[[HIGHLIGHT]]They took me right away and I was so impressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have several beautiful rooms to change in with a full door, a bench to sit down on plus another bench to lay your clothes on and hooks and it's handicapped accessible. There are handles on the walls if you need them, I came out and they have these little platforms that you stand on and the lady handed it up and then when I came out of the dressing room and she took the pants, she showed me what was going to be done about the rhinestones and the embellishment, and she explained the whole process to me. This is fabulous care for my clothes. I'd highly recommend choosing a different dry cleaner. Although it might seem like a decent dry cleaner, it's not. At first I had good experiences. That said, dropped off a dress shirt a month ago that I received back with black spots all over the top of it. They claimed it to be from the conveyor belt. I asked them to clean it again, which they did. However, the second time I received the shirt there was a tear near the top part of the neck due. Not entirely sure what was done during the cleaning process to cause this but it didn't exist before I dropped the shirt off. It looks like something could have rubbed up against it causing a tear. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then reached out to the general manager to ask them to take a look at the shirt and nicely asked them to replace what they had broken.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of willingly accepting a mistake and accident, he then turned it around on me and told me that I caused the rip.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I proceeded to explain that I am a very detail oriented person and check all my clothes for things like that regularly and would have noticed a rip that big. Will not be returning. I dropped a few men's dress pants and blankets to be dry cleaned. They lost 2 pieces of clothing and a very sentimental blanket. I had previously been going here for years. I have been using J's Tailor Oak Lawn for 10 years. I have gotten excellent work and superb service though these years. I recently needed to refresh a favorite casual dark blue designer shirt that had some fading around the collar and sleeve edges. I was skeptical that it could be revived but took it to J's Tailor for re-dyeing. The results were excellent! The shirt's original color was retained and the fading was much improved. I brought in some jeans that needed to be hemmed. It was a simple job, but the legs were slightly uneven. In addition, the tailor hemmed them shorter than I wanted. I knew it was going to be expensive but I was okay with that since I was expecting the job to be done properly. I brought in an expensive pair of jeans. Paid a lot to get them tailored and extremely disappointed that the legs are uneven and the jeans are shorter than I wanted. Wow, I didn't even know dry cleaners had customer service. Never In my life have I ever spent more then 5 min in a dry cleaner. I just spent 15 min talking with the staff going over options. Very polite, very informative. They deliver the pick up, and that's free. Haha yeah I said free? Yup part of the service. I dropped my clothes off it's a Monday mind you. They said Thursday before 5 (first typical response that didn't actually surprise me) but then they drop the customer service bomb ... but if you need it same day or rushed just us know and we will take care of you. Found this service which is close to where I live in uptown. They're kept their word as far as deadlines and service. Of course they will measure you beforehand and see how you want clothing altered. They do estimates and will call immediately to see if rates are okay with you before actually doing the alterations. It is pricey (4 pant alterations for $40-45 each) but they do an excellent job. What impressed me the most was that they were able to turn bell bottoms jeans I had into a fitted style, and that is actually difficult to pull off for most people in this line of work. I went into J's on a Thursday afternoon after realizing that the dress I was supposed to wear at a wedding the next day had 3 holes alone the side seams. I went in and told Albert the situation and that I would need the dress before 3pm on Friday when I would be leaving town and asked if there was any way they could help me out. Albert was incredibly understanding and accommodating and told me that he would do his best to have the dress ready by 12pm on Friday. The next day, it was ready at 9am and looked brand new! I needed a dress tailored for a wedding. I bought the dress for $150. After sizing they quoted me $65 for the tailoring which I thought was high, but needed it done. Here I am the week of the wedding and they just let me know that just the hem would be $75!! That is bananas. We've used