Enjoy the food and the staff is friendly, but a couple drawbacks exist.... First, the facility is way too small, cramped, and not climate controlled. Second, like too many Ann Arbor spots (zingermans and Jeffersons market, I'm looking at you), the logistics of ordering and getting your food is ridiculously disorganized and/or over-engineered. Amazing service and even better food. I stop in once every week or two for lunch and have never been disappointed. They have a small dining room but when it's nice outside they have tables set up on the walkway in front of the restaurant. This is the best brunch place I have ever been to. And is my personal favorite place to get something to eat. Their hours start early and they close by 3 on the weekday and 2 on the weekends. Ordered the breakfast burrito and was very happy with what came. Potatoes were cooked perfectly, not too hard, and the ratio of the ingredients felt perfect for a breakfast burrito. I will start by saying this is my first time at the Juicy Kitchen. It was recommended to me by a friend and the same goes for my mom who shared this experience. Upon entering, I was instantly comfortable in the cozy setting with small tables, a beverage bar at which you may order coffee, and the counter to order your food. Behind this counter were three young ladies smiling back at us, welcoming us in and asking if this is our first time. We were handed menus with a brief explanation of what the specials are, that the veggies they serve are all seasonal, and to sit where we like. Upon sitting with our water an tea, I was pleasantly surprised to see orange slices in the pitcher which gave the water a wonderfully refreshing twist. I have never seen this anywhere else. My mom ordered the grapefruit juice which looked freshly squeezed. I tried a sip (half expecting it to taste like a sugary store bought product) but it was like sticking your straw in a ripened grapefruit and slurping straight from the source. Yum. (I may have "sipped" half of her glass..) The menu is nice and simple. Knowing they serve what is in season and seeing things like kale, avocado, and Quinoa are present in most of the food options was a welcomed change to the usual greasy breakfast and lunch options I'm accustomed to. The food is healthy without the feeling of being snobbish. I ordered the baked eggs which included kale, sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, topped by a baked egg and sriracha with a piece of amazing, seed and nut filled toast. Upon taking my first bite, I was IMMEDIATELY in heaven. It sounds so cheesy, but it's true. I believe I used the word "outstanding" about eight times while inhaling the rest of my plate. Before heading out the door, I stopped at the counter to tell them this is the best breakfast I have had since I don't know when. First time there after hearing great reviews every where I went. A friend of mines took me there and as soon as you walk in the door the service was outstanding. Really appreciated the size of the menu so you were not over whelmed and that the dishes had a twist of local ingredients. I personally had the special of eggs benedict. The eggs were perfect poached and the mixture of greens on the side with the dressing really gee this ordinary dish light, The ingredients really played very well together. The order of chicken sausage that I had ordered was spectacular Very well seasoned and would not even know that it was chicken. With the chicken sausage the only meat protein on the plate I was beyond impressed on how filling and satisfying it all was. There were many other components on that plate like the apples brought it all together. My friend order the stuffed French toast. may I say AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was not overly sweet and was cooked perfect. Crispy and not soggy from the inside out. The filling complimented the bread very well. Of course the number one thing that goes with French toast is bacon, so BRING IT ON. The only recommendation that I would make is making candied bacon. The sweet and heat on that would of complemented evetything on the plate a little better but everything was still great. Of course to top off the meal coffee by the mug full and great conversation from the server made this day a very remarkable experience. One of the best restaurant experiences yet! They have a couple bar stools at the counter; my friend and I decided to sit there and face the kitchen. Everyone was super nice! The owner, Susan, talked and joked with us pretty much the whole morning. I think we were there for 3-4 hours! She also made me a great cappuccino. The food is excellent, although I feel like I'm being heavily penalized for wanting meat. But I guess that's good for the vegetarians out there. Everything is sourced locally and it's good quality, so expect to pay more than you would at the Broken Egg or Denny's (please don't ever go to Denny's). This place rocks! Go try it. read more

We had our second visit to this great little place recently. The food is outstanding! There's something for everyone: Vegan, seasonal, and local foods that are expertly cooked and delicious! But the best part of this great little business is the owner and staff! They let us in the shop 20 minutes early so we wouldn't freeze and passed out fresh hot coffee. This place is a somewhat hidden gem! 10 mins from campus but totally worth it for the food. I had the #1 Slider and a peanut butter, quinoa cookie and they were amazing. The cookie was especially impressive. Since I have a huge sweet tooth, I was a little skeptical on the cookie at first. But it turned out to be sweet and full of flavor with an enjoyable texture. However, the service is a little lacking. Because it was my first time going, I was confused on the ordering/seating process. Instead of politely helping me out or explaining things, the people that worked there seemed annoyed and rushed. The place is small and seems to be run by youngsters. But the ingredients, preparation and service is BIG -- GREAT! Fresh ingredients and good food. We went for a Saturday morning brunch: although it was freezing cold, the place was PACKED, in and out. You've got to wait outside (and get on a wait list) to sit inside, but we chose to sit outside and eat (they had little mounted wall heaters and blankets). The service and food was well worth. Even the hot chocolate was exactly the way I wanted (not too sweet, unlike ALL the other places). We had the Baked Tempeh and Hot Mess. Both were excellent and filled with good ingredients and perfect combination. The special that day was a tomato coconut soup - you could taste the freshness and delicate marriage which I had not had between these two before. Sure an outstanding choice for brunch! While I am a Miami native, I stumbled across this little spot when I visiting Ann Arbor last year for business. The Juicy Kitchen is a cozy little restaurant with great service and excellent menu options. Both times, I have come in for breakfast and I have yet to be disappointed. Their coffee is excellent and the food is truly delicious, and get this, healthy! During my last visit, I ordered their special veggie omelet and it came with mixed greens, fruit, and whole grain toast (be sure to ask for the jelly too). I wish I had a spot similar to the Juicy Kitchen in Miami, but it will absolutely remain on my list of "Must Visit" when in Michigan. read more

One bathroom through the kitchen that you have to wait forever for. Now the food from what I saw looked amazing which is why I came here and waited forever to eat here. I wanted the French toast cause of all the great, rave reviews it got! It was disgusting! Hard bread, not hot at all! It comes with fruit... I got one raspberry, one pineapple slice, one watermelon slice and a half a strawberry. All tiny slices. The French toast was pieces of toast that were half the slice of regular bread!!!! It amazed me that most plates coming out of the kitchen were big and full of food but mine looked like a child's plate with stale food on it! Very disappointing!!! read more

What a pleasant surprise! From the outside, I was expecting just another hippy-dippy juice bar with the requisite hommus n' sprout wraps and unseasoned raw vegan whatnots. But no! The baked egg with vegetable hash and bok choy came with some of the most savory, melty, caramelized onions (done the real way) that I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The vegetables were so fresh and flavorful, a welcome addition to my plate at the end of winter. The oatcakes were hearty and moist. Split pea soup was light and delicately flavored with tarragon. Normally I raise an eyebrow toward baked goods that include millet, but the crackly banana bread was incredible. The table next to us ordered the stuffed french toast which was huge and looked amazing, as did the omelet. Everything came with a side of beautiful berries and fruit. Orange juice was freshly squeezed. JK has mastered the delicate balance of making food both healthy and delicious. The menu offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for something light or heavy, and has plenty of options for those with particular dietary needs.
