5 Stars for a magical music venue, tucked behind the giant performance arts center, with acoustics and guest musicians that will blow you away! I've been wanting to check out Judson's for a while, but mistakenly walked in after a show at the Dr Philips Center and thought I could just grab a drink and pop in for some jazz. This spot requires reservations and tickets to watch their rotating shows of local and international performances. This time we were armed with tickets we got on their website, and we even got to choose our seats ahead of time. There's a beautiful bar at one end, a stage, and round tables ranging from 2-4 seats. They have a food and beverage menu, but expect smaller dishes rather than a full meal. We got the cheese and charcuterie board and enjoyed it thoroughly throughout the show. The prices are stiff, but the venue warrants it. And feeling like you're supporting an incredible venue while having a great night out is a real treat. We're lucky to have this intimate, state of the art venue for jazz music in downtown Orlando. read more

What an amazing evening we had at Judson's Live! Tucked into the corner of the Dr. Phillips Center, this intimate venue is the perfect spot for a memorable night out. We attended An Evening with Tymisha Harris: Josephine, A Burlesque Cabaret Dream Play, with special guest Matthew Lynxwiler. Tymisha Harris was absolutely stunning, gorgeous, stylish, incredibly talented, and full of energy. She captivated the audience from the moment she stepped on stage until the final curtain. Matthew Lynxwiler was equally impressive, showcasing exceptional musical talent that complemented the performance beautifully. The venue itself isn't large, but that's part of its charm. It's cozy, elegant, and has a sophisticated atmosphere that's perfect for a grown-up night out. Once seated, we were given menus and ordered a Spicy Margarita and a Lemon Drop, both of which were enjoyable. For appetizers and entrées, we tried the French Onion Meatballs, Classic Beef Sliders, and Caribbean Tostones. The meat dishes were flavorful and well prepared, but the tostones weren't our favorite. Overall, we had a fantastic evening and left thoroughly entertained. Between the outstanding performances by Ms. Harris, the inviting atmosphere, mostly good food and drinks, Judson's Live delivered a wonderful experience. Came here one evening with some friends for dinner and a show. I'd heard that Judson's is great for a long time now, but it took me way too long to finally come. Ambiance is utterly incredible. Elevated jazz club, just enough seating, and a stage big and grand enough to make it so there's not a bad seat in the house. Really beautiful space. Service was just as elevated. These servers are very well adapted to sneaking around tables and delivering food and beverage at awkward angles. Good thing the show was so good, because I really don't know if the food came out timely or not. As for the food, it was good. We started off with the Cheese and charcuterie board (salami toscano, capicola, sage derby, brie cheese, toasted focaccia, marcona almonds, grapes & champagne peach jam). This was a nice little snack board. Kept my fingers busy during the show. I also had the Crab rangoon dip (wonton crisps, sweet chili sauce, scallions). This was a really nice little dip. Creamy, unctuous, and topped with a zingy sweet chili sauce. Loved the wonton crisps, and there were plenty of them. The last savory thing we had was a special flatbread. I forgot what was on it, but there was some sort of chorizo, and I was just really happy with the size of the thing. Regular restaurants hear flatbread and try to make them as small as possible, but this place really gives you a nice meal. We finished off with the Dark chocolate bread pudding (cocoa nibs, frangelico anglaise, raspberries). This was fun. It was baked in some sort of muffin tin, it wasn't very soaked, and the dark chocolate was dark. It wasn't bitter, but it wasn't sweet, so the anglaise is where you find that balance, and the little zing from the raspberries. A very nice, restrained dessert. I like it. Overall, I was a big fan of Judson's. The show and the food were very good, and I can see myself coming back here repeatedly. read more

Visited Judson's live for a late night jazz concert. Great way to end my Saturday night and performance and ambiance felt like a nice evening treat. You can end up with another group with some of the seating so that was a lil awkward at first since I didn't even think about it but it ended up being fine. Pros: Ambiance is one of the nicest in town. Swanky swank in the exclusive looking back end of the Dr. Phillips Center. Really stunning, classy setup they have back there. Service was good. Very friendly servers. The people we were with were regulars, and the servers know them very well. I love that touch. The food was much better than expected. Unique stuff with great flavor, and they even had nightly specials! Cons: Not a single con. Tips: The charcuterie board was a little unimpressive, so I guess that might have been a con, but there are so many good sounding food items, you can just skip it and get something better. I went to Judson's Live at the Dr. Phillips Center