We found a gem of an authentic Mexican joint. Juanito's Place on W ave I in Lancaster is legit. Don't let the location fool you. Most times when you search for basic plates like huevos rancheros most do not live up to it but at Juanito's they are just like my moms. They are served with home made refried beans, eggs cooked your way, tortillas and potato chunks. The salsas set it off, a mild green salsa and a very nice spicy red salsa. We also tried the chilaquiles, wow, they were amazing, perfect crisp tortillas, spicy authentic salsa, cheese. A must try. They have a huge menu with many Mexican favorites. They seating are is small but could hold about 30 , very tight space but clean and bright. The staff are very friendly don't hesitate to ask for special requests. I cannot wait to return when I am in town again.

It's been a long time since I've had some menudo with meat! This place knocked it out of the park! Best menudo ever!

I really like the cashier but the cook needs to go. I had to overly season my food because when I take a bit if my pork enchiladas I'm chewing and there us NO FLAVOR at all. Idk how that is even possible?? Will not being going back.

We've eaten here a number of times for breakfast, and the food is always good. The service is average and the staff is friendly. We always come back because the food is good. We haven't tried their lunch and dinner yet, but I'm sure we're going to get there.

This place is gross, shitty interior decoration, and crappy food I'm not much of a picky eater or a critic but literally I will never eat here again. I ordered a wet green burrito and couldn't even eat it. It tasted rancid, I couldn't even take one bite, I put it in my mouth and spit it right back out seriously... Came to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. I was alarmed when I noticed the B grade on the door however I was pleasantly surprised with the service and by the quality of the food. This has been my go to place in the AV for some chilaquiles and menudo! Never fails to amaze me. Service has always been good as well. Problem I've had is trying different things than what I normally get, they really don't know how to cook shrimp! And spicy is not there forte either. I recommend they learn a few things. Otherwise it's a great place, especially for breakfast! read more

My friends and I come to this place as many weekends as possible. The customer service is awesome. The girls get to know you personally and learn your orders. Everything is always made right and tastes delicious. The price is amazing and they are speedy with delivery of your order. One of the greatest spots for breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

Terrible. I asked for a torta and 4 taquitos. Then asked if I can get two chicken two beef and they didn't want to do so they said they're packaged.. What are you getting them from costco.. Then my torta they didn't have the meat I wanted so I'm forced to eat asada.. All bad.. Then to top it off I say I want to eat there and they give me a to go box and a plate and tell me to transfer it myself.. Never again. read more

Great place to go on a budget. Food is great! Only one thing I don't recommend is the hard shell tacos .Ive tryed them twice and I was disappointed both times . Other than that the girls taking ur order are really great and friendly.I love they're huevos rancheros. Always have them when I go there. read more

Great food!! Juanitos offers some great tasting mexican food for a reasonable price. I love their hard shell chicken tacos combo plate. Their salsa and chips are really good. They are pretty busy at lunch. They have daily specials. Good service and you get your monies worth. I would definitely recommend. Love this small business. read more

Disappointed..... The one word I would use to describe my experience here. I was really craving some tacos and decided to try a new place. This one had pretty good reviews and it was close to home so I decided to give them a try. We ordered the nachos supreme with carne asada, tacos de asada and al pastor. A sope de asada and a burrito ranchero. All of which cost about $30 bucks not bad I thought. We took it home to eat and first started with the nachos. I was already upset that they weren't made with nacho cheese it's just melted cheese, which alright whatever they could still be good. But the tortilla chips tasted like they had been fried with old dirty oil. The carne asada on them was a little gray and very fatty. So I went on to try the tacos I took one bite of the asada and one bite of the pastor. Again the tortilla had an old oily taste. I had my boyfriend try them and he thought the same thing. He had the burrito and did not like it either. Said it had no flavor. The sope also had that same taste that the tortilla chips had. And since I'm just going off on this place..... what kinda Mexican restaurant doesn't give you lime with your tacos??? The one thing I did finish from here was the horchata. Guess you can't mess it up when it's already pre made. Customer service wasn't the best or the worse but does need improvement. read more

