy for my plight. During one of our hurricanes this past summer, rain was coming into my apartment very fast. I became upset and called Jarrod that Saturday. Nia was kind enough to inform me that the report was sent to me the day before. The report showed several origins of what could be the source of the leak and several repairs that needed to be done. We reached out to JP Diagnostics on the recommendation of a waterproofing contractor who we had come out to look at our home, which needed to be waterproofed. Jarrod has been terrific to work with - prompt, honest, and very helpful. We realized the extent of the issue with his infrared analysis, which has been instrumental in helping us to determine where to focus the repairs. We haven't yet embarked on the repair process, but he has assured us that he will be available to help. We had two options for his service - either pay leak by leak or do a whole-building package. I've personally recommended Jay at JP diagnostics to over a dozen customers of mine, as the owner of Royal Renovators Inc. a roofing and siding company. When we can't find the leak, we call JP. A previous customer of ours had received an infrared report from JP and sent it to us for help fixing the leak discovered. I and our team were so impressed by the level of detail of the report, where the water was coming from, which direction it was traveling in, and JP incorporates his own knowledge to give advice on whether it's the roof, or masonry, or what. So it's not just a thermal imaging report, it's that plus advice which is a huge premium. For a few hundred bucks, you'd be penny pinching and stepping on your own toes to not call JP to find and diagnose a leak before hiring a contractor, unless you believe the leak source is so obvious or you want a full replacement of the area. JP comes out himself to personally do the infrared test, he doesn't hire others to do the on site work while he secretly possesses all the knowledge and experience. If you call and he doesn't answer, he may be on site, if you want his services leave him a voicemail. This company is AMAZING. I have lived in the same 9 story brick condo building for the last 18years and we have ALWAYS had water leak issues. Every year we replace roofs, remove decks, seal cracks, seal bricks ... etc ... always in search of the magic repair that will stop the leaks. I called JP Diagnostics to detect a leak in my community. The community is not large. He came out a few weeks later and did his test. A few days later he sent a very detailed report as to where the leak is. I hired a contractor to repair the leak. When the contractor came onsite, they found the leak to be over 100 feet from where the leak was reported to be by Jarrod of JP diagnostics. When I reached out to Jarrod he got real defensive and unprofessional. He feels he completed the job, he did provide a service but unfortunately he did not pin point the leak we were looking for. He asked me to email him and he said he will speak to his partner to see if they can do anything for me. After multiple emails and phone calls he has not responded back to me. Two weeks later and still have not heard anything. I don't usually post on here but Jarrod's unprofessional approach and the fact that he could not detect a leak 3 feet away from where the water was coming out of the ground has me on here. read more

We were purchasing a 2-family house in Brooklyn but were having doubt around the basement foundation water leak fix the seller was supposed to take care of. The stained wall and skirting boards were painted over just 2 weeks before closing and it was needless to say very difficult to judge whether there's an active water leak or not by just looking at it. We brought in JP diagnostics - Jarrod is excellent, accommodated to our last minute needs for the assessment (literally one day prior to closing) and used his non-invasive toolkit to take infrared photos in all questionable areas.