last night, and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone....beautiful space, stunning bar, intimate yet upscale vibe. It feels like a hidden gem inside the center. We saw The Byrne Brothers, an Irish/Celtic band, and they were incredibly entertaining. So much energy, talent, and personality, precisely the kind of live music experience that keeps you fully engaged the entire time. The service was excellent! --and the bar itself is gorgeous. We ordered the flatbread, which was pretty good and paired nicely with drinks while enjoying the show. I told people. I invited others I wanted to drag people. Something has gone downhill with the menu. This last time we went to see Cece Teneil for her Christmas show. The show, amazing, the atmosphere, amazing, the company, the vibes..all of it amazing...BUT the food menu, not good at all. I tried 4 items, none of which are cheap and didn't like any of it. I'm hungry! I ordered ceviche almost an hour ago, and never received it; I don't know why, no explanation, ignored. Drink was really good though, has Chambord, yummy. French martini. Waiter/server even took my utensils away, although I never ate. I mentioned it, hoping I'm not charged for food I never received. He offered me a glass of prosecco, bubbly, finally acknowledged... I loved going to see After 5 perform at Judson's live. The venue is beautiful and tucked away towards the back of the Dr. Philip's center. Every seat is a great seat because we sat towards the back and the sound was great where we were. The ticket prices weren't bad at all and I believe the food and drinks weren't too expensive either. Both the food and drinks were delicious and our server was very attentive. All of the wait staff were great at not blocking any view of the stage. Amazing venue with great staff! Parking is valet at one of the lots. Once inside the line was so fast, you got to your assigned seats guided by a staff member asap. We came on a night with Brandford Marsalis. As all the tables were sold out we got two bar seats and honestly I like them very much because they are super soft and comfortable, and you are higher up looking over the tables, with great view of the stage. Tickets for a show are not cheap and also require a two drink minimum. We had the Sazerac and Espresso martini. Staff was very professional however during quiet moments of this jazz concert: being aware shaking or crushing ice during a quiet moment is disturbing the show. The sound was amazing. This was such a cool venue to see Charlie Hunter. Worth the ticket price. Tables are on the smaller side so if there are 4 and everyone is eating something - good luck with that. We were kinda disappointed that someone had walked up and bought the 2 open seats at our table, especially since there were at least 12 other completely empty tables. There are NO bad seats in here, people - so go for intimacy over being "closer". Even bar seats are great. Food and drinks were mostly great. The whipped ricotta with pickled butternut squash was a really nice, light appetizer. Service is mostly good too. Overall, a great intimate venue for doing something a little different. read more

Super cool venue with excellent food and drinks! I randomly picked an artist to try this place out. Tickets are easy to buy online and reasonably priced, along with nearby parking that was a short walk to the Dr. Phillip's Center. My party of two was welcomed through a quick security check and checked into be shown to our table. There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. The vibe was a bit of an old fashioned but upscale lounge with velvet seats and curtains. Our table was at the very back and we still had a great view of the stage. Our server was quick to take our drink order and answer a few questions about substitutions for me for gluten containing items. The menu was marked for gluten, dairy, nuts, pork, vegan, soy and shellfish. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie sampler and pork belly bites. Both were fantastic. The charcuterie was a nice mix of quite a few things, that seemed to jive well. I would have like to see a manchego or a cheddar to pair with the berry jam little better than the blue and apricot cheeses. They subbed the toasted focaccia for garlic crisps for me as a gf option, which didn't go flavor wise but I appreciate the effort. The pork belly was a nice blend of sweet, spicy and savory and topped with a beautiful blend of microgreens. The performers were great as well! It's exciting to have a venue like this in Orlando. There are signs where they expect a $25 minimum per person but that's easy to get to if you're ordering a drink or any food. They have a pretty decent variety of small plates, a couple of flatbreads, and 4 boards to choose from on the menu. I ordered the crab rangoon dip and yellowfin tuna tartar. I was hungry enough that I ate both by myself, and probably could have gotten one more (yes, I was that hungry!) The entertainment is always great at Judson's. My husband surprised me with tickets to visit Judson's Live located at the Dr. Phillips Center to celebrate my first Mother's Day. I had been dying to check out this new music venue after hearing so many good things! Michael