Wonderful place to take a break and get some food! I really like Juanitos. We have some rental properties in the area and when we don't want fast food, we take a break and come to Juanitos. The place is in fair condition in a rougher part of town. Their parking lot can get full at times, because of the other shops. I love Mexican food and Juanitos is good. Their wet burrito is huge and has a good flavor. Their tacos are good (fish taco is so-so). Their nachos are okay. My sister is a vegetarian and they make a no-meat burrito for her. All of us like eating here and it definitely fills our stomach. The staff here is friendly too. The service is diner style - nothing fancy, but good solid service. We usually see a good size crowd here, but we've never had to wait for a table. Overall, if you're looking for a place to have a sit down Mexican meal, I recommend Juanito's. read more

This place has such delicious food and so many different things to choose from. The only downfall would be the cleanliness of the dining room and small size. Due to the foods quality and authenticity you can bipass that the calls are yucky and that the menus are sticky. If it were cleaner, 5 stars for sure. read more

Honestly is they had a no star option I would pick it. Good customer service! But This isn't real Mexican food. Some items on the menu, THE only items on the menu that are good is breakfast choices. Other than that don't waste your time on the grease trap. I orders Asada nachos and it seems that I just got a large container of chips and cheese gauc and sour cream. Barely any meat or beans. Pregnant craving NOT satisfied.. don't waster your money. Gonzalez Tacos on Division is where it's at! read more

I love the asada burritos from here! Which is why I gave it 3 stars and not 1. When I ordered my burrito last night in the restaurant to go I received it in a matter of 3/4 minutes I should have known that it came out too fast. I got home (I live about 5 mins down the street) and my burrito was COLD! Like it had been sitting there for a while! Very disappointed and to top it off it seems like every time the owner is there the salsa is pre packaged in the cups and when u ask for some he gives u 1 at a time so I had to ask for more about 2 times. I am very upset with this visit. And suggest anyone who go there be suspicious if u get your food too fast! Hope this helps read more

There are a lot of good Mexican places in the AV. This is one of my favorite. It offers simple dishes for a cheap price. Everything is flavored and spiced EXACTLY as it should be. It's not the fanciest place, but their food is solid, large portions, and reasonably priced. Al Pastor tacos is a must. If it's the cooks favorite meat, you know he'll do it right. read more

I ordered a sopes plate with a taco de tripas. The sopes themselves were actually really good, but unfortunately my rice and beans were cold, so I didn't eat them. The tripas were overcooked. So crunchy they felt like eating popcorn, which was disappointing. My husband ordered a torta de carnitas and a taco al pastor. The al pastor marinade was pretty mediocre, nothing special, and the torta was just okay. We also ordered a burrito with asada and rice only and again, the rice came out cold while the meat was hot. They did bring us chips and salsa, and the red spicy salsa was actually good, probably the best part of the meal. Overall, this place is okay but very mediocre. With how expensive eating out is these days, I'm really picky about where I spend my money, and this didn't feel worth it. There are definitely better, Mexican spots in Lancaster that I'd rather go to. I probably won't be coming back.

Shrinkflation lives here for sure. The taco prices have increased while portions sizes have decreased. Do yourself a favor and get your tacos from Jack in the Box. That way you can get bad tacos but be out $30.

Within the main building you will find many booths and table options, they have many interesting art pieces and decor. It's a classic diner atmosphere with friendly staff. The food options are many, from Mexican classics, Burgers, Sandwiches and many other options. The meals are all made to your liking without any pushback around extra costs. The food quality was very high, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, they were very authentic with a tomato sauce and sauteed onions and peppers, not spicy but I did ask for their home salsa and it brought up the spice level, the dish is served with homemade rice and beans, all well cooked. I also ordered a side of pancakes and bacon for my dad and they were perfectly cooked. The cost of the meal was very reasonable and worth the visit. I have shared my experience with my friends and family in Lancaster.

For our entrées, we ordered the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and the herb honey-crusted chicken on a brioche bun. Both dishes were outstanding and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant, peaceful, and welcoming. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back!
