Great experience at Poke Guru. It is a stand combined with Let's Rolli inside the Garage food hall. Ordering is made very simple either through online, via touch-screen kiosk, or at the counter. Tons of places to sit if you are dining in. I ordered at the kiosk. I ordered a build your own salmon salad bowl with various toppings. They allow 5 toppings with the price, and you can add additional for a small fee per item. The portion was generous. Everything was fresh.

Review: Poke Guru - My New BFF! As a new vegetarian (six months strong!), I'm committed to making better food choices. I'm about 90-100% vegetarian, but the day I ordered from Poke Guru, I was 100% in. I craved fresh veggies because I was under the weather and not in the mood to cook. This was my first time trying Poke Guru, and it definitely won't be my last--this place and I are now BFFs (shhh, they don't know yet!). First off, I have to mention the adorable bag my food arrived in. I don't know why, but I still have it folded like a prized souvenir, LOL. I was excited to try their Yum Yum Potatoes and opted for the Build Your Own Bowl (BYOB). I'm so glad I did! I loaded it with everything I love and even some ingredients I wanted to try for the first time. The best part? I chose nine sauces--yes, nine! They arrived in separate little containers, and I couldn't have been happier. These folks really are gurus! The potato appetizer was absolutely delish--10/10 on taste, 10/10 on quantity (although I wish I had six more potatoes because I devoured them so quickly, haha!). On price, I'd give it a 7/10. I ordered through DoorDash, so I understand the cost was a bit higher, but I'd expect to pay around $6 for the appetizer if I ordered directly. Now, onto the bowl. This is where the gurus truly worked their magic. The ingredients were FRESHAAHH(yes, I said freshaahh to emphasize just how fresh everything was). I saved my bowl to eat later since I wasn't feeling my best, and I was thrilled to find that even after 5-6 hours, the crispy wontons were still crispy-ish. That was a pleasant surprise. I didn't realize that everything was layered on specific sides, so I discovered the wasabi peas and fruit when I returned for my third small serving. The tofu--well, it didn't stand out too much. I chose fried and basic tofu for my proteins, but they didn't add much to the bowl. Still, they were a decent protein choice. I appreciate Poke Guru's commitment to sustainability, including its eco-friendly packaging and cutlery. It's great to support a place mindful of its environmental impact. In the end, I may or may not have licked the potato box, and I'm definitely adding non-hot wasabi peas to more of my vegetarian dishes. I'll be back at Poke Guru for sure! Now that I know what I want (and don't want) in my BYOB, I'll stick with my top 4-6 sauces next time. Y'all need to go check out my new friends at Poke Guru!

My first poke bowl did NOT disappoint. The Garage has many options to choose from, but I'll happily be returning to Poke Guru. The ordering process was very easy, and you can make any combo your heart desires, or go with their classics. It's also right near a large seating area, which is very important in the bustling Garage.

Poke guru happens to be one of my favorite places to eat. I went to Bottleworks to grab food and celebrate my birthday. I skimmed the menu and saw they had a new menu item called "the Golden Glaze Chicken." The lady at the cash register was nice, as well as the gentleman that cooked my food. The presentation of my food was beautiful. The base of it is rice. I got white rice then I had edamame, carrots, chives, chicken, pineapple (my favorite) and spicy mayo just to top it off. I plan on going back in the future.

FOOD: I built my own bowl. You choose your base, proteins, toppings, and sauce. My bowl was pretty good. The flavors and ingredients tasted great together. 4.5/5 SERVICE: They don't take your order, you must order online. I got a text message confirming my order and an estimated time. I made the mistake waiting for a text saying when my order was ready. The text never came. When I came to pick up my order, both guys were on their phones and didn't realize I was standing there. I had to do an *ahem*. FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back. I enjoyed my bowl.