Andrew with the John DePaola Quintet were performing that day and we were able to catch the 7:30pm show along with dinner. Since it was a holiday, every last seat was sold out and it was definitely close quarters with the guests seated next to you. We actually even ended up sharing a table with another party of 3 since we were seated at a 6-top. The show itself is about 50 minutes and there is a one drink minimum per guest and advance tickets are required for the show are required. Doors open for food & drink service exactly one hour before the show starts and I highly recommend getting there at that time so you don't feel rushed. They serve cocktails, wine, and small sharing plates. The goal would be to get all your food & drink orders in before the actual show begins so that you can just enjoy everything while the performers are on stage. It also gets dark and hard to hear your server without interrupting everyone around you if you're trying to order everything after the show has already started. The band and singer were phenomenal and I enjoyed every minute of the show. The food & drinks were a bit on the pricey side for tapas, but we liked the beef sliders, beets trio, and pork belly bites. None of the food really wowed us, but that is not necessarily the main attraction and you're not required to dine in. I think in the future I'd maybe just do drinks and dessert. They are booking top of the line performers at this venue that is well worth the ticket price and I look forward to coming back for more shows in the future! read more

While my entree which we ordered in time before The String Queens started but did not get it until halfway through the set. Our dessert order did not come until five minutes before the show ended. Had to ask the waiter where was our food orders? They are topas size. There is a minimum charge of $25 per person food order. If you get a chance to see The String Queens, you will Love them. We had a group of 3 so we were seated at our own table but it looked like couples may have been seated with other couples; I'm not 100% sure on that though. There's a menu of several shareable, appetizer style food options. Plus a handful of drink menu choices. We ordered a flatbread, the cheese board, the meat board (it'd be really nice if they had a charcuterie board of meat and cheese), and the pork belly bites (these were my fave, with their slightly sweet but jalapeño spicy kick). The singer we saw performed for about 45 minutes, we thought it'd be more like at least an hour. Not sure if that's typical performance time or what. It was overall a nice evening out. This is such a fun venue for a date night! The room is beautiful and the service was excellent. Our bartender Mark also waited our table and gave great suggestions and gave great service. The cocktail list was a mix of classic and some with a twist. The food is meant to share, so for two people, we ordered three dishes: tuffalo meatballs, teriyaki fried chicken sliders, and chorizo arancini. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. We ordered and ate with plenty of time before the show. We sat right along the stage at a two top table and no issues with sound. Parking can be different even with valet. They closed because lightning /weather rain. So parking was away from venue downtown. A block in some directions and 2 blocks in another. They start on time so give yourself time to park and get to venue. They also end on time. Shows are not long. Usually 2 seating just enough time to eat, chill and move on. The rest of the Dr. Phillips center closed down so there was only one exit. Hopefully next time we can catch some live music. Awesome venue to catch a show - upscale, intimate, and beautifully designed. They did a great job of making it feel like a jazz club of old located right inside of the Dr Phillips Center. There are a wide variety of shows to pick from, and tickets are reasonably priced, so there's sure to be something for everyone. The service was friendly and attentive, coming over soon after we were seated to take our drink order. I went with the seasonal old fashioned which was well balanced and hit the spot. They have a full bar and a nice cocktail menu to choose from. My partner went with a glass of red wine from their fairly wide selection. The menu doesn't list any beer, but they do have some available, although from a limited and basic list (the same that can be found throughout Dr Phillips, I believe). When it comes to food, they offer small plates that are mainly finger foods suited for eating while watching a show (croquettes, flatbreads, charcuterie, etc.). We started with the cheese plate which was good, I especially liked the whiskey smoked cheese that paired well with my old fashioned. To finish the night on a sweet note, we tried the biscoff creme brûlée which was delicious. They did a great job adding in the biscoff flavor without overpowering the rest of the dessert. Overall we had a great time and look forward to coming back. My only gripe would be that the prices for are on the higher side ($18 cocktails, $18+ for most glasses of wine, $20 cheese plate, most tapas plates $16+), but I expected this going in given the venue and ambiance. read more
