This place is a diamond in the rough but if the rough were a homey little downtown area and the diamond was the freaking Hope diamond. This is THE BEST PIE I HAVE EVER EATEN. Reminds me of my late grandmother's baking, there is nothing better. While cherry pie is not my favorite, THIS cherry pie may have changed my mind permanently. Not to mention the pecan, OMG, this pecan pie is to die for! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The owner even came out to greet me and my family personally and offered up ample samples to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I will definitely be back and this is my pie shop from now on. We were there last Saturday (2/17) and loved it. The two women working greeted us warmly and offered us a choice of samples. My wife tried the peach and was very impressed (she makes a mean pie herself); I tried the blueberry, which is actually blueberry ginger, with a less enthusiastic response. I've had wild blueberry pie in Maine, and although this was OK, the pie in Maine way outclassed it. In the end, we bought an apple "hand pie," which looks like a fried pie but is baked (more like an empanada). Because we were going to eat it there, the woman offered to warm it up and told us to find a seat. She brought it to us a couple of minutes later (by this point the shop was crowded with customers) on a serving tray, sliced in half, and with a couple of china plates. It was heavenly. A hand pie will set you back 6 bucks, but was enough for the two of us. Their slices go for $7 and are huge. Nice decor, friendly people, good pie. What more could you want? read more

We've bought 2 pies, the first a coconut cream 4" The crust was so tough, we just ate the filling. Today we bought a maple peach pie. We warmed it in the oven and it completely fell apart when cut. And it wasn't that warm. Very little flavor. Mostly topping. read more

We went to JudyPie last night, our second visit. The pie did not disappoint! My wife had strawberry rhubarb and I opted for cherry.... but we tried the samples of blueberry ginger and it was delightful as well. The service was friendly and MUCH friendlier than our first visit. then Judy came out from the kitchen with an extra treat and I have to say she is as sweet as the pie. I was in from NYC visiting the Dallas area and my friend and I stopped by on Saturday night for a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie. It was the most delicious piece of pie I had ever tasted. The atmosphere of the shop is beautiful and quaint. A real homey feeling filled the store and what was supposed to be a quick stop for a slice of pie to appease a sweet tooth turned into a pleasant evening of conversation with Judy pie and delicious dessert! Needing to kill some time before dropping my cousin off at DFW my wife and I decided to walk around historic downtown Grapevine. While walking around on​ a brisk cold afternoon we decided to hunker down somewhere for coffee. Instead,​ we saw JudyPie and thought some pie would be perfect! The first thing you notice while walking in is the wonderful smell of pies. They also have some other things for sale such as seasonal items (gingerbread house kits) and other baked goods. I ordered the Peach Cobbler and my cousin ordered the Key Lime. The lady at the counter was extremely helpful and went over all the pies they had and gave us great recommendations. Instead of just cutting our pies and putting them in a box for us she brought our pies out on cute little ornate plates and silverware. It really felt like you were having pie at someone's​ house. There was a television on and it was at the perfect volume ensuring that the environment wasn't too loud. The temperature was also very comfortable while the outside temperature was in the low 30's. I really enjoyed my experience and food at JudyPie and I am looking forward to returning. read more

So this is my very first review and a much deserved review. I have been into JudyPie's a couple of times. Normally on the weekend and it always seems to be fairly busy. However, the customer service that I receive is usually great, even in the midst of the chaos. But as I visited Mainstreet Festival this past weekend, I must say that I received the best customer service ever from any restaurant I've ever visited. My family and I could not stop talking about how sweet this young lady was to us. I think her name was Marcia (spelling may be wrong). She went above and beyond our expectations. She was in the middle of the street with a 50% off pie sign and we just noticed how people were gravitating towards her. She stopped us and told us that we "Needed" pie. Our belly's were already stuffed, but she was so warm and welcoming that we stopped at their booth. My husband was hoping that they had pecan pie, but they were sold out. But she left her post on the street to go inside and get us a sample of the pie and to our surprise she came back with the last of the pecan pies. Not only that, but she also brought our toddler a nicely packaged chocolate dipped pretzel and she called him "little nugget". My husband and I thought it was the cutest thing to watch her interaction with our son. The Pecan Pie was absolutely amazing. A bit pricey ($12), but with the 50% off sale that they were having it was $6. However, for the taste of the pie and the amazing customer service that we received by this young lady, we would gladly return and pay the $12. We told her that we would come back and she welcomed us to come by on Friday nights and Saturday mornings during her shift so that she could chat with us. We will definitely do just that. If you have not gone to JudyPie to experience this delicious pie and friendliness of this server, you are missing out on a treat. read more

Terrible service and the pie was ok. I came in for two slices and was told I could only pick from two pies that were already cut (they still had an hour until closing), neither of which would've been my choices but I figured I would try it. Each slice is $7 and not only were they small, one of the slices was the last one left and it was a mess. When I asked the young woman working the counter if she could get me a real slice (since I was taking these to someone else), she shrugged and told me to take it up with Judy. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. And $7 for a mediocre slice of pie is highway robbery. read more

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our thanksgiving Judi pie. We ordered the apple (for $40) it was very sour. Nobody ate the pie. I will be going back to the Oak Street pie shop in Roanoke. They have great pies, consistently good and more affordable at $15 to $20 read more

Customer service was very poor. Drove from far away to be told pies could only be sold to people willing to buy a whole pie. Pies by the slice were not being sold even thought they had many pies for sale. Coffee was cold and not good. read more

I happened to be on a business trip in Grapevine this past November. A colleague and I wandered in to this great pie shop. Judy and her daughter were wonderful. I bought a pie for my colleague's sister who was housing us during our conference and 6 chocolate dreidels (which were surprisingly prominently displayed on the counter) to bring back home with me. So let me tell you... at first I was like "WHAAAAAAT" when I asked for a small cheery pie to go without asking the price and then was given my total. I couldn't back down because the pie was already boxed and in a cute little pink bag; after all, it was my fault for not asking. Since I had been on the hunt for some GREAT pie, I've been buying pies for over a year without success so the $12 really bothered me but I wasn't going to let that ruin my day. I payed and walked out. I wasn't all that excited about the pie since, like I said, I've been tasting pies all over the Metroplex since moving here and none have met my expectations. I forgot about my pie and left it in my trunk overnight. This morning, as my husband was cleaning out my car, he walks in with the pie and places it in the fridge and yells out "you forgot your golden nugget in the car last night" (obviously poking 'fun' at the price I complained about yesterday). I STILL didn't pay attention to the pie. We headed out to run some errands. When we got home a couple of hours ago we were starving... so many Thanksgiving leftovers to choose from so we stuffed our faces. After eating, we are sitting enjoying a movie and FINALLY I remember the cherry pie in the fridge. I get up, grab the pie, one fork and carry the entire thing into the living room with me. I cannot even begin to describe this pie other than... if you know pie, love pie, consider yourself a pie connoisseur, THIS IS the place to be. The tart of the cherries was ideal, the crust was perfection, and the sweetness was on point, overall, FLAWLESS! As for the price, WHAT PRICE?! If you know what you are doing, you clearly put a price on it and JudyPie knows EXACTLY what they are doing. Finally, after 18 months of searching, I have found my pie place!! Btw... between my husband and I, that pie was gone in less than 15 min!!!!! read more
