Used to be a regular customer even though when I went in, they often didn't have all their juices stocked and the juices dated one to two days before -- meaning they're not fresh. When I ask, they say they're all fresh daily. Nope, they're still trying to get rid of yesterday's and older juices. For the price, the juice should be absolutely fresh. Earlier today I placed an order online for juice delivery. Almost 3 hours passed, so I called customer service and was told the delivery was on the way. 20 minutes later a guy from the store calls and says most of the juices I ordered are out of stock and wanted to know if I'd like something else. The best tasting, healthiest juices out there with a customer service team that actually cares. Juice Press recently screwed up my delivery order while I was home on bed rest. I have to say that when it was brought to their attention they did everything they could to make up for it, and unlike many large companies, actually cared that they screwed up. Touting "organic juice, juice cleanses, and gourmet smoothies," Juice Press does not disappoint in the kinds and variety of juices and smoothies - and vegan/vegetarian raw yummies (that's "food") - available. Meant to follow other diet and cleanse programs like Blueprint and Organic Avenue, Juice Press has suggested juice and food combinations if you're serious about your whole food/superfood/cleanse person. Trying to battle a cold (and after asking several questions and thoroughly reading the menu (which is really only available on paper), I had two things: 1. A pressed ginger shot with lemon juice and cayenne pepper. YUM! Felt instantly better. 2. The "Love at first sight" juice (green apple, kale, and spinach). That ran me $14.08. Eek. Which is one of the drawbacks of this lush life my lovely fellow Manhattanites are living. It ain't cheap. I will shell out for an occasional smoothie at somewhere like LifeThyme on 6th Av, so this is comparable to that, but here's my main gripe. When I ordered it, I thought it would be made fresh, but the super-helpful woman working there simply went over to the refrigerated case, pulled out a bottle and handed it to me. Seems to me to be a missed opportunity to add the psychological benefit of knowing something was made fresh for you. At the same time, I get it - my lovely fellow Manhattanites ain't all that patient sometimes - so having it ready like that appeals to that crowd. Smoothies look interesting, too. "Fountain of youth" features a huge variety of antioxidant-rich berries, banana, hemp protein powder, agave nectar, coconut water, and "a host of complimentary fruity interests." Sounds kinda sexy, huh? And the "Harvey Wallbanger" has cold-brewed coffee, almond milk, agave, and ice. Nice way to start the day if you ask me. Raw foods range from chia seed pudding made with cashew milk and crushed walnuts to "X-ray Vision" (almond and tahini cookies coated with sesame seeds and raw chocolate) to raw turnip- and vegan cashew cheese-filled ravioli. The sexy, all-glass storefront on Jackson Sq is certainly alluring and has grabbed my curiosity on my daily travels past it, so I say let curiosity grab you and stop in for a bit of juice - and to pick up your very own "Don't ever yell "lesbian" in a juice bar" bumper sticker. read more

Damn, this place is expensive. I had $5 credit here via LevelUp and all the juices were still pricey. Note, the prices of the drinks are in the upper corner of the label and it's in TINY font. So many choices in their coolers... and probably more choices in terms of freshly made stuff. I bought the Masterade, which is lemon, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. I don't know what I was expecting... maybe like a little kick like a michelada or bloody mary or something but this thing was SPICY! ATTENTION JUICE PRESS: Your raw desserts are TOO sweet! Stop using agave because everyone knows its extremely bad for you - WORSE for you than high fructose corn syrup and yet you put loads of it in everything you make. I took one bite of the raw berry cheesecake the other day and I wanted to vomit. Agave is heavily processed and has a higher fructose index than virtually every other sweetener. It's sickening that you would tout these desserts as "healthier options" when in fact they are worse for you than a krispy kreme donut. ALSO...I can't believe no one else has commented on this but all of your packaged nuts and dried fruits, etc, for sale in the plastic bags taste like plastic. Writing because I didn't see the Juice Press location in Chelsea on 10th Ave. I frequent at least once a week and have probably ordered the Nurse Ginger Green smoothie 40 times. This time it came out completely watery. Mid smoothie the barista dumped a huge scoop of ice into the smoothie and quickly shot a glance my way to see if I was looking. I was. But regardless she served t to me and I took a sip. As I expected completely watered down. I asked if she could put some ginger juice in it and she looks and goes we just have pulp. Mind you there is a huge grab n go fridge with so much ginger Ok customer service if I paid five bucks for the smoothie not $10+. Super disappointed in not only the quality but of the lack of recovery. Best believe next time I will not settle for a ten dollar green tap water:( read more

My friend and I were on our way to the Chelsea Market and this place caught my eye. I got the "OMG! My Favorite Juice" and let's just say it couldn't be further from the truth. The celery and parsley were overwhelming and $11 is just a ridiculous price to pay for ordinarily very cheap herbs. The carrot juice my friend got, however, was creamy and sweet. Juice Press is OK, but not as nice as it was about a year ago when I first started going to this location. The store used to be much livelier, friendly and helpful staff, and they often had sales/deals on their dried fruit/nuts, which were delicious! They still are delicious, but way overpriced...as is everything here. I've never tried a fresh smoothie, usually stick to one of their veggie + fruit juices. The juice itself is not bad, and some of them are really tasty, but it's hard to get past the price of $10/bottle. These days, the store is often out of stock on their juices, which is odd; the staff is not nearly as helpful as they used to be, which I don't mind that much, but a little service would brighten the mood. It happened already that I waited 30 minutes for a smoothie, smoothies are not smooth or find hard pieces of almonds... This is one of those places that you hate to love. Juice Press juices make me feel fresh, healthy, and BROKE. With their variety of juices, it is difficult to leave with only one. Much to my dismay, this means spending $15-30 each visit. This is the worst Juice Press location. I spend hundreds of dollars a month on Juice Press, but the staff here SUCK. I came in with my niece, who has a developmental disability, and some of the workers here were making fun of her, in front of me. I don't know if they thought I didn't realize this, but I was so disgusted to witness such ugliness of character. I have had positive experiences at other Juice Press stores, so I will continue purchasing their products because I really do think they do it best, but seriously, the people working here are horrible.
