Had dinner last night. Waited half an hour just to get a menu and chips, another 15 to place our order, then thirty five minutes to get our meal. Found this hidden local gem on Yelp on my way from the Oregon coast back up to Portland. A very unassuming spot in a larger strip mall with super clean tables, massive menu, decent food, and friendly (but very slow) service. The vibe is very relaxed, casual and almost divey- which I love lol! The restaurant is extremely clean and their menu is HUGE with some unique and interesting items. One that piqued my curiosity was the appetizer called the "cheese crispi" with no description. I'm all about cheese so I ordered it for fun and it's absolutely GIGANTIC lol! It's basically one giant nacho - a huge fried tortilla chip covered in melted cheese and cut like a pizza. This is definitely not for just one person - it needs to be shared lol. They also provide chips and salsa with refills - the salsa is good quality with lots of nice bits of fresh tomatoes and such but is just a tad bland for my liking. The chips are very substantial and delicious. For my proper entree I settled on the Tijuana taco salad that comes in a tostada with choice of meat. I opted for ground beef and went for the "deluxe" version that includes sour cream and guacamole. The portion is huge and has decent ratios of everything. Their ranch dressing is just ok. Overall I enjoyed my salad. I had several servers and they were very friendly but service is super slow and it wasn't very busy at all. I felt like I was there for ages and it's hard to get anyone's attention bc the booths are very high so you're kind of hidden lol. But it's a nice relaxing place so if you're not in any hurry it's fine. Prices are what you'd expect for the area. It's located in a larger strip mall and if you weren't looking for it you might miss it bc it's so discreet. There's lots of parking available. read more

After spending a couple of hours at the splash pad, the family needed a place to eat. Unfortunately, Wilsonville is lacking in good family friendly food options. Not wanting to eat at Wendy's, I opened up the Yelp app on my phone. When I saw that this place actually had good ratings, I knew we had to at least try it. Let me tell you this place is a hidden gem. It is quite literally hidden in a strip of buildings, so it is easy to miss. When we arrived, we were promptly seated at a nice clean table. All of the servers were incredibly nice and very patient with us. Now let's talk about the food. The chips and salsa were great. But don't fill up on them. The food came out quickly. It was hot and the portions were generous. But most importantly the food was SO GOOD. My husband had the tortilla soup which came in a large bowl. He said it was so good. My picky kid had a taco and he loved it. My youngest ordered a hamburger and said it was so yummy. I ordered the combo fajitas and was very pleased. Next time we need a place to eat in Wilsonville, we will be coming here. The one downside of this location is the parking. There isn't much and people drive like crazy in the lot. read more

Tasty tortilla chips are served warm with very flavorful salsa with a hot kick. The Cheese and onion enchilada was excellent with an avocado tostada. It came with beans and rice. Got a tamale on the side ala carte. It was good. The masa was a bit soft. We also had the Camarones Apretalados which was bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese and crab. I may have leaned towards 5 stars, but on this last visit I had a mole dish that was just ok. Everything I had on the first two visits were great. We have Ordered both the Cadillac and house margaritas. They are both very good, and for the price we will stick with the house ones. My wife and I visited this restaurant recently and the service started out well- we were promptly greeted and seated, our orders taken shortly there after. I ordered Carne Asada and Camarones, and my wife ordered the taco salad. When the meal arrived, mine was rather colorless and my wife's taco salad came out without the standard shell bowl. We asked our waiter why there was no bowl like in the picture on the menu and he said that was another type of taco salad. We politely requested a shell bowl and the waiter literally shook his head and rolled his eyes as he went to get the bowl. Not to mention, her salad was this massive heap of shredded iceberg lettuce, plain ground beef, sour cream and very few other vegetables. Extremely uninspired. My dish was equally as bad - the shrimp were previously frozen and rubbery, The steak was tough and the sauce was bland. The only thing good about this meal was the rice, surprisingly. Ordered on line, 4 meals totaling $82. Price was kinda higher than expected, but food is good. We ordered 2 orders of halibut tacos, but when I opened the bag at home there was only 1 fish taco meal with the other two meals. It's a 40 minute round trip from our house. I called and they apologized for their error, and offered to prep another meal if I wanted to talked the 40 minute round trip while the other food was getting cold?? I asked for a refund, but apparently while I thought so was ordering direct from them through a google search, it was actually through a third party called POSTMATES. I found a link to Postmates, and it was a 45 minute wait to talk to a human; their FAQ said missing items had to be negotiated directly with the restaurant. The manager at the restaurant said I had to go through POSTMATES even though they made the mistake. They owe me $19 for a dinner I never received, and went ahead and charged my credit card the full price. Extremely disappointed. I will never go there again and will tell anyone who will listen NOT to go to Juan Colorado. read more

The service was fast and the people are friendly, but like I said this is more for the American taste buds. Unfortunately, I am an Azteca fan, so this review might not be completely objective. First, the customer service is excellent! They seem to have a team approach, so you are never neglected. Second, the ambience is nice. We love all the decorations, which makes you forget that this is a relatively small restaurant. Unfortunately, the food is not quite as good as Azteca's. I had Juan Colorado's version of the Camarones Blanco, and it was good, but not as tasty as Azteca's. My girlfriend had the Carne Asada burrito, and we agreed that it was not spectacular. I loved their horchata, but my girlfriend thought it was too sweet. We will never return, but this restaurant has been here forever, so it obviously has many fans.
