Seriously one of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. Great food, great portions, and everything came out fresh. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was welcoming, fun, and comfortable. You can tell they really care about the experience. From first impressions, Judy's doesn't seem like a 5 star establishment. It's an institution in Woodland that is showing its age inside and out. The parking lot on a mild Friday evening was also nearly empty, which is why, after the experience I had, I'm hoping this 5 star review catches someone's eye to drum up a little more business for this humble eatery. Judy's has been around since before I was born. When I was a kid I remember visiting a few times with my dad to get burgers and shakes (I seem to recall waiting for food on an old car seat? Maybe other people remember that). About 12 years ago, I worked in the office building just behind it, and would visit for lunch at least once a week--I remember the BLT being very good. This place has always been a dive, as far back as my memory goes. So don't expect a clinically clean interior. Everything is showing its age, including the massive menu covering the gamut: teriyaki, cheesesteaks, gyros, and of course the greasy spoon mainstays of burgers and hot dogs. After I got a new job, I didn't have much occasion to visit Judy's. They also don't exactly serve up the kind food you want to be eating every day. But I happened to find myself on the west side of town and was craving fish and chips, and could only think of one place to visit. I ordered online through their website, which was very easy, and they offer lots of options for customization. I really appreciated they had a 1-piece fish and chips, because, as I suspected, the portions are really large. I arrived about 5 min before my estimated pick-up time, and after a short wait the woman running the whole show came out and my food was already ready. She was so sweet, that on impulse I decided to get a shake as well. I wonder if the business changed management since I used to frequent a lot, because I don't remember this woman at all, but she was very kind. I discovered just how kind once I got home: not only did I have a generous portion of crispy fish and chips, but a bonus fried zucchini and what I think was a sweet potato plank. They really didn't have to do that, but I so appreciated it. Word to the wise: they leave you to salt your food, so if you are taking to go and don't have access to a salt shaker, perhaps borrow one from a vacant table to shake in your bag before you leave. As previously mentioned, the fish--which had something like a beer batter or tempura batter--was crunchy and delicious. The filet itself wasn't super thick, but the fish has a mild taste and was cooked perfectly. The fried veggies were also super good, and I LOVED their tartar sauce: so herbaceous. The fries are exactly the kind I like in this application: English style thick-cut chips. Predictably, the milkshake was also delicious (peanut butter and chocolate, so how could it not be?) So Judy's isn't much to look at from the outside, but it has real heart. Even though it isn't my style of food and is a bit out of the way for me, I want to continue supporting this business. They deserve it, and you deserve some delicious fish and chips. read more

Stopped by to grab a quick lunch. Don't be misled by the disarray outside: Judy's is a real gem. I got a cheeseburger combo to go. I was one of the first customers there, so it took a little longer than expected; I imagine they had to get the fryers warmed up, so no worries. This place has been in Woodland forever! Its pretty old and outdated, but still love the vibes. Not everything needs to be aesthetic. Ordered me a french dip. It's good, but nothing too spectacular. Usually I would order a banana shake which is really good. Service is always good and food came out fast. I need to actually get me a burger from here to try it out. horrible service! the older woman behind the counter (not sure if she's the owner or the owners wife), she is hostile and treats customers like crap. we have been going to this establishment for many years as it is a staple diner in our town but the way we were treated, I'll never step foot here again and will continue supporting other businesses in woodland that are customer service friendly and inviting into their establishment! read more

Sunday I went to lunch I ate at Judy's I order a Texas double cheeseburger fries and chicken tenders. The burger was good it was well served and cook right the fries were good and crispy The chicken tenders I highly recommend there good and well even though there store bought frozen there still good I been coming here for ever and it's the oldest burger joint here in woodland. The husband and wife run the place and well regardless of past experience still they got some good items on that menu price is a bit high but I pay attention to my food i recommend Judy's if you want to taste old school style burgers read more

Judy's is nostalgic. They make great flat top grilled cheese burgers. I always get the western burger and it's so good! It's got everything you want from an old school burger joint. The Curley fries are hands down the best Curley fries in town. The seasoning is perfect!! The milkshakes are nice and thick. Their fries and onion rings are always solid as well. The food has always been good but I went this weekend will not be returning. We waited to order and an Asian lady came out to take our order with a disgusted look on her face. I got our table to which I saw a cockroach then Asian lady said yeah yeah when I said something. I went to fill my drinks and the Asian lady picked up a French fry off the ground and put it back in the bag even though she knew I saw her. She is also missing tiles off the floor. I haven't been to Judy's for years. We decided to stop for an ice cream cone. Upon entering I waited for several minutes for someone to come to the counter. The time offered the opportunity to look closely at the kitchen area. Everything looked greasy and dirty. I decided that an ice cream cone wouldn't be a risk. A woman came out- I ordered two cones. She made one and handed it to me. She turn around to make the other and I had a lick from my cone. The ice cream just tipped to the side- nearly falling off the cone. When she turned to hand me the second one I showed her. She took it and angrily threw it in the trash while mumbling something. I had the second one on my hand and noticed the instability of the ice cream. I showed it to her- she said there was nothing wrong so I wiggled it and the ice cream toppled onto the counter. She angrily scooped it into the trash and said f**k you and walked into the kitchen area. she grabbed one napkin and returned to wipe the counter while I stood there with ice cream on my hand. She opened the register and handed me my money. I said I wanted to clarify what I heard . I asked if she had just said FU to me. She just stared. I said I just wanted to be sure so I got it correct in my yelp review. She stared at me with a furious look. I turned to leave and She started saying things in another language then said "you weird lady" and continue to shout things at me as I walked out. By this time a man walked in and was witnessing this whole exchange. He looked at me shaking his head and laughed. It was very clear to me why there was only one guy sitting in the restaurant and one of guy coming in at 6:15 on a Saturday night. This place used to be great but clearly changed ownership. The outside could use some remodeling, ok so could the inside decorating... BUT... the food is AMAZING! The menu is massive, in fact it has American, Asian, Seafood, Greek, and more for food styles! The popcorn shrimp was cooked perfectly, highly recommend. I ordered the Texas Pastrami Burger and it was heavy AND delicious. My wife got the BBQ Bacon burger and couldn't finish it because it was so big and tasty. The French fries are similar to Red Robin fries and are filling in themselves. However, the asian lady ignored me for 20 minutes (she saw me and told me to read menu), then she came out to help another person who came in and left to the back again.