Fantastic food! I tried the Sichuan salmon bowl with sushi rice, and it was so good! Everything tasted fresh and made quickly. I also tried the yum yum potatoes. They are fried to crispy perfection! The sauce on top is also amazing! Creamy and super flavorful! A true favorite though was the green tea I'd gotten to go with my meal. It's by the Moncha Beverage Company. It's a cold brew tea, so the flavor is super smooth and light! There is a main menu you can order off of. If you wish to create your own you can order online. They provide a QR code for easy access. There is seating at a bar top right at the stand which is super nice if there isn't seating in the main hall area. The staff are very friendly and helpful! Very fast service! Highly recommended this place if you're wanting poke!

Sauces and wasabi (that little thumb size of wasabi was 75 cents)

If you're looking for a healthy option at The Garage, Poke Guru is one of your best bets. I ordered online, which is the only way to create a custom bowl. You can select up to 2 each of the sauces, proteins, and "base" options (sushi rice, brown rice, mixed greens, or fried rice) and then up to 5 toppings for the base price. I ended up with a salmon and sushi rice bowl topped with edamame, avocado, cucumber, pickled red onion, and wonton chips. The sauces are served on the side, and I added on a side of wasabi for 75 cents. As someone who really enjoys wasabi, I was a little miffed to open the bag and see the extra charge was for a little flat portion just barely bigger than my thumbnail--wouldn't do that again. They also ask when ordering online if you'd like utensils and while I asked for chopsticks, I was given a fork instead. The bowl itself was pretty good. I enjoyed my flavors and walked away full but not overstuffed. Salmon could've been a little more fresh. The wonton chips were unique and yummy.

I visited Poke Guru in the Garage with a friend! I got the large size of the original and added tuna as my protein. I like the amount of options, toppings, and sauces that are given when you order! They also serve a lot of their products in sustainable packaging which is refreshing to see! The portion sizes were bigger than I expected although I did order the larger size! The only downside is it is pricey but the ingredients tasted fresh to me!

Poke Guru has been my reliable "go-to" in the Garage for quite some time. The fish and vegetables are always fresh, rice is consistently the right texture and everything is always composed well. The standard size bowl is filling, the large is extra filling! Beyond their bowls, they always have a good selection of Kombuchas as well as sake offerings! I recently also had a tuna musubi which was well crafted!

    The Original with Salmon
    Jessica B.

Fresh tasty and filling. This was my first time at the Garage and at POKE guru. I ordered the original and added spicy. I chose salmon, brown rice, mixed greens and as it came. Oh m geee. I love the combo of flavors. I had to stop myself from inhaling it (but the wooden fork assisted in that) The price is a bit steep but I imagine it's because of the rent and rising food costs. After adding bottled water my total was around $18. That's more than I typically spend on lunch so this will go into my nice to have treat category.

Spicy tuna musubi with spicy mayo $7.34 + tip
    Annie M.

Expensive for what you get Not sure where the tuna comes from but the rice was pretty dry & hard in some spots. They recommend getting sauce which was surprising. I don't normally order sauce at Japanese restaurants but I guess they know their food needs it? Tuna itself was ok. Had a different texture than what I'm used to in Atlanta so I'm not sure what is up with it. This place has a good bit of options so maybe just the musubi was not on point today. The garage itself has tons of options so we just got a few items from various places Parking situation is street or lot - all paid. $3/hr for Street or $5/3 hours in the lot next door

    Chicken Yakitori skwers
    Sigrid W.

Delicious Chicken Yakitori skewers. Takes a while to prepare those, but the taste is quite worth it and nobody wants underdone chicken. These are freshly grilled here and you can watch them sizzle on the grill and the staaff checking internal temperture to make sure these are done right before they serve them to you. You can also get some dipping sauces to accompany the skewers and make them even tastier, if that is possible. It's the only dish I can review here at this point, since I was checking out various vendors during my visit. I must say service was friendly and the area spotless clean.

