I was craving some Soul Food and my fiancé suggested this place. This is a black-owned restaurante that express Black History and togetherness. The customer service was great. It was very pleasant and a vibe. I will différently come back to try more food. First I ordered the oxtails but I did not like it and she was very understanding and gave me wings. I ordered Smothered Porkchops (tough, unseasoned, and white gravy), dressing (got mashed potatoes with that same nasty gravy), and cabbage (too much salt and crispy). Next order 4 whole wings (no seasoning), broccoli rice (got macaroni and cheese), and black-eye peas (got green beans). Well I tried this location out sometime back and noticed it was still pending in my drafts. I went the weekend my godson was here for a basketball tournament. I heard this was good soul food so since I was in the area I thought why not try it out. The food was okay and I could be a little bias as I grew up on some amazing soul food through my Grandma. Thankfully my sister and I discovered this place during our Ft Worth field trip to get our Covid-19 vaccine shots. This is our 2nd visit and really like this place Soul Food spot. I called to see if they could do anything to correct it because my daughter did not eat the food at all because it was just that bad. They were not willing to do anything to make it right and to me, that is just poor customer service. If you can't have the good stuff (you know, salt/dairy/meat) you may not have options here. We usually do takeout. We've had their porkchops and fried chicken (both tasty). The mac and cheese is standard (still good). Their mashed potatoes, as others have said, do not taste homemade. I don't mind, especially when they are covered in gravy, but just know what you are getting into. Their portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. We've done their breakfast buffet as well and it is as no frills as you can get, but very good and an amazing value. It's really more brunch food, a mix of savory lunch items like fried chicken with more breakfast foods like scrambled eggs or waffles. I prefer their dinner items personally (I don't care for the seasoning used on a lot of the breakfast items), but I brought my father here once and he loved it (he can pack it away too so he left very satisfied). This place has the best soul food I've ever tasted in my life. My boyfriend had a soccer game at Texas Wesleyan in Ft. Worth, so we decided to grab some food around there. I looked at restaurants on apple maps and found Stormie Monday's! My boyfriend ordered a 2 piece catfish extra crispy and he ended up with 4 huge pieces of crispy delicious catfish. It was perfectly cooked! Thick enough cuts to have enough fish, crispy enough, but didn't fall apart at all. The mac and cheese was to die for, yams were OUT OF THIS WORLD, green beans and pinto beans were amazing!! I highly recommend going to this place! Any drive is worth it!
