Having used this business for several years for dry cleaning & dress hemming, my daughter brought a bridesmaid's dress in for hemming, side seam taken in & shoulder straps shortened. The hemming of the dress was the ONLY alteration done! Plus, the straps were missing! She called Judy to explain & was told to come back in. I had to pickup the dress when it was done since daughter was working. Judy proceeded to tell me it was "too much" alterations! Seriously! She blamed her assistant for the missing straps that were later 'found on the floor". She took no responsibility nor did she say anything about not completing the alterations correctly the first time. She blamed my daughter for unruly kids when she came when they were sitting down watching a video for the 15 minutes they were there. I'm extremely disappointed by my recent experience with Judy. I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment for alterations on my $2000 Kleinfeld wedding gown. I arrived early at 9:28, followed the instructions to put on my shoes and hang up my dress, and was preparing to change. As I walked toward the fitting room, a woman of a lighter complexion arrived after me with her daughter. She was immediately rushed into the fitting room with my wedding dress, and the door was closed behind her. When I asked for my dress, I was told "it's okay," and had to insist to get it back. It turns out she also had a 9:30 appointment, yet she was prioritized over me even though I was there first. When I raised my concerns about how inappropriate this was, Judy laughed while I was speaking -- which only made it worse. As a Black woman and a loyal client who has brought Judy numerous garments over the years, including my engagement dress, this experience was both hurtful and unprofessional. Allowing a woman of a lighter complexion to be seen before me, with my property in her possession, and then dismissing my concerns, was unacceptable. It came across as discriminatory and disrespectful. I expected much better treatment and professionalism, especially after years of trust and business. read more

I have used Judy's a few times mainly for minor alterations. I must that Judy's business practices are a bit shady. She tends to set prices on how she is feeling on that day. IT"S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! She placed a patch on a pair of sweatpants and the patch was uneven: so when i returned to asked her to redo the patch she seemed to be inconveinenced. But the most alarming thing is that i have watched her interact with white customers and they are treated a lot different than minority customers. Needless to say I WILL NOT spend anymore of my hard earned $$$ with a business that treats myself or any minority customers that poorly. read more

I took 2 kilts in to be dry cleaned. The clerk couldn't give me a definite price, but said around $5.55 each, but it was a heavy material, and could be more. Double the price would be tolerable, but triple the estimate is unscrupulous. I came in and was charged $35. They should have an estimate guide on their prices. You should have a range, not just make it up as you go. The clerk didn't look happy working there. She must be used to people complaining about her boss's arbitrary pricing. I will never do business there again. If I had been told a max of 15, I probably would have just done one. With the economy like it is, there shouldn't be this type of arbitrary pricing. But, they're counting on people wanting to get their garments But, I imagine it hurts repeat business. read more

Brought 1 shirt to Judy's because I need it cleaned for prom this weekend. It was close to school, not near my normal cleaners, but getting to my normal place to pick up would be difficult prior to close. . The clerk (I assume was Judy) was dismissive and put out that I only had 1 item. She asked "next time, can you bring more items?" Who does that? There are plenty of dry cleaners that welcome any business. Lesson learned. Value your customers. read more

I took our dry cleaning and occasionally alterations to Town Oaks for 20 years. They were recommended to me by a friend after we moved to Coppell. They closed last year, so I looked on Yelp for another dry cleaners in the area and found Judy's high rating. Started taking clothes and other items there for dry cleaning, laundry, and alterations, for about a year. After a few visits, I took in a brand new comforter for my son's bed. They washed it instead of dry cleaning it, and it was ruined. Judy was very apologetic and reimbursed me for the cost of the replacement. In the meantime, I took in a dressy linen knit tank. Again, they washed it instead of dry cleaning it, causing it to shrink and become misshapen. Unfortunately, that's too many ruined items for me, so I will not be going back. read more

I am giving this review a 3.5 because of how long it took to get one pair of scrubs hemmed. I dropped it off on a Thursday and 1.5 weeks later I just finally called since they had not called like they told me they would and the girl acted like she didn't know who I was. Then said it will be ready the next day so I went in and they were ready. I have never had to wait that long for one pair of pants. The people were nice so that I would rate a 5. If I do use again I know I need to give it 2 weeks just in case. read more

