If I were to base this review on their Christmas decorations, they would get 6 stars! Unfortunately, this is about their business. The employees/service is fine. Not the greatest or friendliest, but very average for Chinatown. My problem is that they add wayyyy too much ice and sugar to their drinks. You basically get a cup full of ice and two sips of tea. If you ask for less ice, you still get the same exact amount of tea, so the cup is not full. And even then, it still contains much more ice than you would get elsewhere. Although they do have a variety of interesting snack options, they lack tea options. That, along with their ice and sugar problem is what knocked off some stars for me. read more

I have been coming here so many times and Jtea never let me down! They have a very unique milktea flavor, the matcha jello with matcha milktea is a excellent combination! Cheese milktea is pretty new and it is good, too! They also have many vietnamese street food which are very delicious and authentic! However, the store is VERY small and not suitable for studying or working here. Hanging out with friends is OK but you may not get a seat! I love love love this place so much and I wish they would have another store!!!!! The bubble tea scene in Chinatown is fierce, but if you go on the other side of the Beltway towards "Viet-Town," you'll find a nice little tea shop by King Spa! I saw this place on Instagram and was very curious to see what their tea would taste like. The menu carries your usual teas, but I was very surprised to see how many traditional Vietnamese food/snacks the shop carries. For the tea, I really enjoyed the Milk Tea No.5. The menu indicates how much sugar, tea, and cream they put in their drink. I prefer my teas to taste strongly of tea and opted for this. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the tea. It was strong and didn't feel overly sweet. The boba here is also very good too-- very chewy and sweet. There wasn't an after taste and it still tasted good even after a couple of hours. For price, it is very competitive, maybe even cheaper than some of the other places I frequent (approximately $3.75 vs. $5). The set up of the shop is cute with lots of greenery and lights. My one gripe is that if you ask for less ice, they don't fill the tea to the top of the cup. I know a lot of places do this, but it just feels stingy to me when this is practiced as there are lots of places that don't do that. read more

This boba place is vietnamese based and I really like how they offer unique vietnamese drinks and snacks. I went with my one of my vietnamese friends and none of us were really familiar with what they offered. I tried the aloe vera drink. I was expecting a very liquid-y drink and the it was actually yogurt. The consistency was thick and I love the bits of aloe vera... I even added their milk pudding as well (texture is similar to panna cotta). It wasn't too sweet and I liked it better than I expected. I would ask for more aloe vera as it really makes the drink. Update: I've tried a good amount of items here. The fruit tea is amazing and refreshing! The tirimisu milk tea is delicious! The brown sugar milk is too light, get the brown sugar milk tea!! Trust me!! The green milk tea with jellies are yummy, and you can definitely taste the green tea. Lastly, the milk tea is wonderful considering that most places don't make the tea strong enough. The yogurt is waaaayyy too thick. Tastes like sweeten Greek yogurt. I don't recommend this honestly. Try them out!!! read more

I have heard that Milk Green Tea with Milk Jello is a signature drink and tasty. So, I tried today, but it was not as I expected. Actually, it is a Thai Green Tea; it doesn't have the smell of matcha green tea ( I think I misunderstood when ordering) or tea flavor at all. About milk jello, they're firm (I like this) but has no taste of whipping cream as many milk jello I used to eat. I also bought BanhTrangTron, it's okay and not spicy. Overall, the drink and food are average, the price is reasonable. I want to give 2 stars but I like the customer service, she was very friendly and didn't mind when I changed the order. Used to love this place but feel like I'm getting jipped. When I request for something with no ice. It's because we do not live near Bellaire and we do not want it to go get watered down. So I request for all my drinks with no ice if I'm buying it for my family. They only give you a half of cup of liquid. I can understand 75% or 80% full. Not 50%. I come here frequently. The place has upgraded ever since the last time I came here. During the weekdays, it's not as busy as the weekends. If you looking for a cafe to get some work done, don't come on the weekends because it's usually loud and busy. The place is really small and has a contemporary interior design. Every time I come here, I always get the Green Milk Tea. This place makes the best Green Milk Tea of all the places I've been to. The service is usually quick; the average service wait time is around 1-5 minutes. All in all, it's a great little place to grab a snack or drink and hang out with your friends! There's so many boba spots opening in Houston that I never noticed this spot till just recently. JTea serves a handful of drinks and Vietnamese snacks although they don't have a variety of drinks like other boba spots (Long Coffee for example). I tried out their most popular drink: Green Milk Tea with Milk Jello. Their Green Milk Tea is on the thicker/sweeter side compared to other boba spots as evident by the froth accumulating above the drink. I prefer my teas to have a predominant tea flavor than milk flavor and this drink unfortunately didn't follow that format. I will admit, the drink wasn't bad, just that it was a tad too sweet for me. They premade their drinks so you can't adjust your sweetness level. The milk jello is semi-sweet and offsets the drink relatively well though. Overall an average experience based on that drink alone. Back history: I am a loyal customer of JTEA. Back when they were at the karaoke night club place that was in the same plaza as Lee Sandwich. Where you would see 2-3 people come in and the salesman(owners dad) was there to sell the drinks. Im so happy for them that they now open up this boba shop now. Back then, they only open until 6 pm. After 6 months, they moved to Pho Tran- which was my least favorite spot to go to. Now: I still come here whenever I craze green tea. Their price is just amazing, $4 with toppings. Okay, it was a really bad idea to come here on a holiday. The space is small and cute, but shove 15 people in there...and it's not as cute. The milk jello was just cute, didn't really taste like anything. Strawnana - 3/5 - my sister got this one, the brother said it tasted like children's tylenol but my cousins and sister liked it. I didn't think it was anything special. I don't typically like fruit smoothies and if I do, I don't like any fruits blended with other fruits.
