There were many options and even when you picked one, there were options within that choice. I felt a cold coming on so I got the vitamin C juice, and I felt better the next day. Not sure if it had to do with the juice but I'll act like it did. There was a line but it moved fast. Some confusion regarding paying (I hadn't, and they all thought I had, good thing I am honest), which I think is because it's so loud in there. Someone working actually ended up making my bf's drink twice, someone not realizing that we already had it and just needed to pay. So I think a better system of order/payment would make the line run more smoothly. Overall, quality stuff and friendly staff. I'd frequent here a lot if I lived in the area. read more

I always get the "Get Your Green On" it has just the right amount of sweetness, acidity and GREEN to make me feel healthy while drinking something tasty :) - I do wish is was a bit colder but they are happy to give you a cup of ice. I sneezed in whole foods, showering an elderly asian lady with my snot. She glared at me as if I'd murdered her entire family, and that's when it began: my bodily demise. It came slowly yet suddenly: the sore throat, the chills, the dread. I was making may way to Duane Reade in the pursuit of zinc supplements when Juice Generation caught my eye. I live nearby, but have always been scared away by the high prices (as a Tropicana chugging, McDonald's french-fry-eating insurgent, I vowed never to spend half of non-existent paycheck on liquified kale). However, on this particular day, I was desperate for strength, vitality, a cure--any cure--to the miserable malady brewing within my cells. I was drawn into the verdant space and took in the promising narratives on the black board. I was helplessly seduced by one in particular: Cold Warrior. Crazily enough it was served hot, just what I needed. The drink was excellent. Spicy, sweet, basically OJ on steroids. Unfortunately neither the vitamins in the drink nor the placebo effect was enough to ward off my sickness, but I am thankful for the pleasant experience nonetheless. After getting well I've returned several times for the Cold Warrior and the Ginger Fix. I plan on trying the other juices, smoothies and bowls sometime soon. Despite my aversion to health-focused-food-marketing, I am a fan of Juice Generation's quality product. read more

I've had a truly shocking number of smoothies and cold press juices during my months in NY for work, particularly of the green persuasion. And the Green Guardian, with spinach, swiss chard, avocado, strawberries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, flaxseeds, almond milk, and ice tasted revolting -- like drinking watery nut sand. There's no seating, which is kind of unfortunate, but it's mainly a grab-and-go kind of place. The design of this place is really fresh, just like their juices. They have a decent selection of juices, smoothies, and bowls. My favorites are their green smoothies and protein smoothies. It's great, because you can add veggies into the smoothies for like a $1 extra. So I like adding kale into my protein smoothie. It's all perfect potions too, not too big but not to small either. Started becoming a daily go to for me for the protein smoothies. I get the protein buzz or the protein knockout; however obviously their menu is diverse. The staff is courteous and fast. I mean really fast. The line moves quick, and you should be in and out in about 5 minutes. These smoothies don't come cheap however. You'll walk out of there with a delicious drink / smoothie, but your $10 (approx.) will stay behind. I think of this place as one of the highlights of my day. read more

I was debating between a 3 or a 4. The smoothie was good but service awful! The girl before me requested a refund because hers was taking too long. Mine was sitting on the counter for 5 minutes until I asked if I was mine, then they had to ask the rest of the staff who's smoothie it was, then they decided it was mine. I'm ok to pay $8 for a smoothie but I would like to enjoy the experience doing it... It's just good customer service to announce a smoothie or even put a sticker on it so at least I would have knew it was mine. Anyways! The taste was really good. I had the Mr. Greengenes. You can't go wrong with a health store that has an entire fridge worth of wheat grass and fresh coconut water. I fully recommend coming here if you feel the winter germs are hitting you or you're feeling run down or just in need of some essential nutrients to perk you up. For illness I recommend getting a ginger shot ask for that to be made or her one of their defence shots which ha said fiery kick to it plus their shots come with a slice of orange to take away any intense tastes. Knock one of these back over a few days and you will get a new swing in your step. The shots are great however I got a juice last time and I was disappointed for a tropical juice it was extremely watery and didn't feel like the thick wholesome juice I would normally get elsewhere. I've gotten a couple of fresh juices here, and it's pretty what you expect. What let me down here was the peanut butter split. I got it with almond milk since I'm lactose intolerant, and it was odd. It was thick the day of with an overbearing peanut butter flavor. It was so thick, I was unable to finish it and left half of it in the fridge. I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. I used to go every single day, sometimes twice a day, but it wasn't super friendly to my wallet. Especially with the updated menu, the prices have increased. The acai bowls are my favorite. They are really refreshing and filling. They updated the menu several months ago and I noticed that the new acai bowls tend to be a little light on the nut butters compared to the old acai bowls (PB acai bowl and Almond Butter Bliss bowl). I am so beyond disappointed with this establishment. They have a sign outside the door that says only eight customers at a time. This is absolutely absurd to suggest seeing as how small the space is. What's up with the sizing here? The smoothies are huge! Unless you forgot to eat fruit for an entire week, you can probably split one and save yourself the sugar rush. All kidding aside, Juice Generation is one of the better juice/smoothie stores in NY and it is always an excellent experience coming in and out of these stores. I think they go heavier on the bananas compared to other stores since most of the smoothies have a thicker than usual consistency, which is great because 1. I love bananas and 2. it holds up better in the summer heat. read more

There are tons of juice shops, and many are good. But this is best I've found. Acai bowl topped with blueberries and bananas was amazing. And the guy took time to make it look extremely appetizing by arranging the toppings carefully on top. You don't usually get that attention to detail at a walk-in place like this. What I liked even more was the prepared salad. Tried kale and quinoa. Whoa - so good. They didn't use vegetable oils either which is a home run given unhealthy that stuff is. The smoothies here are great and I have been coming for a long time to this location. The service on a recent visit was horrendous. The woman who took our order mistook it for another order. When we explained that she must there must have been a misunderstanding, (she claimed we asked for an acai bowl when we asked for a smoothie...I don't even know what an acai bowl is!), she repeatedly accused us of telling her that we gave her the wrong order. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional, even by NYC standards. I don't think I will be going back. I got the cold warrior (green tea, echinacea, orange juice, ginger). It comes as a hot tea so you can sip on if you have a sore throat. I got it iced and it was really refreshing and the ingredients were extremely fresh. My mom had their bottled lemonade (cayenne, ginger). My wedding is in a week...aka, I am not eating real food again for a week. I ordered the Supa Dupa Greens drink with the hemp powder. It was tasty, if a little too celery based. I own a juicer and when I make green juices I try to put the focus more on the kale and less on the cucumber/celery/watery greens. I'm a big juice generation fan. It is pretty pricey but it's so good I can't help myself. This location can get crowded early mornings so if you're in a rush, be prepared. I've never tried the smoothies but the acai bowls are solid. Their point system is kinda annoying because you have to load money on the app to get points which seems like a useless extra step.
