The cashier added a tip without my permission. I was never shown the iPad screen so I didn't have the opportunity to add a tip.

BEWARE: SHADY BUSINESS! I rarely, if ever write updates but today's experience deserves one. I loathe giving small businesses a negative review but you guys lost a customer over a $1... Today, I passed by OTG - UN Plaza and saw Judie's Tacos Locos was there. YAS - I love their Fried Cheese Tacos! My co-worker never had one so I decided to buy one to split so she can try it (we just had a light lunch down the block). After ordering a Fried Cheese Taco ($6) and handing my credit card to the male cashier, I was waiting for him to turn the iPad screen towards me so I can tip and sign. But, he just handed me my credit card and said, it was done. Umm, ok. When I returned to the office, a receipt was emailed to me and I noticed a $1 tip was added without my permission: https://bit.ly/2AEu4KA. I always tip and I had intended to tip at least a $1 BUT I was never given the opportunity to. I don't appreciate the male cashier taking it upon himself to add a tip. It's shady AF. A dollar is nothing but how many unsuspecting customers are they adding a tip for? P.S. - The Fried Cheese Taco(s) wasn't as good as they used to be. Judging by the slew of recent negative reviews, it seems like the food isn't the same. =(

The only thing Judie's has to offer is a funny sticker or two.

Uhhh. I don't like being toyed with on any day that ends in "y" but especially, especially not Satur-Yay! Judie's, I've got a bone to pick with you. First of all, what decent taco truck doesn't keep cheese on deck? Sin queso, arroz y frijoles son muy malos. And if you do have the nerve to lack the vim and verve cheese brings to the table (or truck), you better have fiyah flame flavors--which were severely lacking from the plate of grub I received. Won't be back anytime soon! Catch me on a dumb, desperate and tastebud-deprived day.

Four tacos for $10? I thought I'd give it a try. I can't speak for authentic Mexican tacos, so I'm not sure where these fall. The overall flavor experience was good because I like variety. The carnitas taco was my least favorite. It was a little dry and lacking some flavor. The carne asada taco was okay. The meat wasn't chewy or fatty which was good. Like the carnitas, it was lacking some flavor. The Al Pastor taco was pretty good. I've never had pineapple mixed in with the taco. Is Al Pastor typically served with pineapple? I have one clue. I'm not sure if it was to distract from something else or if it was just a nice addition. I enjoyed the change of flavor. My favorite was the lengua. I enjoyed the texture and spicy kick. This was my favorite of the four tacos. I wish I would've kept a piece of the pineapple to try with it. Overall, four tacos for $10 at a food truck didn't seem like a bad deal to me.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this relatively plebeian looking taco truck. Because of suspicions, I veered away from the fried cheese tacos and chose a rather standard chicken quesadilla. It turned out to be one of the best I've had. It is one of those quesadillas that puts all the toppings on the interior versus a la carte. Something I usually dislike, but fell in love. The quesadilla was acidic from the onion, herbaceous from the fresh cilantro, and rich because of the chicken and cheese. It was not overly greasy. I highly recommend the red and green salsas they offer as well. Overall a clean tasty taco truck that I would choose over any other taco trucks if I encountered it again.

Seemingly yet another taco truck where you pick a protein to be served in a taco, burrito or quesadilla form with an optional "super" modifier of extra toppings. Except for the very important differentiator of the Fried Cheese Taco!!! Like some sort of crazy Taco Bell creation, but coming from a real Mexican taco truck. Definitely worth trying. Fried Cheese Taco w/ Shrimp: This is the main reason to make this truck a destination. A whole handful of shredded cheese crisped on the griddle. Like the crispy cheese that leaks out of a grilled cheese sandwich on the sides on to the griddle, but without the whole sandwich part. Placed on a tortilla then topped with a protein of your choice. It's so rich, you don't even need the meat, but might as well take it. So memorable! Grilled Chicken Taco: The blandest of the meats. Also, the meat tacos are tiny compared to the fried cheese taco. Grilled Steak Taco: Tasty, but could have been grilled/seared more. I've had better carne asada. Al Pastor Taco: Pretty solid. Nicely spiced and nicely seared.

A taco the size of my outstretched hand for $5 is actually considered a decent deal in Union Square SF (two tortillas, meat, cheese, and 2 slices of avocado). It was enough for a light meal and came with tortilla chips. They also have serve yourself green and red salsa.

A bunch of us ordered their street tacos. I got the 4 for $10 taco with different meats. Pretty disappointed. The meat was just not appetizing and it was way too salty and dry. I couldn't tell what was carne and al pastor. The carnitas was soaked and runny. Salsa that was served on top was also mediocre. Not a fan of the chips. I will pass.

It took a while to track this truck down. It showed up at a corporate parking lot and we swooped in. It was crazy crowded and we noted that people behind us were getting food. .???? We asked and somehow they lost our ticket. But they did the right thing snd comped us our meal, of asada, chicken tacos and a burrito. Pretty solid. Definitely will be back to try stuff they were out of. And hopefully it will be under less stressful circumstances..

I went downstairs (we were at Valley Medical Hospital) to get Ronnie since he wanted to come to visit Gavin, and so since we saw food trucks, we figured we should grab lunch. + Classic Chicken Sandwich for Gavin + Chicken Tenders and Fries for Ronnie + Nashville Hot Chicken for me (opted for spice level 5) Food did not take long at all. They accept cards. You don't have to tolerate/like spicy foods to enjoy a meal here. The chicken was not greasy and was crispy and juicy as well. Fortunately, a little after we devoured our meals (Gavin barely finished half of his), we were given the discharge approval since he was able to hop/use the walker and use the wheelchair. Different food trucks line up the drop-off area, convenient for staff and visitors to fuel up. It's never fun to be at the hospital. The hospital displays the QR code so you can see which trucks will be there, so you can plan ahead.

The husband and I came here for lunch on a weekend. Parking wasn't too bad, but because it is located in downtown area, expect some challenges. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but it moved at a quick pace. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side with limited seating indoor and out. The husband and I ordered the Grilled Cheese Nashville Hot and Chicken Tenders. The Grilled Cheese was tasty with a nice balance of heat and tanginess from their slaw. The Chicken Tenders were appetizing, but it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped for. It does come with sauce on the side, which helped. Staff were nice and service was efficient despite the growing line. Although a bit pricey, I think their chicken is good and worth trying out if you're in the area.

Whenever I'd hear about a food truck back in the day, the first thing that would come to mind is prepackaged food. However, those days are long gone! These food trucks are now capable of whipping up gourmet meals that could potentially rival any local sit down restaurant. At this particular location, the trucks only come out on Friday night, with 9-11 different trucks to choose from. They also provide live music and fun games for the family. They do provide 5 gallon buckets that are used for seats, and a couple of planks/boards that can be used as tables while you are scarfing down your food. Some folks just bring their own chairs, as those buckets eventually make your ass pretty sore. It doesn't get any better than that. ***Minus 1 Star for some of the ridiculous prices***

Today, I decided to order the Chicken Fajitas, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, it was the most delicious fajitas dish I have ever had. The portion size was very generous, and the sides were fantastic. The guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and black beans were all fresh, flavorful, and complemented the meal perfectly. This was my very first visit to El Halal Mexican Restaurant in the heart of downtown Willow Glen,…read moreand I've been wanting to stop by for a while. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.
