Do not come here! I came here for glasses that i needed well they made my glasses wrong when i went in I told them that I could not see at all with the new ones and was told to use them in the morning. I wasnt able to drive or to literally function it felt like i had those drunk goggles. I was told I could see the doctor but they didnt let me see her they kept telling me it was me that I had to get used to them and all they did was bend the glasses to give me a "Panoramic" view. Second they didnt measure my face either i told them the glasses were huge and told me to buy some nose holders. I had to go to a different Lens Crafters on Lincoln for them to find out that the axis of my glasses were at 1 when they had to be at a 6. Very unprofessional and dangerous the amount of times i could have crashed and they were gaslighting me that I was the problem and not only that THEY WERE MESSING WITH MY EYES WHICH COULD HAVE GOTTEN WORSE IM ALREADY BLIND I was told by the other doctor at Lincoln that they always do this and told me to call corporate which i will. read more

Horrible. I stopped over a year ago and they were fantastic. Fixed a pair of my glasses then gave me info and prices on what a pair of glasses would cost. They were great. But like I said it was over a year ago. I stopped today and asked. She insisted on contacting my insurance. Fine go ahead. I already know I don't have coverage. She checks and tells me I don't have that insurance any more. Yes I do. It's been the same for years and will continue to be. Again, I tell her I don't have coverage for glasses and need an estimate on what glasses would cost. I got a song and dance about how she needs my prescription. No you don't, they're progressive lenses. Couldnt tell me about frame price. Last time in I was told they give a discount on frames for non-insurred. Again I don't remember, it was over a year ago. Either this employee is lazy as lazy can be or totally clueless. Actually I'm going with both. I will be going elsewhere. read more

This place is terrible. I ordered contacts and was charged almost 500 dollars, and was told that another 50 would be added on for expedited shipping. THAT DOES NOT EXIST in the world of LensCrafters. I waited a couple days and called, was told to call back. This happened again and the person said that it was shipped but needed to be reordered? At this point I had ordered from 800 contacts and wanted a refund, but was told that I HAD to go in person to get a refund. I went into the store and everyone ignored me for 35 minutes- I left before anyone decided to help out. None of these people are capable of multitasking or working at a normal place. I called and was able to get the refund over the phone. This place has horrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and do not come here. This is worse then going to the dmv. read more

Our experience was EXCEPTIONAL! Dr. Hand is the best eye doctor we have ever had! She was so professional, friendly, and did everything in her power to give my son the best options for his diagnosis. I wish we had met her sooner! Victoria was AWESOME! She helped my son pick out his glasses and was very helpful and patient in showing him options. My son suffers from anxiety and both Dr. Hand and Victoria made him feel comfortable and put him at ease the second we walked into the office. My son left happy and for the first time ever was super excited about his new glasses :) read more

The store manager Victoria Nahhas is extremely rude. I was explaining that the prescription I picked up is not working and I was disappointed that I have to come back again. Victoria didn't listen and was defensive. She even said that if I was dissatisfied if I still need to see the doctor. I don't understand how a store manager can be this abrasive. Sure enough they have to increase my prescription and I have to wait for my glasses to be revised. I have also written to the head office and hoping the store manager will be retrained. read more

