I'm not quite sure what to make of this food truck. With all the menu variations it's like they can't make up their mind to which route they want to go or perhaps they do several events and just keep all the menus up year around or something. It's a bit confusing, but mildly entertaining. I ordered my usual tester products a burrito and street tacos because they didn't have change in a weekday. I decided to get lunch and dinner and save myself time later. My items were made up pretty fast and luckily it was sunny for a few moments because there is no built in shelter for customers walking up or even seating at the location they were parked near West Hedding in San Jose. The food itself was perfectly prepared, great flavors, textures and color pops. They use regular paper plates, foil and plastic bags to package. Hopefully they'll move to paper bags at least so they can be recycled. Recommend if you're passing by and need a warm meal. read more

BEWARE: SHADY BUSINESS! I rarely, if ever write updates but today's experience deserves one. I loathe giving small businesses a negative review but you guys lost a customer over a $1... Today, I passed by OTG - UN Plaza and saw Judie's Tacos Locos was there. YAS - I love their Fried Cheese Tacos! My co-worker never had one so I decided to buy one to split so she can try it (we just had a light lunch down the block). After ordering a Fried Cheese Taco ($6) and handing my credit card to the male cashier, I was waiting for him to turn the iPad screen towards me so I can tip and sign. But, he just handed me my credit card and said, it was done. Umm, ok. When I returned to the office, a receipt was emailed to me and I noticed a $1 tip was added without my permission: https://bit.ly/2AEu4KA. I always tip and I had intended to tip at least a $1 BUT I was never given the opportunity to. I don't appreciate the male cashier taking it upon himself to add a tip. It's shady AF. Omg the tacos here are so DELISH. We tried tacos here when they came to echo church for their block party. I love how their carnitas came with little pineapple slices- my favorite. Four tacos for $10? I thought I'd give it a try. I can't speak for authentic Mexican tacos, so I'm not sure where these fall. The overall flavor experience was good because I like variety. The carnitas taco was my least favorite. It was a little dry and lacking some flavor. The carne asada taco was okay. The meat wasn't chewy or fatty which was good. Like the carnitas, it was lacking some flavor. The Al Pastor taco was pretty good. I've never had pineapple mixed in with the taco. Is Al Pastor typically served with pineapple? I have one clue. I'm not sure if it was to distract from something else or if it was just a nice addition. I enjoyed the change of flavor. My favorite was the lengua. I enjoyed the texture and spicy kick. Was very pleasantly surprised by this relatively plebeian looking taco truck. Because of suspicions, I veered away from the fried cheese tacos and chose a rather standard chicken quesadilla. It turned out to be one of the best I've had. It is one of those quesadillas that puts all the toppings on the interior versus a la carte. Something I usually dislike, but fell in love. The quesadilla was acidic from the onion, herbaceous from the fresh cilantro, and rich because of the chicken and cheese. It was not overly greasy. Judie's Tacos Locos taco truck was at the Cyclocross Infestation USAC local bike race this past weekend at Coyote Point Recreation Area in San Mateo, serving up nachos $12, street tacos 4 for $12 and burritos $12, as well as a variety of sides like beans, salsa, guac, shredded cheese and chips, bottled water, canned sodas and Jarritos sodas. I went with the chicken burrito, whole pinto beans and chips. I was hungry, so the burrito tasted delicious. I felt like it was getting a bit spicy near the end, so I gave the rest away to a hungry friend. The extra beans sounded good, but was unappetizing since it didn't come garnished at all. A sprinkle of onion or chopped cilantro would have given it some appeal. The chips were basic round yellow corn tortilla chips. Like the kind you would get at Safeway. I can't say much about the wait. I missed the rush or was in-between the rushes, so there wasn't a line when I got there. I ordered with two friends and all our food came out relatively quick. It took a while to track this truck down. It showed up at a corporate parking lot and we swooped in. It was crazy crowded and we noted that people behind us were getting food. .???? We asked and somehow they lost our ticket. But they did the right thing snd comped us our meal, of asada, chicken tacos and a burrito. Pretty solid. It wasn't bad, just "meh." Maybe good for someone who can't handle real Mexican food and prefers more muted flavors. The taco truck was at a school event. Two other parents I spoke with agreed the burritos were "meh", one of them was British, can't handle spicy food and still thought the burritos were boring. Within the first half hour, they ran out of Carnitas and Al Pastor, mine and my kid's first and second choices. Instead, we had a brisket super burrito, and a steak super burrito. The Quesobirra tacos are amazingly good and tasty but they are on the pricey side $12 for 3 tacos with not so much meat and a small little ketchup cup of consume. Glad I tried them but the hype right now for these expensive tacos will pass for now. Goat meat isn't that expensive compared to beef tacos so I'll just stick to Carne Asada & Al pastor. I've had Judie's on two separate occasions. Both times it's been pretty good. I also got the Shrimp Quesadilla both times because I'm a creature of habit and have trouble stepping outside of my food comfort zone. The quesadilla was delicious! They used jumbo shrimp, not those sad itty bitty ones you get in fried rice sometimes. It made eating the quesadilla a little more difficult, but I appreciated the fact that they were well cooked and coupled well with the quesadilla. The first time I ate there, I just got the chips. They were pretty good, but nothing all that special. I'm a sucker for some good Mexican rice, so I asked for that on the side my second time. I was seriously disappointed. This taco truck is the real deal! At work we have a different food truck every day and I never indulge unless it's judie's tacos locos. Their fried cheese taco is out of this world. I have a pretty small stomach and one is more than enough for me. Even the bigger guys at work say that one is enough for them too. It's fried cheese loaded with meat of your choice and then wrapped with a corn tortilla to hold it all together. And it's super cheap. Under $5 for a satisfying delicious lunch. I've only tried the steak so far and whatever it's marinated in, is fantastic! The steak alone would be a satisfying meal too. read more

I have nothing but cons: 1. They dont have nachos. But they have chips? My kids literally live off nachos when we go out. My son is gluten free and doesn't like meat, so nachos is the go-to. My sister ate here on December 21st, while they were located by the Macy's in the food truck park in downtown San Francisco. She ordered their shrimp taco. By midnight she was displaying all the symptoms of food poisoning. My sister was very sick for 4 Days. Once her symptoms subsided she still had terrible stomach pains and nausea for 7 Days. She went back to the hospital and after many tests were ran on her she was diagnosed with a bacteria obtained from contaminated food, water or eating utensils all of which I'm sure is on this filthy food truck. This place is great! The Fried Cheese Taco with steak is so yummy. I was skeptical when my friends raved about it, but I'm so glad I tried it. They fry a circle of cheese (basically a cheese tortilla), wrap it around the meat, and put it in a couple of tortillas with salsa, cilantro, and onions to top it off. It came out to $4.35 for one Fried Cheese Taco with chips and they're pretty big so you don't really need a lot more. The service was very friendly, but the wait was a little long.
