Food (4/5): It's a $20 lobster roll! Most of them are $30+ in the DC area so it's a steal. The bun was toasted and the lobster was chopped up like a salad. It has shredded lettuce on the bottom (which was a bit weird) but the taste was solid. It came with a side of cole slaw and mix of chips.

J's Lobster is located in the Bottleworks District at the Garage Food Hall. The Garage Food Hall is the perfect spot to hang out with friends or have a casual date night. Went on a Friday before an event and it was pretty busy. Expect a crowd at the food hall during peak days/times. There is a paid parking garage nearby, as well as street parking. I ordered the Lobster Roll (hot), which you can get cold if that's your preference. Since they were busy, I did have to wait about 10 minutes to get my order. Service was great and they moved pretty quickly to get everyone their food. The portion is a decent size. They didn't skimp on the lobster and the bun was toasted perfectly. Overall, J's Lobster is a solid seafood option at the food hall!

It was pretty good. I had the shrimp tacos. Not a ton of ingredients. Quite a few shrimp but not really any seasoning on them. The counter rep was nice. Pretty simple order. It's the food hall so if you like loud and lots of volleyball players, I guess it's fine. Pricey for tacos

I've been to J's Lobster & Fish Market a few times and it never disappoints! The food is always hot and full of flavor. Definitely one of my go-to spots whenever I'm at The Garage. Good seafood, good portions and worth the stop every time!

Listen anywhere you can get a Lobster roll in the Midwest you take it. So I find myself in "The Garrage" in Indianapolis. The roll is toasted buttered up top with lobster meat no complaints.

Was not ready for this to be not only cold but having chunks of shell in it with no flavor / seasoning Not worth the price at all

We've stopped here several times and I've even brought some friends along to share this wonderful vendor at the Garage Food Hall. My favorite is the warm lobster roll, the bun is steamed and the butter is hot. But it's also available as a cold lobster roll. My other favorite is the lobster fries. The fries without the lobster are so fresh and crispy (in the best way). Food is always made fresh to order, so you might need to wait a few minutes, but we've never waited longer than 10 minutes from order time. Really wonderful.

$5 lobster Mac & cheese was good!

Went on a Thursday night where they were doing the $5 Savor the Garage event. The lobster Mac& Cheese was good. The service was efficient. It came out a couple min after order. The ambiance was great, good people watching and food.

I had a lobster roll and the food was good. The service was quick, but the portion seemed small for the price. Overall, it's delicious. If you like seafood, stop by this place.

Solid seafood choice in thr Garage food hall! We visited when it first opened and wasn't entirely wowed, but we went this past month and loved our food! We had the hot honey fried lobster and the daily special which was a fried catfish with a lemon aoli. So so good! We will be back for just those 2 sandwiches!

My granddaughter and I had lunch at this popular little seafood stand inside The Garage Food Hall today. I had a bowl of the clam chowder and she had the kid's mac and cheese meal with French fries (yes, carbs with a side of carbs). Our clerk was friendly and the food came out quickly. The kid's meal was awesome. The fries tasted fresh cut and delicious. They were hot with a delicate spice. Great fries. My cup of clam chowder was not hot. So I took it back and they happily heated it up. The chowder was thick and creamy with lots of clams. The chowder was served with oyster crackers. As a seafood lover, I'll be back.

This was nothing to rave about for close $20. The shrimp tastes like absolutely nothing. The owner or manager was short and curt and did not offer exchange or refunds. The fries were good but I would not recommend or visit again.

FOOD - Fish Tacos: fried fish in a flour tortilla, topped with lettuce, pico, and cilantro. This was pretty good. It was missing some sauce. I used the sauce from the rangoons and it was fire. 4/5 - Lobster Rangoons: lobster and cream cheese in fried wonton. This was really good. 4.5/5 SERVICE: Fast and friendly. 4/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back. I enjoyed my food and I would like to try other items on the menu.

The Mac and cheese with lobster was poor. It was soupy and the macaroni was overcooked (soggy.)

The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

My guy can tolerate bland food but I could have enjoyed a little more flavor in the fish, but it was good nonetheless because I love fish.