I decided to take my $1200 Gucci suit here for dry cleaning because this place had the best reviews on yelp, I didn't want my suit to get ruined as I had read horror stories about other places. I also had some alterations done. Judy certainly deserves her reputation, the prices are a tad expensive but she gave me a discount because I was in a rush and I promised to bring some more suits in next week. Can't believe I wasted so many years on letting randos clean my clothes. Judy is Bae. She's turnt every time I go in, remembers all her customers names, has great pricing and does good work on tailoring as well. She isn't shy so be prepared for a conversation which usually takes a funny turn and you'll end up talking about the most random sh*t, but I wouldn't trade it for even a free cleaner. At first my clothes were cleaned better than any other area cleaner, then in the past few months I've had to take several items back for a redo. Recently almost every visit has had items that weren't spot free. Today's visit I picked up a shirt I had brought back for additional cleaning of one missed spot. When I brought the shirt back home and took a look, It had all kinds of stains on it that weren't there to begin with. This topped off the long wait I had while they tried to locate the shirt AND while I was waiting the cashier took a long phone call. Also of note, hours on the door don't reflect actual open hours. Have been using Judy's Dry Cleaning and Alterations services for years. She has always greeted us with a fabulous attitude and performed services with impeccable expertise. With the current situation requiring masks, I was having coverage issues because of a full beard. Since she has been sewing great masks during the crisis, I asked her if she could modify a standard mask into including coverage of the beard area and a week later, that's what I am wearing (in black, of course). My rating for Judy's Dry Cleaners for her suede cleaning would be a 4 or 4.5. I used her a couple of years ago to clean a dirty tan suede jacket and it came out beautifully. I now live further away from her cleaners, so I hesitated to drive the distance to leave three suede skirts for cleaning. I called the few cleaners in my area who clean suede, including calling to ask Judy personally what she would charge per skirt (The first time I called the woman who answered said she had no idea and would have Judy call me. Judy did not return my call). Judy asked if the skirts were long or short, and I told her that one was knee-length and the other two were long. She quoted me a price that was indeed less than her competitors, so I drove up there to leave the skirts for cleaning. When I picked them up, the charge was 25% higher than the quoted price. When I told the woman who was helping me that this was not the quoted price, she said "she had to charge more." Again, the cleaning looked thorough and very good, but I feel like the customer service was poor. I don't really even begrudge the extra cost, and I would have taken them there for that amount, but I feel like she should have either charged me more to begin with, or she should have called me and told me that she felt like she needed to charge me more for whatever reason she had for doing so, or even asked me if I wanted them cleaned for said amount. What choice did I have after the fact? Bottom line: cleaning 4 stars, customer service 3, total rating 3.5. read more

Judy's is awesome for both cleaning and tailoring. She has gotten out many stains that other dry cleaners could not and her tailoring skills are incredible. She has worked miracles on very ill-fitting bridesmaids dresses for my daughters and I've seen bridal gowns that she has almost had to completely re-make because other tailors have messed them up. We go to her for all our tailoring needs. And Judy herself is so friendly, warm and funny which makes for a very pleasant drop off and pick up. read more

