Best little sandwich shop around. Their specialties are all fantastic. This is a must go to stop every time I'm around Canfield.

Stopped here for lunch. Saw a premium cheesesteak grinder on the menu board. I was asked what size & what kind if cheese. Little did I know I ordered a $12, 8" sub with barely anything but but bread has meat! I couldn't taste the cheese, green peppers, or onions! That was because there was barely any there! I spent $16.50 on a sub-par "grinder" and a malt milkshake. At least the shake was good. Just imagine spending that much on lunch! I wish I hadn't waited to eat it until I got home, I would have asked for my money back! Highway robbery for the worst sub I've ever had. You think they would know better! read more

Huge selection of sandwiches! We enjoyed everything we had here. Took a star off because I did ask my daughter to grab my water bottle out of the car and was told "no outside food or drinks in the dining room". It's not like I wanted to bring in a 2 liter of Coke, and if we sat outside on the patio in the direct sun, I suppose there would've been no issue. Just seemed very odd to me. read more

Typically this place is pretty good. This most recent visit was unfortunately pretty bad. We came in about 5:30 and waited 15 minutes for service at the counter, they stated they were busy. Once we were helped I tried to order a pepperoni roll, but they let me know that they close at 6 and that it takes 25 minutes. However, it was the attitude of the workers that was completely unacceptable. Ended up not ordering anything at all. Won't be back. read more

Our first visit to this location after reading about them in the food groups on Facebook. I got a Sausage roll, the bread was amazing and it was cooked well just lacked meat and cheese inside for the price. My wife got a tuna sub that lacked tuna and had a lot of onions on it. A cool local location which was worth supporting, for the price and amount we might try this again. The desserts did look amazing however. read more

Next on the docket- JR's grinders. Mind you, I have visited this place many times in my travels, but in true quest fashion, went with the "surprise me" option. The surprise sandwich was a philly cheesesteak, which didn't wow me, but was still very good. The almond joy milkshake was enjoyable, but didn't have the same flair as previous visits. Maybe an off day, or maybe just the wrong surprise... idk. Today's breakfast with them was solid- a breakfast wrap with all three meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. I asked for an order of French toast sticks as well as a large coffee. The FTS were enjoyed thoroughly by all in the group. read more

This place sells grinders, subs, malts and shakes with a 1950s / 1960s diner theme. They have a lot of different types of grinders available that you normally don't see in a sub shop. For instance, The menu featured hummus, sushi, chicken Cordon Bleu, barbecue, buffalo chicken grinders/subs, which you typically don't see at other places that generally have the common lunch meat varieties. With that being said, I did end up ordering a typical lunchmeat sub because that was the craving that prompted me to seek out a sub shop for lunch in the first place since I hadn't had a sub in several months. It was very good, but in the future, I would order the next size up from regular because I do have a large appetite. They also sell Katy's Corner ice cream in a variety of flavors. I didn't get a shake, malt or ice cream though because I didn't want it melting while I was eating my sub in my car. My order was taken in less than a minute from the time I walked in the door, and I probably waited one or two minutes while they made the sub, so service was fast. read more

Good sandwiches/subs. Made to order and they are a nice bunch of folks that work there. Haven't had a shake or smoothie yet. As soon as I next go there. Place has a nice steady flow of customers, which pretty much ensures you will get fresh lunch meat and whatever. Enviroment and speed pull this place down. Place is tired and needs remodeled. If remodeled it needs done so to increase efficiency and create a better atmosphere and seating that falls in line with the dinner style. Very slow getting our order. Nothing fast there. Menu is difficuilt to follow and read, too busy and too colorfull, eye dont focus on items when the text is centered as they have it. Smaller menu is blury and again difficuilt to read. There doesnt seem to be cohesion in the various options.. subs, ice cream, floats, all just plastered around. The good part is the food itself. Like what we got, when it eventually arrived. If you plan on getting a quick bite during lunch time. Forget about it.... The bread reminded me of eating a leather football. I sat down after ordering and a large group walks in shortly after. The large group got their food and drinks before I did, as well as another table that I noticed was already finished with their food and they didn't even get their milkshakes yet! Best subs around! They really take the time to make a quality product the way they toast their buns. They have many specialty subs on the menu but they''ll make whatever you want. Very cool shop too - it's decorated to look like a 50's diner and they play oldies music. The owner is really nice to all the customers. They are located very close to a high school and they attract a lot of students from there so just be aware that it can get crowded at times. read more

This place is down the street from my parents and a favorite when we need something quick. The bread first off is amazing -I usually go with the wheat. The italian sub with the special sauce is amazing. I want to try more but always seem to get that one. My boyfriend has tried a few others and liked those as well. We also love the potatoe bites ( they call them something else) and the sauces you can pick to go with them- I wish more came in an order bc they are so good. I had Icecream before which was pretty good - they have a ton of flavors to choose from that can also be a milkshake. The people are friendly and quick to make your order. read more

This is a great sub shop. They also have ice cream and shakes, salads, hummus, soup and cheesy tots. The bread is awesome and they toast it as well as the wraps if wanted. They have tons of different subs to choose from or make your own as well as specialty subs. Jack the owner is the nicest guy. Recommend this shop to everyone for lunch or dinner or party platters. Just got a grinder there for lunch today. Fast, good food, nice old school atmosphere, and pretty cheap. It was $5 and some change for a specialty, regular size sandwich. Stopped there for lunch today because I was working nearby. Got a grinder for me and for my friend. Neither of us had ever eaten there, He is a fast food kind of guy and I try to eat a more healthy diet. I like to try independently owned restaurants like this so we gave it a go. The rolls they served the sandwiches on were really good, we both got the whole wheat. However, it stops there...All either of us could taste was the sauces we requested on our sandwich. There was so little meat and what was there was chopped up so fine, I actually thought they put rice on my sandwich ! The cheese and tomatoes were slice so thin they were actually see through. Ratio of bread to meat was very high. I almost forgot the coleslaw that comes with each sandwich. It was in a condiment size container and barely half filled ! I will admit the service was good and the staff very friendly but that is not enough to make me give the place a second chance. read more

Visiting from out of town, thought I'd try something local that I can't have back home. The sandwich was tasty but nothing special, prices aren't awful but not great. Ended up paying 12 dollars for what was essentially half of a hoagie and a small milkshake, didn't come with fries or anything like that - left somewhat hungry still. Milkshake was VERY thin, taste was pretty good but texture wasn't. Workers were very nice. Overall probably wouldn't return. read more

Not a bad thing to say about this sub shop. Never even knew it existed, but will definitely try to make this place a household name. The outer appearance of the building throws you off a little, I think it used to be an old ice cream shop. Regardless, I highly recommend eating at this place. The owner was working the cash register and he had a great personality. Younger guy, very polite and helpful. I asked him what type of dressing would go good with my sub and he immediately suggested the Chipotle Mayo which complimented my sub perfectly. He kept thanking me for thanking him and always made sure everything was satisfactory. They have over 30-40 options of subs and tons of toppings to add. I got the Turkey with Roast Beef and Swiss with lettuce, red onion, banana peppers, and the chipotle mayo. What sold me was the bread, which I must say is the best bread I've ever tasted. They butterfly the bread and grill it face down so when you get your sub, the bread is warm, fluffy, with a little bit of crunch that adds a nice element. I'm telling you, you don't need teeth to eat the bread! The toppings tasted fresh and added a nice crunch. The sub was prepared gourmet, with a lot of meat, and the toppings were neatly compiled on top. Add in the fact that the sub was only $6, and this place is perfect.
