They did an amazing job moving a car from WA to AZ! Clear communication and always got back to me! Highly recommend!

Montway contracted with JRT to ship my car from NY to CA. In the process, JRT DRAINED THE FUEL FROM MY CAR(!) and then contacted me to claim they couldn't start the vehicle to it move on and off the truck for other deliveries en route. I was thus forced to pay a separate towing company $1,500 to get the car to the final destination! Total scam! read more

Zero stars for these losers. Arranged for transport of my vehicle more than 2 weeks in advance. They pulled a NO SHOW, as is customary amongst unscrupulous auto transport brokers/carriers right before scamming the consumer via numerous well known deceitful tactics such as the famous bait and switch. Company was outsourced by Montway to deliver a vehicle of ours. Everytime we called the office, they seemed to act like they had no idea what was going on. Not sure if the guy hated his job or just hates people asking for an update. Customer service definitely doesn't seem to be a thing here. Called twice in the week to get an update, was told we were going to get a call back, never received one. Ended up calling Montway to get an answer as did not want to both the Driver while he was on the road. Got the update right away. Domingo the driver is hilarious delivered the vehicle a bit late in the evening but was not a problem. Funny guy and real nice. If i only dealt with him i would be giving them a 5 star review and if i only dealt with the guys in office i would be giving a zero star review. read more

This company gets no stars. This company was contracted by a dealership to deliver my car to my home. My car was picked p on a Wednesday and was to be at my home by Saturday. I called the company to see what the eta would be, was then told that there would be a delay and would of receive the car on Monday but more likely Wednesday. So I call on Monday, no response. On tuesday I call and I'm told my car will be coming in late on Wednesday na Che hung up quickly. Ok, what does that mean. It's now Thursday. No late delivery. No car. No communication, other than a text this morning saying here's my dads number 450am, call him. I wait til 6am and call the dad. I don't know your schedule but I am going to assume that you are already on the road and know what the situation is. I callback a few hours later and apologize for the earlier call and explain my issue. Having someone not listen, interrupt and berate me for trying to get a resolution is not professional. As an independent driver you were contracted by better haul and now represent them until the job is completed. And to tell a customer that you will hold my car, my property, hostage only adds more conflict to an already stressful situation caused by your son's business because i am asking you to contact your son and call me is ridiculous and illegal. I did not create the problem, your son did.The guy that hired you to complete the job. My dissatisfaction lies essentially with better haul for not communicating or resolving their own difficulties in getting the job done. Make your delivery on time. If you can't then contract it out to someone who can. I would never recommend this company to anyone. At this point I'm just hoping my car comes in on Sunday, over a week from the original delivery date, without any damage. read more

Car was delivered safe but two days late. Communication seemed to be a challenge, almost all calls to company and driver I had to initiate. Transport was subbed out, driver was late, broke down for two days, per conversation with driver "picked up an incorrect car and had to go back and swap it". On delivery, driver was very unprofessional stating they had massive points on their license, complaining about insurance costs and the like, very off-putting. In all fairness, the price was reasonable and I received very small discount for late delivery. If I used Better-Haul again I would not allow them to use that subcontractor. read more

Very easy to deal with. Ive had two unit shipped. I told them when i needed the vehicles shipped and they were great about getting me a pick up windows. Both times i had 24 hr notice before the driver showed up. VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE read more

