I've been going to Dr Lowe as my primary doctor for two years, and also to Dr Zhoum for some additional testing, and I always walk away from my appointments happy. They and the other staff members are professional, pleasant, thorough, and informative. Just when I thought I was up to date on eye health and care, I learned a couple new things from Dr Lowe at my appointment yesterday that I'd never heard before, and once again I walked away with a smile on my face. Even sitting in the waiting room is fun - yesterday one of the display cases was filled with miniature vintage fire cars and trucks. My wait there wasn't more than a couple minutes, but that gave me just enough time to check them out! read more

The last 2 times I have come in for an appointment I have had to sit im the loby for over 30 minutes after my appointment time. By the time you get seen they are great, but if you think you are getting seen anytime close to your appointment you are mistaken. read more

I have not received my prescription which by the way has not changed. I have found multiple sites that still have the freshlook colorblends in turquoise. The staff is always professional and helpful. In our in person interactions ive never had a problem. However, They seem a little overwhelmed/understaffed. When i arrived for my appointment i had to call 2x from the parking lot before i walked up to the door and someone let me in. Once i got let in i spent the vast majority of my 2 hr appt in the waiting room inside. (I.e. once the tech had finished with me the doctor wasnt ready.) I called to order contacts and no one answered again. I had to call another two times on a different day before i got through to someone. I think its just a tough time to for healthcare in any capacity right now. read more

It had been a few years since my full eye exam. In 2008 I had to go to America's Best after losing both a job and my glasses. The exam was the quickest and least comprehensive I'd received in a long time. But I got what I paid for. In 2011, I felt it was time again, I went middle of the road, but was never really comfortable with the exam, while above the AB exam, still didn't feel as thorough as I wanted. My wife and her best friend both ended up here and I followed after their good experiences. No sooner than I sat down after checking in, I was being taken into an exam room, in all we did three different tests before I even saw Dr. Drey. Getting older takes its toll on your body and knowing my grandmother had macular degeneration, I knew I had to get more serious, plus I'm a photographer, so I kinda rely on these two things to make a living. Dr. Drey walked through my history while examining my eyes and we came to a new, lesser prescription, got some vitamins for my eyes (to stave off macular) and I'm now just waiting for my glasses. His assistant was super kind, so I had a really nice experience. Didn't end up ordering new frames as our coverage is a little weak to get frames and my current ones were little more than a year old so just ordered the lenses. Anyway, if you're looking for something beyond the strip mall eye glass place, PECC, is a nice place. read more

I have extreme dry eye, and Dr. Lowe was the only doctor that was able to help me be functional and get back to daily life. I really come to dislike this establishment. I've been coming to Professional Eye Care for over 10 years and ever since my insurance had been dropped about 2 years ago, all went down hill. I used to love my experience here; I knew all the staff and never had any problems. We were treated great and with trust. Due to personal family problems we had a difficult time sorting out bills but my favorite assistant Nicole always took care of us and let us take care of any matters at a later date. When I returned for my last check up before my insurance ended, I was taken care of by a new assistant. She seemed to be new and saw notes in their system that directed her to have me see the manager/Dr. I believe she was the owner who is the Eye Dr. at the clinic, but I've never seen or met her before. She had asked to see me either in public or in her office, with what I felt was a rude attitude. I opted for private if it was this serious of a matter. Due to our special treatment she had asked why my bill doesn't get paid, I was confused because I had paid my bills before making the appointment. She assured me it was my family bill which was not under my name so is not my concern. I felt like I was being interrogated and pressured to snitch on her own employee for letting my family have their eyes checked without paying the balance in full the day of. I left her office almost in tears, as I felt she was inappropriate and discussing a matter that wasn't in my control as it was my parents account. She lost a customer for sure. read more

While we love the eye doctor, our experience with the technician and one of the sales people for frames and optics was really bad. The technician was rude and inflexible to both my wife and I while the sales person was argumentative over how they should submit my insurance claim due to the year changing (what would go into 2922 vs 2023). Even though I repeated word for word what my insurance company told me to tell them, she kept saying she couldn't do what I was being told they should do. Another phone call to my insurance company and this time, they tried directly to rectify the situation by calling the office and conveying what they needed to do. Even that failed. What I particularly didn't like was being informed of stupid lies the office had told my insurance company (like are we still in first grade?!). Ultimately, my insurance company gave me the option of submitting my claim directly but I decided that really crappy customer service should not be rewarded. I'll take my RX somewhere else and get it filled. Bizarre that they would lose two regular annual clients - and while we LOVED our eye doctor there, it just isn't worth the rudeness and ineptness of others. read more

I visited PECC in March when I needed a regular glasses/contacts exam, and found out that my previous eye care professional did not accept my new insurance. I made the appointment at Professional Eye Care Center because my husband had been going to them for his exams for nearly 20 years. My experience with them was anything but professional, so much so that my first appointment with them will be my last, and they have lost my husband as a patient as well( a patient of 20 years). I waited an hour PAST my appointment time to be seen by Dr. Drey. He only half-heartedly apologized when I told him that I would have left in the next 5 minutes if not seen by then. The exam itself was fine--however, I had to pay an additional fee because I needed a contact lens exam. There was some confusion on my part as to what my previous prescription had been; however Dr. Drey gave me a sample pair of the brand and the prescription I thought I had been wearing. When I went to check out (2.5 hours after I arrived at the office) I was told they needed verification of my contact brand and prescription prior to releasing my new prescription to me. Really?! If he is the doctor, why would he need verification from a different doctor on my prescription?? Furthermore, what did the "contact lens fee" cover if he was basing his decision off of that of my previous eye doctor? Even still, I was told that they would contact my previous eye care professional and let me know when I could get my prescription. MONTHS go by--- I finally picked up a copy of my previous prescription MYSELF and hand delivered it to PECC. They print out my prescription, and the strength of the prescription doesn't match. They call Dr. Drey out to verify it, and have me sit in the waiting area. When he comes out, he begins to complain about me to the woman at the desk--all of which I can hear clearly from 6 feet away. He refused to change the prescription strength and insisted that the only reason he needed my old prescription was to verify the brand. THE BRAND?? He was completely unconcerned with the difference in the prescription strength itself. Dr. Drey is rude, and COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. He takes on a condescending tone with the patient, and it is because of him that neither I, not my husband, will ever return to them. I will tell everyone I know NOT to go here. read more

This has been my eye doctor for many years. Unfortunately, returning calls regarding problems and scheduling the annual exam during the past year has been extremely difficult. I had to send an email to get a response, after my annual appt was delayed over half a year. Finally, I got a call back. Since I have an eye disease as well, I was using expired drops as I never got a new prescription in 2020 at all. So now I feel it is time to get a 2nd opinion somewhere else. Definitely work on returning calls of long time patients. I was a patient for over 25 years. I feel it is time to move on. read more

Dr. Lowe has been my eye doctor for many, many years, at least 17, probably more. Yes, there are very busy days, and some less busy, but the staff has always been generous with their time, when it is my turn. Dr. Lowe is wonderful, and I prefer to see her. Admittedly, Dr. Drey had a bit of an arrogance when I saw him, but I chalked that up to youth. This is my preferred provider and am frankly surprised at all of the negative comments, since all of my experiences have been very good. I have never felt pressured to buy there, or take on upgrades which I do not need. Please keep a few things in mind: 1) Dr. Lowe is a highly skilled professional in this arena. She has speaking engagements all over the nation. 2) Can you get glasses / contacts online at a savings, probably. Will they be a good fit? Can you trust the quality? 3) No one has to pay for upgrades they don't want. read more