Got Ripped off here. I have one of the better eye care insurances out there from my employer. The photo: the 3rd (top) glasses (black) is the one I got from this LensCrafters. Was charged between $400 and $500 for this, and most of that was for the lens as the frame was either a free one or a cheaper one. The 1st glasses you see on the photo is from Walmart back in 2008. I always get/ask for the higher-end, lightest, thinnest lens. The one from Walmart cost me about $225 (without insurance). The middle one (brown) was from 3 years ago which has the blue light coating on it, and I believe I paid about $300 for it (including the frames). As you can see, there is no way that the lens I got from this LensCrafters is the higher end kind they changed me for. I am not an expert on lenses, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this. I don't recommend this LensCrafters (and probably any other LensCrafters after my experience). The doc's name at this LensCrafters is Dr. Goeken, Jessica. I'd rate her about 3-4 of 10. Pretty standard to below for an Optometrist. The lady that helped me with my frames and lens was very odd to say the least. Don't want to go into details. Update: The reason I didn't go back to complain is that I was too busy getting ready for my move back to Colorado at that time. Now I have moved back. What's interesting is that today (June 16, 2016) I received an appointment confirmation via email from this LensCrafters... Not sure why they would send me an appointment I never requested. Odd. Maybe this is their process. I would never ever do business with LensCrafters after seeing that they leave lots of room for shady deals here. Best to find a good local optometrist that don't have to pay brand royalties (or chain fees), because, obviously, the extra cost will flow down to you. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Ordered a pair of $700 glasses I was told they would be ready in 5-10 days (I've used glasses my entire life usually they are ready in 5 days) I called on the 10th day since they had not contacted me and I can not function without my glasses. They gave me the run around multiple times and a few days later (past the 10 day period promised) they notify me that my order has been on hold (not placed) because they were out of stock of the frame I chose. The manager Matt was rude and said they had no idea it was out of stock and there was nothing they can do to rush it. 20 days later I do not have my glasses. read more

I'm not happy with this particular store. The customer service is really poor, and not welcoming. I been here a few times thinking maybe things will change the next time I come in. I was waiting two hours while no other customers were in the store because all the employees were on break eating in the back and didn't acknowledge my presence after they walked past me multiple times. That's okay I walked out. I come in another time and the service wasn't any better. I asked a question she answered them short and quick turned around to help another customer and I stood again waiting around. I recently went for an eye test because I needed some contact lenses and wanted to update my glasses' lenses. The eye test went well, and up until this point my experience was normal, friendly, and what I would expect. After the eye test, the optician handed me off to another associate who was going to handle the glasses. She was not informed that I was going to use my own frame (bought from LensCrafters that last time I had an eye test). The associate heard that I wanted to use my glasses when I couldn't use my contact lenses. She suggested that I need progressive lenses, and although I told her several times that I didn't think it was necessary, I said ok I would try them. The cost was just over $450. When I went to pick my glasses, the receptionist took me into a room, gave me my glasses, and I put them on. When I informed her that I couldn't see anything clearly, she explained how progressives work and said I just need to get used to them. Several weeks later, I called to say that I still couldn't see through them and that I was having difficulty, especially when driving. Again, they said that I should preserve as it's just a matter of getting used to them. Eventually, I decided that I really couldn't use them and went back to the store to see if I could swap them out for single vision lenses. They said I was using the glasses wrong, and that they couldn't do anything more. They also mentioned that it was after 30 days and their policy does not cover a replacement after 30 days. When I mentioned that I found this unbelievable and explained that I tried to talk to them but they kept delaying me, I was met with rudeness by the manager. I have worn glasses for over 20 years, so I know how to use glasses. My mother was an optician and unfortunately, she passed, hence the reason for using another company. I cannot believe I was talked into accepting a lens that I really did not need. Buyer beware! Do not buy anything more than you are comfortable with. I believe they tried to sell me the more expensive lens because they didn't make any money off me with the frame. read more

I have visited 3 different locations of Lens Crafters. Niles, Park Ridge and Lincolnwood. The Dr.s have all been really nice at all 3. At all 3 locations the Dr. have been helpful. However, for the best customer service experience from Dr.s to the entire staff, I would choose the Lincolnwood location. My husband got wonderful treatment from everyone at the Lincolnwood store. read more

