Placed our to go order in person, waited 30 minutes for it to be ready only to be told then they didn't have the chicken I ordered. They did refund that part of our order, but they need to improve their ordering process. Haven't tried the meat we did get yet because we are now at another restaurant ordering food to go. We expect a few hiccups opening week, but 30 minutes to wait to find out they don't have what we ordered is excessive. Additional comment after getting home: they messed up the order of nachos. Ordered online and the food was ready when I got there. The young lady at the cash register was very nice and ensured I had all the things I asked for. The BBQ here never disappoints. Tonight was baked potatoes with brisket. We have also previously ordered the sandwiches and fish, all are awesome! My family came in on a Friday night. I didn't feel like BBQ, so I opted for the Smoked Sirloin Burger. It was exquisite. Like going to someone's house who is an expert at grilling (smoking, in this case) the ultimate backyard burger. Soft, fresh bun, too. The crinkle cut fries were a great side. All the meats we tried were tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. The jalapeño cheese sausage and banana cream pie were the best I've ever had. The employees and owners are super friendly and the owner, JR, was personally going to each table to say hello and to make sure everything was to our liking, and it definitely was!! Oh man it's good!! They even gave us a free sample of their beef ribs which were amazing as well. Simply AMAZING! I'm a big BBQ FAN. When I see a new BBQ place I love trying them. So many BBQ establishments don't have that great BBQ FLAVOR! JR's has great flavor, tenderness meats and most importantly passion for his BBQ! His BBQ sauce has a unique sweet taste that you can't find anywhere else, which is one of the two important things that makes the best BBQ. I'm not sure if JR has any additional BBQ sauce flavors but if not, it's understandable and it's really not needed. Was looking for something different...the other barbecue places in the area, including a national brand, were just not cutting it. The brisket is wonderful and loved the sauce. You can get lean brisket or some the fat on it....the fat for sure, is where it's at....and there is not a whole lot of fat. Did not care for the potato salad. I like mustard potato salad. Had the two meat plate with brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage with fries and coleslaw as my two sides. The brisket was good however as some have commented it was like roast beef without a smoke ring or smokey taste. The brisket was fairly lean too so unlike other BBQ places there wasn't a choice to get lean meat at a price markup. The sausage was good too however I would believe that it's a prepared sausage bought from a food distributor as it tasted like any other BBQ place. I did like the portion sizes for the meat. Fries were good as was the coleslaw. If you get the coleslaw mix it up and the dressing was at the bottom of the container. Also tried the brisket stuffed potato. Swimming in butter and filled with brisket. Was very good. Not a fan of sweet baby rays BBQ sauce which is what is provided in little containers. Would appreciate a homemade BBQ sauce.