Came here for the first time to get my favorite shorts repaired again. Of course, as a guy, they had been repaired 100 times before and look like Frankenstein, but I won't give them up. I brought in two of my friends' rugs that my rescue pup have relieved himself on. They were spot clean only so I figured I'd take them to someone who knew what they were doing. I tried a couple of cleaners around the area who were honest with me and said they didn't feel like they could get them out and/or didn't have the right equipment to do so. So I jumped over to Yelp to see if I could find someone willing to help and assess the stain. Jusy said she could get them out, no problem. So I brought the rugs into her shop and spoke with her. When I first came into Judy's, I'm not going to lie, I thought Judy was the sweetest person ever. She's very kind and overall a people-person. She works there with her husband and another helper. It took me about a week and a half to get the rugs back. I'm not sure if she forgot about them or what. I took the rugs in the morning after they got the stains on them - so I know they didn't sit on my end. If you know anything about urine stains and odor, the longer you let it sit, the worse it gets! So my suspicion is that these rugs sat on the back-burner until she remembered them. I go to pick up the rugs, just thankful that they were done. (As I mentioned, these were my friends' rugs and I was rather embarrassed about my dog doing this to begin with so I wanted them finished.) I see that the rugs are laying in plastic bags on the floor, rolled up with no way for me to examine the stain removal. So I go to pay, and my jaw almost dropped from the amount that she charged me... for two plush rugs - it was $65.00 plus tax. I let that go considering these were someone elses' rugs and I would just pay it. So her husband loads the rugs into my car and I drive home to drop the rugs off to my friend. I was confident that for that price, they had SURELY gotten the stain and odor out. That's where I was wrong. We opened them up at my friends' place and upon cutting the plastic back, the smell of urine was overwhelming. They somehow smelled worse than when I brought them in. (This is why I feel like they sat for a long time before being taken care of.) These rugs looked like they had not been touched, let alone washed twice! The stains were still very apparent and had almost crusted over. They were disgusting and you could NOT tell they they had just spent a week and a half at the cleaners'. I was angry that these were even sent home with me in this condition. I brought them back IMMEDIATELY just to show her how much of a mess that they were. It was completely unacceptable. Judy argued back and forth saying "We cleaned them twice!". I told her to smell them in the urine spots. She avoided those spots and smelled a different part of the rug saying "No, that's chemical smell!" while offering her husband and helper to smell the same part of the rug. They all agreed with her that it was chemical, of course, because they work there! So I pointed directly to the yellow, musty spots and she recoiled and said "Yeah, that does kind of smell like pee." So by now I knew we were on the same page in what condition these rugs were returned to me. So after that ordeal, she took the rugs from me saying if I gave her one more day the spots would be out. I refused and I told her I wanted a refund. (My logic behind this was that if you can't get it right the first two "washes" what makes you think you can get it right the third time? Plus these were not mine to give any authority over. It had taken too long to begin with so I just wanted a refund and I'd be on my way. Judy said there was no possible way that she could give me a refund, especially since she spent time and money on chemicals (which I find VERY hard to believe because they still smelled like pee!) She was very pushy in saying, "Just one more day! Let me have your friends' phone number and I'll ask her if it's okay if I clean them again." I was done. I took the rugs back and now I'm going to find replacement rugs because these odors and stains have been sitting for two weeks - they're not coming out now. I know that. As a business owner, I'm not sure how you could feel confident sending those rugs out of the shop, especially at the price she charged. That, to me, is a form of theft. I did NOT get what I paid for or even a partial refund for the time and trouble. So I'll be disputing this charge with my credit card company because this was completely and utterly ridiculous. Side Note: If she would have been honest up front in saying that she couldn't get them out, I would have been perfectly okay with it. Not every shop is equipped to handle urine stains, I understand that. But be honest. This is about so much more than rugs - it's about integrity. read more

I was hesitant to write this, but I think it would be helpful for this store's clerks to improve their attitude when dealing with customers... First I called to ask a few questions and was hurried off the phone impolitely ("I have a lot of customers! Just come here now if you want it today!") -okay, no big deal, but could have been nicer. Then when I get there, she's showing pictures of her social life with a customer in front of me, making me wait unnecessarily. What's worse, she didn't bother to review with me what I wanted. Rather, she just wanted to hurry up, get my clothes, and move things along. She kept demanding "Just write down your name and number!" I asked if we could review what I wanted done and she said again "just write down your name and number!" I said, "No, I want to know the price for my shirt first." That's when her sarcasm started... She would not even tell me the price for my shirt to be dry cleaned!! I asked how much will it be and she said "haha, so you don't want to spend a little money? Come on?" Um, no I want to know the price. "I've been doing this 3 years, I know what I'm doing!" she shouted. Finally she said "okay, around $10." The price wasn't as much the issue as it was her attitude throughout our conversation. I left the store and went to a different cleaners instead. Usually don't write reviews but I'm so happy with the great service that Judy provided. I brought in a white jacket that had a stain that had been on the jacket for awhile. Tried taking it to one other cleaner but they could not remove it. I had to get a dress altered so decided to bring it to her and give it another shot and I'm glad I did! She was able to remove the stain! The dress she did alterations on also turned out great! Would definitely recommend going here. Mr. Boyfriend needed a suit dry cleaned, but he forgot to mention that he needed it in two days for an event. I called numerous places, but there were all closed or in the process of closing. Don't come here for alterations. Maybe she can hem jeans, but don't trust her with an expensive item. I brought my $350 bridesmaid dress and she royally trashed the dress. I had pleats in places pleats didn't belong. The left boob insert was 2 inches higher than the right. I didn't even want her to add inserts. She did work to the dress that I didn't request, but getting her to do the few things I actually requested was a nightmare. I went in for 4 fittings before it was acceptable and had to throw the dress away after the wedding because her stitching ripped during the wedding. read more
