After just one month and multiple classes, I was able to quickly grasp the fundamentals and feel confident on the dance floor. The instructors--David, Jennifer, Alek, and Mary--along with Majesty's team of TAs, are incredibly experienced, patient, and supportive. Most importantly, they make the experience fun. The studio is spotless and the the owners Nicole and Lauri are outstanding; they know your name, they acknowledge that you are there, they make you feel valued and they start and end the class on time. Please keep in mind that this review will be about these classes. I think it's incredibly generous to offer this trial as it allows you to check out several types of dance styles and instructors. They have an app, which I found to be really easy to use. They clearly label which classes are part of the trial and provide confirmation and reminders. The schedule accommodated work schedules and if weekdays were too tight, they had classes on weekends as well. They have 3 studio rooms and they had a person checking people in which could let you know where the class you were taking would be. One studio was large and the other two were about half the size. Each has its own bathroom which was nice. I tried a few Bollywood classes, Latin dance, a barre class and a Tahitian class. While the Bollywood cardio and Latin classes were the most popular, the instructors were all very patient and energetic. The Bollywood cardio class wasn't geared to really teach moves but more for you to follow along as best as you can and hope you get it before the next move. My personal goal is to stay on beat and try to get 60-80% of any class I take which I was easily able to for the classes. There is plenty of parking and the rooms are clean. When I have some discretionary income I'll definitely come back to buy a package so I can keep shaking my groove thang.

What truly sets Studio K apart is the instructors. Every single one of them is insanely talented, highly trained, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The instructor cancelled the class via an Instagram story, but he never notified us directly. I do not use social media, and the if I did, i would not glued to it every day looking for an update on his story. When I requested a refund, his response was incredibly rude. He insisted on giving us credit for a future class that is not even scheduled yet. I said no thank you and explained that I preferred a refund since we were left waiting at the studio with zero notice. When I insisted on my money back, he told me he would just take me off his interest list. The lack of communication was bad enough, but his response to a completely reasonable refund request was entirely unacceptable. I definitely would not recommend. Also, still have not received a refund.

I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots. There are paid spots across the street, but it's tough to find a free spot, so leave yourself some time.