She is just as helpful whether I am buying new glasses or am just getting an adjustment! The eye doctor was good. The rest of the staff are fucking idiots . I've had glasses my whole life and lasik and have experienced quite a few eye practices never seen a bigger clown show. It's a long story the whole episode but this visit was for a repair on some Oakleys I purchased there and she tried to macgyver something for around 5 minutes and had her hands all over the glasses and smeared finger prints ALL over the lenses then fucks them up some more and hands them back to me WITHOUT CLEANING THEM. They couldn't adjust a pair of glasses to save their lives. I called Oakley they said the part was called earsocks and is child's play to fix and wear out sometimes. They were SHOCKED that lenscrafters doesn't know what the fuck to do. FUCKING IDIOTS but thats the simplest headache. Never again!!!!!! read more

I was very disappointed with my visit here. The information I was given as to what was covered by my insurance was VASTLY incorrect. I was told my insurance covered $70 for frames when in reality they cover $150.00+. That is just one example, they also quoted me wrong on my contacts, copay and eye exam costs. When I questioned the coverage, it was like I was bothering the woman at the counter, she just wanted me to pay what she was telling me. Come to this location with a print out of what your benefits are, or they will try to rip you off. read more

I went hear for an exam after my previous eye doctor (near greenwood and NW Hwy, Park Ridge) retired, and his office was taken over by a very rude, hasty, and impersonal staff and dr. I'm a fan for sure! Everyone was very nice, accommodating, and informative. I learned that the reason that I had been having headaches for the last year was because the OTHER dr. had made my prescription too strong. My contacts came in super quickly, and it's been super convenient working with tthem ever since. There's plenty of parking (parking lot and garage around the corner). They took my husband for a ride. He is 76 years old and they sold him the Brooklyn Bridge. I knew I shouldn't have let him go alone. We have eye insurance and he should have bought a pair that cost like $100 co-pay. He paid $400 for 1 pair of glasses! They up-sold him on everything. He doesn't even wear glasses that that often. All he needed was a pair of "readers" which he usually buys for $10 at Walgreens. Buyer beware! read more

I have been going to LensCrafters for over 10 years due to the numerous locations and ease of scheduling appointments. I have specifically gone to the location in Park Ridge for the last 3-4 years and had "okay" experiences until my most recent appointment. I filled out the obligatory paperwork and noted to them that my address had changed since my last visit. They said they would update everything in the system and took me back for the prescreening work. The employee was rather rude with me telling me to repeat myself numerous times and getting very short when I didn't notice a difference in one visual she showed me. She also acted like I was inconveniencing her when I told her I did not have my contact case with me, all putting a very sour taste in my mouth. The doctor was friendly and nice. She provided me with a few options that could ease issues I had been having with my former brand of contacts and got me several samples to try out. I was told to call back when I had decided what contacts I wanted and quickly paid for the exam. After a week, I called back to order a year supply of daily contacts. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes before being told they would need to call me back. 2 hours later, they called back and took down my credit card information. I was told a confirmation email/receipt would be emailed to me and nothing else was reviewed or provided to me. Nearly a week later, I still had not yet received a confirmation email/receipt, yet I had been billed the over $500 for these contacts. I called to ask for a receipt for this large purchase as well as a status on the order because by this point I had already been out of the sample contacts for several days. I was placed on hold multiple times to then be told they were delivered yesterday. Yesterday? I had been home all day and answered the door each time a package was delivered. It is also brutally cold and I did not want contacts outside in fear of freezing. I was then placed on hold again so they could look at the order. It was then confirmed they were shipped to my OLD address despite me filling out proper paperwork when I first went into my appointment. I was then asked for my new address (again) and told new contacts would be shipped to me in 3-5 business days. No apology, no confirmation that a receipt will be sent, and no offer for additional sample contacts to tide me over. Needless to say, this has been too much of a hassle particularly when there are plenty of eye doctors in the area. After 10+ years, I'm breaking up with you Lenscrafters. Adios. read more