Poke Guru is located inside of The Garage. They mainly serve poke bowls, but have a couple other items on the menu as well. If you're looking for something healthier, this is a great option! The poke bowls are healthy yet filling! The first time I tried this place, I was pleasantly surprised at how large the portions are. They now are joined with Rolli at the same booth so you can get some of the rolli sushi sauces on your bowl as well. I've never had any issues with service. If you don't want to commit to a whole bowl, try their Ahi Tuna Wonton Nachos:-)

My friend had been telling me about her favorite bubble tea spot for months, and when we finally went, I was so happy to see they also have custom poke and sushi burritos and delicious onigiri options. The inside is super cute and was very clean when we went. Service is quick and unfussy, so this would be a great option if you need to pick up a to go order, but it's also a nice spot to stop for a quick lunch break. It's cozy and quiet so could even be a good place to work or study if you're looking off the beaten path on Mass Ave. Aside from the onigiri, most of the food is totally custom and made to order, so you can really get whatever you want. You order on a paper menu like at a sushi restaurant, picking exactly what you like--and honestly, you can go wild here. For the base price of $11.50 (for burritos and bowls), you pick your base, protein, up to two sauces, and then add as many of the mix-ins and toppings as you want. A steal, imo! There are several ways to make this vegetarian (I got tofu), and it could be gluten free, too, if you're careful about sauces. I ordered my burrito and a peach black tea with aloe jelly. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

After a busy morning shopping for wedding dresses for my sister, our group of 4 wanted a healthy…read morelunch even though it was already 2:30pm. My sister, who is local, doordashes this place all the time and highly recommended it. I got half sushi rice and salad with most of the free toppings and half salmon/half tuna as well as a Gatorade. My bowl was yummy although the pineapple tasted weird and my ginger sauce barely had any taste. The fish was very good and the toppings were all fresh. For four bowls and four bottled drinks, our total came to about $65. A bit pricey for a late lunch but my sister might have found "the dress " so I guess it was worth it haha! It is also in walking distance to the hotel we stayed at, Ironworks Hotel. There's plenty of parking and plenty of seating as well. Music was not too loud and the space is kept clean. Overall, I am pleased with our lunch!

I can't speak to the poke bowls, because I didn't get one. I was on a mission to find a Japanese…read moremarble soda called Ramune, and I had heard that this Hawaiian restaurant had 'em. Holy humuhumunukunukuapua'a! Did they ever. Poke Bros had several flavors of Ramune, but I was only interested in melon, so I grabbed two. If you, too, are looking for Ramune, they are located in a self-serve refrigerator by the counter, on the bottom shelf. Some day, I will be back to try the poke bowls. Poke Bros is set up Chipotle-style, where you tell them what you want and they put it in a bowl. This isn't my favorite kind of setup, because most of the time, I don't want to think about what might taste good together. I do enough thinking all day. I just want to say, "Give me the blahblahblah," and out comes something that tastes delicious that I didn't have to think about. But if you like customizing your food, this place is perfect for you.

Not going to lie, I wasn't really trusting the stellar review for this place. I love traditional…read morepoke and can get down with the chipotle style create your own bowls but Ali'i Poke truly has it going on. I stopped here for my final lunch in Indy before heading to the airport. I wasn't in a hurry but was skeptical with one person working but man, did she hustle! I created my own bowl and it was just what I was looking for.....quality fish, spice and all the add ins (they don't charge extra for avocado either, hooray!) As always with these places, love that you can opt for the poke over greens vs. rice so this is easily a healthy meal if you want it and a great place for beginners wanting to try poke.

I recently came back from Hawaii where poke is popular and I saw that they offer kani along with their raw fish options. I was excited because I've wanted to try the other things that come in the bowl but not necessarily raw fish. I love spicy Kani so I got the make your own bowl which seems to be popular because you don't get charged extra for items. Service was great! Not sure if he was the owner but he was very nice and made great suggestions since it was my first time. I didn't care for the seaweed salad so I'll opt out of that next time. It was like sushi in a bowl. Next time I'd like to try their shaved ice.