Reposting my original from a month or so back since yelp thought I was a robot. Frustrating. Buyer beware!!! I have been specifically dealing with the owner this business, Jonathan Ripplinger, for the last 5 months about damage that was incurred to the front end of my specialty vehicle that was caused during transport from Mount Vernon, WA, to Glendale, AZ (multiple stops along the way). The driver, John Taylor, failed to indicate on the original condition report a significant crack to my carbon fiber front splitter. He indicated a scratch to the wrong part of my front end, and not where the damage was located by me at delivery. I should warn you this particular driver runs his hands on the UNDERSIDE of your bumper and indicates scratches on the condition report. Of course there are scratches under the car!! My damaged part is $2600 just to be replaced, and that's not installed. When the driver was confronted by the owner about the damage, the driver said he must not have noticed as he "picked up the car at night." Unbenounced to the driver I had picture evidence of the car being loaded on the car hauler during the daytime that the dealership had sent me to tell me the car was on its way. Deceit from the driver from the get go. Those photos were provided to Jonathan Ripplinger along with photos showing the damage was much more than just a "scratch" as those were the only damage types even indicated on the pickup condition report by driver John Taylor. After several months of both myself and the owner of Better-Haul, Jonathan Ripplinger, trying to find a repair shop, or an aftermarket replacement for the part, we were unable to do so. Despite my proof that the driver had lied to Jonathan himself, Jonathan told me he's going to side with the driver that he appropriately documented the damage and was not going to pay to replace my damaged part. I'm not sure what else I could have done to prove my case with the owner, and I'm saddened he did not have his customers best interest in mind. Be leery of doing any business with "Better-Haul Auto Logistics & JR Transportation" based out of Yakima, WA. In the event your vehicle gets damaged and it is not over $5,000, "Better auls insurance won't even kick in, leaving the responsibility on the owner to make right with the customer, which clearly didn't occur in my instance even after proof above a reasonable doubt that his driver had lied to him and didn't properly indicate my damaged part on his condition report. I have used Better-Haul Auto Logistics three times over the last two years to move my car from the Blaine area to AZ and back. I have found them to be very responsive to my needs of timing and this last time Tim provided good communication and efficient service. I like to see my car go onto the transporter and this was arranged with good timing with the driver as we met at a gas station. The price was right and I would highly recommend them. read more

These guys are the best. I have been using them for 10 years. I ship my car from WA to NV and back every year. Jonathon and Pete are great. On one trip I the drive damaged the rear bumper of one of my cars. No questions asked I took it to my body shop of choice and it was fixed up like. Their deliveries are on time and smooth and very reasonably priced. They are really serviced oriented. I would not use anyone else at this point. If you want a reliable shipper whose deliveries are as smooth and timely then Better-Haul is the one for you. read more

Do not use this company!!!! The worst service ever. I gifted our car valued at about $15,000, to our daughter in Austin TX. I dropped the car at an auction yard in Airway Heights, WA August 11, 2013. A sub contractor picked the car up and shipped it to Better Haul in Yakima. On August 26 I got a call from my daughter to tell me the car had been damaged by the driver en-route. Damage estimates are about $6,000. The car has been sitting in a repair shop yard ever since (about 5 weeks). Calls to Better Haul has been a nightmare. Either they have not responded or given us bad information (the wrong insurance company and contacts; status of claim, etc). Just to give you an idea of how bad this has been, the accident claim coordinator told me she doesn't use computers because she is "old school" and only uses the fax or mail. Now, their insurance company (Canal Insurance- don't use them either for anything) is giving me and my daughter the runaround with silly delay tactics. We have provided estimates, pictures, documents of the accident yet they want more pictures and more evaluations from their hand picked appraiser. That would be fine if they would just have an Austin appraiser contact my daughter and repair shop to do the job. Instead, we are forced to deal with voicemails and emails instead being able to talk to someone. Who knows when this will end and how it will end. I hope our experience will help anyone considering this company. I wish I had done a better job of researching this horrible company. read more

We just had our car brought from Portland to Phoenix. The driver John, was incredible. We do this often and this is the first driver and company who did exactly what they said they would do. They picked it up timely. He was running into a problem with a closed bridge in Portland and called to tell us he was going to be a few minutes late! How nice to give us a heads up! We asked the it be delivered on Monday at around 3 pm. He arrived with our car perfectly in tact, no drips of grease from the car above. It was such a pleasant experience that I want other people to know that this is a top notch company that has their own transport trucks...nice and new and our driver was terrific. They didn't take our car to a yard and transfer it to another truck. John brought it straight to our home...no other driver was involved and we put a few light items in the car and they too, arrived just fine! read more

My parents shipped a vehicle to us in TX from them. The vehicle doesn't run, and I wasn't aware that the service isn't able to do residential delivery. The driver sends me a text and asked to meet on the other side of town for him to drop off the truck that doesn't run. I responded asking why not take it to our home given the status of the vehicle. He then called me and asked if he could drive an 18-wheeler into our apartment complex parking lot. I told him I'm not a truck driver but have seen ADF trucks drive in here. He hung up and about 5 minutes later a Peter called and tried to lecture me on the safety of his company and how it wasn't my call if the driver could make it into the complex. I told him I didn't tell the driver to make it here, I had asked him if it was possible for him to drive in. Again, he gave me a lecture on how it wasn't my call. Granted, my parents shouldn't have used their service in the first place, but the attitude of him and his driver are clear he doesn't care about his interaction with his customers. read more
