An unexpected afterwork venture to Mi Pueblo tonight turned out to be a pleasant experience. We were seated right away and had a good view of the Futbol game, which Mexico won, with a few fans seated around the bar having so much fun. Our server, TJ, was spot on with service. We were served chips and salsa to start with, which was just ok. We chose nachos with beef as an appetizer and beef fajitas for our meal, which we split the best we could. There was plenty leftover. We finished with flan. A very good meal with a fun atmosphere and great service. The only drawback was my drink, an old fashioned, full of ice. One big cube is all that's needed. This place has been a neighborhood favorite for many years. We have been a few times. My dad moved nearby so I took him for a margarita and a light meal. He loved it! He immediately took another one of our family members the next week. Our server was an older, thin, glasses, Hispanic woman. She was amazing! I wish I had gotten her name. Drove by and saw this Mexican restaurant in my city so we thought we'd try it. Ordered Carne Asada--supposedly it's ribeye. It came with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce and a bowl of beans. The carne asada was not seasoned at all. They could've at least marinated it with soy sauce or something so I had to mix it with the condiments that came with it. It came with tortillas but I ate it without it. Didn't know it was "fajita style" since the menu didn't say it--it just says Carne Asada. The bowl of beans was good and seasoned well. Husband had the 3 tacos --2 beef and 1 shredded chicken. He said it's ok--nothing extra ordinary. He had it on hard shell that keeps on breaking. Chips and salsa were good. We were offered 2 more salsas--the spicy green one and another mild one that came in (temperature) hot freshly made. Giving 3 stars for the exceptional service of our server Patty. She was great. Ambience is typical Mexican restaurant playing Mexican music. Lots of tables and booths; spacious. Could be loud but bearable. We probably won't be back. It's been years since my last visit. I was glad to see the chips, salsa, and frozen margaritas are still good. This is one of the few restaurants that provides a large, generous bowl for their warm, crispy chips. It seemed like we never ran out. The crispy beef taco was very good, much better than my last visit when the shell was stale. The service was fantastic. We didn't want for a thing. However, the al a carte order of single beef and chicken fajitas was a disappointment. The dry seasoning overpowered the smoky grilled flavor it should have had. So, the food is still hit-or-miss, but considering the chips, salsa, margaritas, and service, I'll give it an extra star this time. read more

It's been a while since we've been here and I must say it didn't disappoint. We sat in the bar area which was lively with an older crowd which we enjoyed. We ordered the beef fajitas for two and it was well worth the money. The fajitas had good flavor and cooked perfectly. Each of us had a plate of all the fixings and the flour tortillas were great, not store bought. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we didn't run out of anything. We've driven by this restaurant countless times and never thought to try it however we had company that wanted Mexican so since it was close we decided to finally give it a go. We are glad we did. I'd say it has true "Mexican" offerings like mole but the overall it was more Tex mex. Everything we tried food wise was delicious- we tried a margarita but I would skip that as it's way too sweet and not at all balanced well, this is why I gave 4 stars. 01/08/202- Friday 7:50 pm. The parking lot was packed. A good sign we hoped. This place came recommended by a friend who lives in the area. We are seated promptly and a very healthy bowl of chips and salsa are presented to our table. The chips were light and hot. The salsa was so fresh, I ate far too much of both. Per usual when we try a new place we split a meal. The fajita enchiladas. They are cheese enchiladas with fajita meat on top, steak and chicken in our case. The plate was generous but not because the food was lacking. The fajita beef was tender and smoky. The fajita chicken not as good a tad dry and not as flavorful. The rice and beans were very good. Comes with guac, sour cream and pico. All fresh and had good flavor. This place was better than expected. The service was punctual and efficient. He refilled as soon as we were out. Although the enchiladas were not to my liking we will be back for sure, I can't wait to have the steak fajitas!! read more

I'm a fan of Mi Pueblo. It's close and convenient to work. I've eaten here several times with coworkers and friends. My favorite dish is the chicken mole. It is so good. It has a nice heat to it and a delicious flavor. The chips and salsa are also nice with the salsa being quite pleasant and not over bearing like at some places. Finally the margaritas are great. So I met some friends here about a year ago and I can't say that I liked what I got a lot. It wasn't bad but I just don't think I was poised to ever return, but I was in the area with some other friends and it came up and I was feeling like I wanted some Mexican food. Thus we decided to go to this one since it was right across the street. I remembered a lot of the reviews spoke about the fajitas so I knew if I ever came again I was going to get fajitas since that seem to be one of their specialties. We ordered some just regular beef nachos that had the beef and bean on them. OMG these were the best nachos I have ever tasted, the chip stayed crispy and the cheese was just over top this spicy beef and the bean like made it stay in place. My mouth is watering as I'm doing this review. They gave you a lot it had been about 10 to 12 chips so it isn't the stacked kind it's the flat type of nachos which I prefer, I shared the chicken fajitas with one of my friends. They gave you a lot for the two person fajitas. The chicken was fresh and very seasoned. It came out sizzling with peppers and onions. The set up had sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, and cheese. They gave you the option of corn and flour tortillas or both, so we chose both. The chips were fresh and the salsa was good not too spicy. I really enjoyed this meal and I'm actually thinking about it right now. I'm wondering when I can get back over into this area to have the same dishes again. We had enough food to be entirely full while we were there, but Take some home for at least a couple of meals. I think I ate two days off of the remaining fajitas. I even took a couple of the nachos and they stayed fresh with the chips crispies so it was really strange. We also had sopapillas. Now the sopapillas weren't my favorite here. They kind of drizzle a chocolate and a honey and some sugar on them but The consistency of them wasn't my favorite. I like mine to be a little bit more donating soft, but like a little crisp on the outside these were more like crispy without as much of the softness. Plus, the taste was not the same. They were a little flower tasting. However, I didn't let the sopapillas ruin my impression of what it had just eaten previous to ordering these for dessert. So, I can't remember if I did a review back when I went a year ago but I wanted to make sure that I did one now because this place is so good. It seems like it's just this little hole in the wall in a shopping center and that doesn't make you wanna go, but You need to go because sometimes these places are a little unsuspecting. I probably would never have stopped in here had my friends a year ago wanted to go here and then I wouldn't have come the second time if I never went the first time so you have to try it. I know that I'm definitely going back. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures of what I was eating. I happened to be in the area for lunch and glad to say Mi Pueblo has not lost a beat from all of the lock towns, etc. I ordered enchiladas from Friday's special menu, and they were excellent. Not a big fan of the red salsa, but the green one is great. Has the right kick and taste. The chips here are always fresh. I ordered one of the chicken sour cream and one of the mole. Wow! We are regular eaters of Mexican food and this place blew us away! We got the pollo mole and verdes enchiladas. The mole is the best my wife has had (our amazing waiter Martin suggested it as a personal favorite). And the tomatillo verde sauce was hands down the best I've had. Hostess had the personality of a rock. Then the guy who brought the chips and salsa slammed the salsa down on the table hard enough to where it splattered on the table then just walked off. Waitress was nice. We ordered an appetizer and it took a little while to get it but when it came it was with the food. Which is addiction since it's call an appetizer for a reason.