the alterations and cleaning from this facility for years. They even offer delivery to your home, apartment or workplace. We did the delivery for a while but have since moved. The staff are very professional. My clothes are taken care of when I leave them here. We encountered an issue snd Jennie worked with us since it was a system issue. I'd honestly love to say this place was great but it's not. Very convenient location so you want it to work but it's just bad all around. Never mind that the prices are absurd - I live in a high rise and it's cheaper for me to have my clothes picked up by ALL the carriers and brought back to me than it is to drop here, but it's also quicker turn around and better quality work. But what really took me over the edge here was I tried the tailor here and figured what's the worst that could happen, I just need my sleeves taken up 1 inch. Something a trained monkey could perform for about 15$. Well... here after them pinning me and I asked for a price up front - they said it wouldn't be bad and waited to pin me - then rang me at the end to a tune of 45$ per piece for sleeve hemming. Let's pause right there... anybody please ask me and I'll give you a list in uptown of every single place I called after this and the next closest is 25$. But alas I was in a hurry so I left them for pick up. When I came to pick up my two items they told me my cost was 145$. You read that right - 145$. So I told the owner absolutely not I was quoted 90$ which already was a hatchet job. So they have these sweet little cameras they can pull the exact time of the recording and replay it for you... well upon doing so the owner knew I was right and even heard they quoted me wrong - and still after all this said I would owe 145$. After some extremely awkward conversation she brought my total to 125$ as a favor to me even though we have audio recording that they gave me the wrong quote. Look 125$ isn't breaking me, I honestly could care less I've moved on and learned - but what a waste of space this place is. The alterations were actually crooked as it's windowpane so you can see they even screwed that up but for the fact you're paying a premium you expect better clarity and service and to not get price gouged. FYI you can get a custom suit for 125$ in labor from Bedani, Jinns, Lord Taylor, and just about any other bespoke guy locally provided you pay and pick the fabrics (250-300). Ten minutes to take sleeves up is at most a 25$ job and a no headache experience anywhere you go. Do Better. read more

Update: 7/21: Upon reading my earlier review, the owner, Jeannie got in touch with me to find out what my concerns were, make everything right, and to explain the charges (as this cleaner doesn't have prices listed on their website ?? Don't recall this). I was given a discount on the total and appreciated the fact that Jeannie spoke to me personally to make amends and to also speak with the employee who initially assisted me. I decided to give this business another chance- I brought in a long coat that unfortunately had some hard-to-treat mold stains and required tailoring, and some other items to see if their cleaning quality and tailoring was consistent. I was impressed (I had initially taken this item to another usual cleaner that could not remove the stains.). This item was cleaned very well, buttons also replaced, and hemmed. Quality was there! Proud to say I've been back a few times more and I have no complaints! I will say it is a complete 180 degrees from my initial encounter with pricing and the customer service at the front end. I will say that all of the ladies at the front have been helpful every time I've been back. Jeannie will even check on me every now and then to make sure all is well. Now- this isn't the cheapest dry cleaner, but I prefer to get what I pay for-- and you will! As noted below, I wanted y'all to tell me their competition, but they actually have become their competition and have exceeded my expectations every time. The commitment to consistent quality and service is evident here. I.WILL.NEVER.RETURN! When I tell you, I just left- as in 15 minutes ago and am so pissed about the absurd cost these ppl charged me? Last Saturday I dropped off a belted jumpsuit and a long jacket- 2 items in my opinion. I returned today to pick up said items and my bill was $55, as in FIFTY-FIVE dollars to hem and dry clean both items!? WTF? They quoted me $10 each to hem at drop-off. Fine. But, they charged me $12 each AND charged $3 for the belt? The damn belt? AND charged $15 to dry clean the jumpsuit itself- so they charged me for 3 items- jacket + belt from jumpsuit + jumpsuit. Believe me- I will NEVER give these ppl another DIME of my $$$, I am not cheap by any means, but $15 which exceeds the cost of alterations is absolutely absurd- and I just checked and saw PEN INK still on my jacket. Done! I told