We love trying out different Mexican food restaurants. Since we were in the area and we happened to have a coupon, we gave Dos Sabores a try. What we liked: The food was very good with generous portions. The chicken fajitas would easily feed three people. I loved the char on the meat and veggies, quite tasty. P. enjoyed the carnitas platter, but he specifically asked if it was topped with anything like avocados, sour cream, etc. and was told no. But, surprise, they put chopped avocado in the salad mix on top. No worries, I scooped it onto my plate. The chips and salsa are quite tasty, but of the three sauces, none was particularly hot and spicy, but they were flavorful. The restaurant is large and decorated very festive with the typical music playing. It was a nice, casual atmosphere. What could be improved: The service and food delivery time. It was about 3:30 on a weekday, there were maybe two other tables of people in the restaurant. It took several minutes for our server to acknowledge us. She was pleasant but not overly friendly. We must have waited 25 minutes or so for our food to be delivered. And during this long wait, our server never approached us. Even if there was only one cook in the kitchen, we think it should have come out quicker. Again, the saving grace was the food itself. read more

Vacationing in Florida we stumbled on this place on the way to Fort Myers Beach and glad we found it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located in a plaza, this place was definately jumping and the interior had a great Mexican decor that was very inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lucky for us we popped on Taco tuesdays and all tacos we $1.50! and I can tell they are some of the best tacos ive had. We ordered the Pollo, Pastor, Carnitas and Chorizo all served in traditional corn tortilla. Interesting, there were not served in a double tortilla like I was used too but it was all good. In addition to the tacos, we also ordered the Guac with housemade chips and a margheritta to wash it down. I thought the tortilla chips were over done and the guac I thought I make a better one. Margheritta I found too sweet, and I had to add to some water and it was better. Food: from the beginning..the chips weren't my favorite. I did enjoy the variety of salsa. Next: the chicken chimmy..enjoyable. filling. I couldn't finish it. Last, the dessert: Tres leches. The food is very good and authentic and always comes out fresh and hot. Unfortunately, the service is 100% horrible. Was empty as well... We have gone in at times when they are busy and sometimes when they are slow, and the service is always the same. No attentiveness, no sense of urgency AT ALL. We have given this place so many chances b/c we love the food but we will not be coming back. You feel as a customer neglected for sure. read more

I love this restaurant. And I wouldn't know about it had I not read reviews by Yelpers whose tastes seem to align with mine. Yesterday I had an unsettling medical scan to rule out a dread disease. "I could really use a drink," I told T after the procedure. It was late in the afternoon and I immediately thought of margaritas at Dos Sabores. The place was packed. Apparently during "season" with snowbirds here, reservations are encouraged. Though we didn't have one, we were seated after a short wait. "We're here for happy hour," I said. "No happy hour today," the waiter responded. "Taco Tuesday!" For $1.50 each, you get the most delicious tacos with a choice of chicken, steak, carnitas (my fave!), chorizo, al pastor or chopped meat. Besides really tasty fillings, the flour tortillas are amongst the best I've had. Lightly grilled, likely homemade, they're sort of a hybrid of soft and hard. Even though it wasn't happy hour, margaritas only cost a dollar extra. And boy, did they hit the spot: as I've said in a prior review, potent and flavorful. I'm particularly partial to their pico de gallo, which comes with the chips, along with two other dips. A delicious, boozy meal at a more than reasonable price. read more

My wife and I ordered the Queso Fundido (which was amazing) and a chicken burrito supreme. We told the waitress were going to split it and they brought it out on two plates...splitting the burrito, rice and even guacamole and sour cream evenly between the two. Delicious meal! My husband had chicken flouts and I had fajita asada. We were both very happy with our meals. Mine was so large that I ended up taking more than half of it home for lunch tomorrow! I have driven past this plenty of times and finally decided to stop in. It just happens I was happy hour when I came in. Tacos were $2 so I got five different ones to try. They were all good and had plenty of meat in them. My usual complaint is they never put enough meat in these tacos. The chips were also good because you could tell they just fried them up. No cold chips here. I got my kids chicken tenders and they passed the test with them so I was happy. Overall good food and good prices so it's hard to beat. read more

However, service was AWFUL!!! Our server seldom showed back up to see if we needed anything else. Upon bringing water, he spilled the full glass all over the table and onto clothing. Being a winter visitor to this area, I only come here a few times a year. I have never been disappointed. The food is freshly prepared and the tortilla chips are awesome. Taco Tuesday is always busy there with a variety of soft tacos to choose from. 3 sizes of margaritas made without sour mix are excellent. I came here earlier today on a good word hoping to have a delicious, authentic Mexican lunch. Instead, I was met with unprofessionalism, mediocrity, and poor management. The Waitress Isabel was extremely rude and had an attitude during our entire duration from start to finish. You can see all the complaints about her in the other reviews going back months. The owner himself lacks proper communication and professional when responding to negative feedback. Now to the food, I don't know where to start. I had mind blown by the absolute mediocrity that sat on my plate. The fajitas was a lump of char burned rubber meat which came with 4 tortillas. The waitress brought more tortillas and a micro portion of flavorless refried beans without EVER mentioning additional cost. The food lacked flavor and edibility. I am absolutely disappointed, and I do not recommend this place to the worst of my enemies. Not to mention Isabel's extremely slow service as she sat behind the computer screen instead of attending her patrons. After waiting forever for the check, I received an additional bill for the extra store bought tortillas and micro portion of beans she brought after I was NEVER told about their additional cost. Her unprofessionalism extend further as she refused to understand me from my perspective. The owner can say what he wants but at the end of the day he knows he's running a poor establishment as I come from a management background. If he needs any tips help running his business, I'm willing to give a free consultation. Stopped in for take out on my way home to St. Pete after hurricane Milton. Place was one of the few that still had power and it was busy. Staff were on top of everything and so accommodating!
