I thought it was blended pretty smooth, especially considering it had both chia and flax seeds in it. It also had kale, strawberries, avocado (the main thing I tasted was the avocado) & your choice of milks (I chose hemp as they sadly didn't have cashew milk). Its sorta pricy ($7-8 average) but I loved my smoothie. Calories are posted on the menu. Had they stayed open late on Saturday night I would've picked one up around 10. I'm a fan! read more

This is a really good place to start your day or stop by for healthy on-the-go food :) As an acai bowl-addict, I love their bowls. My personal favorite is Xo Coco since it has almond milk, chocolate and hemp protein in it (and granola, strawberries and banana too). Their shots are stingy but good! The Defender with ginger, lemon, turmeric and carrot is yummy!! Never been to fond of wheat grass but they have those too of course, at least healthy it is ;) Lots of smoothie options as well and I'm heading back soon to try my way through that menu! Juice Generation has an Acai Bowl smoothie rather than Acai bowl [which is generally a harder texture like a sorbet]. I prefer the thicker acai but enjoy the more liquid ones too. Juice Generation had a delicious bowl. The acai smoothie base was smooth and sweet. The almond milk really enhanced the flavor. In addition, the strawberries and bananas were fresh and sweet. Moreover, the granola was great too: very crunchy and also sweet. Finally, I love almond butter in my acai bowls and this bowl has an awesome scoop on top. On the other hand, I find that the acai bowls that blow me away feature an amazing honey that really puts them over the top. I stop in here once in a while to grab a smoothie before work. The line hasn't been too bad when I get in around 9 but after 9 I've seen it pick up. I believe all the smoothies are the same price ($8.95) which is a little steep but they use all fresh ingredients and I'm always full after having one so I can't complain too much. So far I've had the pb split, which is very filling. I couldn't even finish it the last time I had it. My only complaint was that it was a little too liquidity. I like my smoothies a little thicker. I Love Juice Generation. It's super clean and inviting inside. There are a huge amount of choices and add ons for your smoothie or juice. They have soup, salads, and bowls. A smoothie is basically $8-9 here which costs equal or more to the amount I would spend on eating out for lunch...which is crazy to me. But I was craving healthy + cold after I worked out one day so I came in for a green smoothie and ended up getting the Green Guardian! Having never tried Juice Generation, I wasn't surprised by there being a relatively long wait during the morning hours on a weekday. The workers are SUPER efficient in making smoothies, it's really impressive to see. However, I wasn't really impressed with my smoothie. I love both bitter tastes + sweet tastes and usually expect that to come through combined in a green smoothie with veggies as well as fruits, but this didn't really have a distinct taste in it. It also had a weird gritty texture that confused me... Ugh, I have such mixed feelings about this place. While they do have some items that I quite enjoy, they also fall flat on a number of items and overcharge significantly for others. It's very filling and the accompanying pesto sauce is delicious - and it barely has any calories! The kale avocado salad and Mediterranean mezze are also great. It's hard to find healthy, organic food is the tourist cesspool around Grand Central, so I'm happy this is here. I also really enjoy their smoothies, although they are SO overpriced. Joyful Almond and Mr. Greengenes are my favorites, but you have to buy a HUGE packet of protein that's somewhere around $4 if you want to add any amount of protein to them. The juices are actually my least favorite thing here, and I really have a hard time justifying the cost. Their green juices are SO green. I always feel like I'm drinking grass. Most upsetting is their Citrus Super C, though. For $5 (or maybe it's actually more than that), you get a tiny bit of fresh pineapple/grapefruit/mint (like, maybe 1/5 of the cup) and then the rest of your drink is pre-squeezed OJ. I'm talking the kind that they have circulating in a tank like at Orange Julius in the mall. How gross is that? Why not freshly squeeze it for all this money? We all know juices lose nutritional value the longer they sit out - and I honestly don't think they are replacing their huge VAT of orange juice every day... I just left this Grand Central location a few minutes ago. I work across the street and often stop in for an acai bowl when I'm running late and don't have time for breakfast (which is more often than I'd like to admit) I dropped my stuff off at work and snuck out quick to stop over. It's my favourite juice place in the neighbourhood for many reasons. First, the decor is clean, bright, fun, and the store feels like its buzzing with energy no matter how busy it actually is. If I want a treat, the peanut butter smoothie is my go-too acai bowls are really good meal replacements, although they are quite sugary so you might get a sugar high after (I always do!) I came here to get an acai bowl for breakfast and tried their aloha acai bowl. It came topped with strawberries, bananas, pineapples, bee pollen and granola. This tasted great in the beginning as this was the first time having an acai bowl with pineapples, but a few bites in, the flavour and texture inside my mouth felt sort of powdery/waxy. I couldn't really describe it. After forcing my way to eat half of it, I decided to stop and was glad I did. I had trouble breathing after and had the worst stomach ache for a good few hours.