the sales associate upon leaving that I would never be back! Don't waste your $$. If anyone knows great cleaner + tailors in the areA- DO let me know! I literally got taken to the cleaners by this place! Brought a brand new $60 pair of pants in to get tailored because they were baggy, long, and unshaped. They charged me $86 for tailoring the one pair of pants lol. Great place to go if you have infinity dollars and like being treated like pond scum. They did do a good job tailoring the pants all things considered. The lady who runs the place is ice cold and unfriendly and acted like she was doing me a favor. The people who work at the front desk are very unprofessional. The employees were talking, laughing, and using cuss words when I walked in. They assured me my dry cleaning would be ready before my trip. I came in to pick up when they told me it would be ready and it wasn't. They said "it is cleaned but not processed and asked me to come back". I asked if they could do me the favor of delivering because I'm going out of town (I have seen their delivery van pass by my apartment a hand full of times) - they told me they could not make that happen either. I asked if they could give it to me as it is clean and ready (process later) they said they could not do that either. Not to mention, they charge an arm and a leg. If I could leave 0 stars I would. These cleaners out source items without letting the owner know. These out sources are uneducated in the process of cleaning and communicating. They RUINED an expensive, irreplaceable suede jacket, and assured me they would fix the issue... well their resolution was to STRIP my suede jacket resulting in it to lose the majority of the suedes color, texture, and appearance. Absolutely appalled. The jacket is now unwearable due to the condition of the suede. The manager is clearly clueless on this as is the "leather cleaner" they sent the jacket to. Had I known they were going to do this I wouldn't have even considered bringing my jacket here. Key point is THEY ARE NOT LEATHER OR SUEDE CLEANERS. They send your items to some out of shop "cleaner" who doesn't know the first thing about cleaning suede Update: the manager did refund my cleaning cost and did try to fix the issue with the jacket, however, the damage is done and the jacket does not wear nor look like it did prior to having it cleaned. On my birthday I finally received my birthday dress I ordered online... and of course it didn't fit. After driving around Dallas and being rejected by one tailor shop and then another, J's came and saved the day. They had the dress ready in only 3 hours... yes THREE hours. This was not just a simple hem, the top of the dress needed to be redone. The dress looked amazing and I felt amazing. It's safe to say J's is amazing at what they do. From a dry cleaning perspective, they do a good job and are very quick. For tailoring, I would go elsewhere unless you need a button reattached. I've had several things done there. The tailoring business here is clearly more about volume than detail. There are number of things that I was unhappy about as well as a few things that pointed to general inexperience with men's suiting. (Supposedly, Jay started making men's suits, but I doubt he's actually the one sewing anymore.) That being said, they generally fix the issue (unless it can't be fixed). I've consistently had issues with them getting the correct pant length when I have pants hemmed. As an example, I had three pants that were all the same brand and same style/cut. I specified the exact measurements I wanted. All four pants were finished with a different length: +/- 1.5 inches of what I asked for, which ends up looking really bad on a suit. Normally, this would be easy enough to fix - just rip the hem and redo. But, they tend to cut a lot of fabric off making it hard to lengthen anything if it is too short. For hems, they use a commercial hemming machine (which is pretty standard), but it looks pretty bad on thin suit fabric because it puckers. My tailor in NYC would do this by hand when the fabric needed it. I like kick tape/hem tape on my suit pants. They did not use the manufacturer's provided tape and instead sewed some ribbon into the pant. The tape is also not where it is supposed to be (it is sewn about 0.5" from the actual hem and does not stick out like it should). One of my jacket sleeves that was shortened is noticeably uneven. On the same jacket which also need sleeve buttons added, they kept all of the spare buttons. 4/5 for dry cleaning; 0/5 for tailoring read more

Although this place is quite a drive for me, I'll make the trek just for the top notch customer service that I receive here versus any other cleaners/tailor that is closer to me. Jeannie has been super helpful to me every time I've been in and even in a bind, she worked her magic for me and made the impossible happen.