The lady I dealt with was unprofessional, rude, had bad manors (texting in front of me), and had sub average hygiene. Her name was SARA M. She kept trying to put me into glasses I didn't like ignoring my requests for other options, looks and feels, she would just down play any of my comments talking about herself...I am not sure if she was trying to get a date or a tip or what but it was very strange. After I finally just flat out told her I wasn't happy with the glasses she had shown me she brought me ones that were way out of my price range, insulting me about how much money I make and how I dressed she suggested I look at the women's glasses because I was being a B!t...you can figure the rest out. As you can guess I will not be doing business here in the future. All I can say Is be careful if you go there and DO NOT work with a girl names Sara M. Driving to work one morning last week, the little rubber string that held my lens in place popped. Lens falls out at 55 MPH (or so, wink wink) on the highway. Took the first exit and looked for the closest Lenscrafters. This was the location. I walked in, they greeted me, I explained my situation, and 15 minutes later I walked out with the glasses fixed for free with a smile. Frankly, I can't imagine a more customer-friendly experience. Could not get my prescription correct after two visits with two different optometrists. I have been using contact lenses for many many years and have never had any difficulty with getting my prescription correct. I was shocked that after two visits with two different optometrist they could not get it right. I ended up having to go elswhere and they got it, no problem. Maybe there equipment is off. read more

This specific location is beyond anyones expectations... The staff here is extremely friendly and they would quickly accommodate everybody.. I have to mention Caterine she was so nice even after 10 similar questions and she wanted to make sure I understood right...again I have no words to describe it!! 7 stars and personally I think that what makes this location unique it is the people!! Very disappointed in my visit to this Lenscrafters. I normally go to a different lenscrafters but the one in park ridge is closer to my work. The doctor was nice enough but appeared to be in a hurry. The office was very busy. That could be why. Unfortunately the first thing I noticed was her blouse was see through. It was very distracting. After my appointment I was encouraged to start browsing for frames because the employees were tied up with other customers. Understaffed would be an understatement. I found my frame but was unable to be helped for close to 10 minutes. There was woman at the front desk who appeared to be helping at least 3 people. She was doing her best but I grew impatient because the other sales person was having a loud personal conversation with another customer. Loud enough that I could hear the whole story about her ex-boyfriend from across the room. I thought it to be extremely unprofessional and that she knew I was waiting to be helped but continued to carry on and on and on about her personal life was so infuriating that I just asked to pay for the exam. When I asked to pay for my exam, the woman with loud obnoxious voice was very short and rudely said someone will be with you in a minute. My blood was honestly boiling at that point. I finally got billed for my exam and ended up driving to the Oak Brook location where I was helped immediately. I will never go back to the Park Ridge location. read more

I recently went in because I had stopped in before and met Kimberly who has an amazing customer service approach to newcomers. I had my exam and Dr. Joan did a nice job however I did not get the results I wanted (which was no one's fault but due to a different condition). So, I was unable to get glasses and was referred out. However? I cannot say enough good things about Kimberly, Dr. Joan and the other staff there. They were terrific and I highly recommend them. read more

I ordered glasses recently at this Lenscrafters in Park Ridge. They had a great selection of frames, lots more to choose from than the store closer to my home. The glasses weren't quite right and the assistant manager scheduled me to see the optometrist, and remade/adjusted the glasses until they were perfect. read more

I've been going to this location for about three years. The staff and the doctors have always been extremely helpful. My daughter, myself, and both of my boys have had positive experiences with exams, glass fittings, and contact lenses. My youngest was just fitted for contacts for the first time last week. The eye doctors were very patient during his exam and his "training", and the whole process was relatively stress-free. The staff was able to apply the proper insurance benefit, and went out of their way to find another manufacturer's (Acuvue) rebate that we were eligible to receive. I continue to go to this office because they get the job done! read more

I finally cancelled my order to go elsewhere. When they asked why I was cancelling, I told them due to the delay. They offered no reason for it and didn't bother to apologize for their complete lack of service. read more

I've lived in multiple cities and have been using LensCrafters as my optometrist, all locations have been great. This particular store is tops, though. Extremely friendly, helpful and the doctor I saw was fantastic. All questions answered and answered thoroughly and well. I highly recommend this establishment! read more
