    Wings Cabbage sweet potatoes cornbread
    Marsha A.

Soul food at its finest! While in Fort Worth for my granddaughter's basketball tournament and my son's birthday weekend, I had the chance to catch up with a friend. She suggested we try Stormie Monday, and I'm so glad she did! I ordered the 3 Chicken Wings .. yep I took a bite ‍ with cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread, and it was comfort food at its best. The wings were crispy and full of flavor, the cabbage was tender and well-seasoned, and the sweet potatoes had that perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The cornbread? Soft, warm, and just right. Beyond the food, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming. It's the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. If you're ever in Fort Worth and craving some good, home-cooked soul food, Stormie Monday is a must-visit! Must-Try: Chicken Wings with cabbage and sweet potatoes Best Part: Feels like a home-cooked meal Great food, great service, great experience! Definitely a spot worth returning to!

I normally don't post, but this made me mad. Stoney's Place (Stormy Monday). Quality of food and customer service has gone downhill. I ordered Smothered Porkchops (tough, unseasoned, and white gravy), dressing (got mashed potatoes with that same nasty gravy), and cabbage (too much salt and crispy). Next order 4 whole wings (no seasoning), broccoli rice (got macaroni and cheese), and black-eye peas (got green beans). I didn't check before I left because in all the years I have been going to them I never had a problem. Call back and they said I should have checked before I left and there was nothing they fould do. My response - No problem. I won't be back and I'll share my opinion with others. The power of the pen is still mighty.

Ordered a doordash order just to receive the wrong order Restaurant worker was rude and hung up in my face after explaining that they messed up the order and that I can "come pick it up today or tomorrow " when I clearly paid for a delivery order... Not to mention the order that had everything they sent was burnt... Now I see why people talk about bad about em

Don't let the outside fool you. Go inside. Order first, have a seat. Not much seating. Get your own drink. Pick up your food where you ordered. First time we came I got the smothered pork chops. Good, tender, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth. Loved the cabbage. The banana pudding was fire. Second visit, got the oxtails!! So good and tender. Definitely coming back.

~ VERY RUDE MANAGER on Sunday; October 30th...... Close ta Halloween, so it must've been that HALLOWEEN SPIRIT that caused her ta act like-uh WITCH, RiiiiiGHT??!! LoL ') 2nd time IN A ROW that my Uber Eats order was messed up, but since I used ta LOVE THOSE FOLKS, Iiiii WANTED ta give them another chance. Okay. First order...... The mashed potatoes were SO SALTY that they were not EDIBLE. (EVEN WORSE TODAY!!! GEEZ) Today, they gave me cabbage instead of cucumber salad& the potatoes were AWFUL. RUNNY, TOOOOO SALTY (!!!!) AGAIN!!!! JEEZ. The fried pork chop was VERY small& slightly burned. Forgot ta take a pic, but Iiiii am a SOUTHERNER- KNOOOOOW MY PORK CHOPS. (The FIRST time I ordered, the pork chop was ON POINT. JUICY. CRISP. PERFECT. !!) But I just think that these guys just bit off more than they could chew, doing Uber Eats. Sunday's, they are friggin SLAMMMED. So, I guess Iiiii SHOULD'VE waited to order another day, but I just kept DREAMIN about that PORK CHOP. TOTALLY DISSAPOINTED& MIGHT have forgiven them, but the manager was SUPER RUDE. Said they promised a 100% refund, so 'just call Uber Eats' WELL. It DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY, SWEETHEART!! They MAY or MAY NOT give me a refund. &Ms Lady, WHOEVER YOU ARE, if a customer takes the time to call you& you are BUSY, why not just politely SAY THAT& offer a better time for me to call back?? Instead of being RUDE& HANGING UP ON A CUSTOMER?? The fact that your potatoes were too salty too eat& TWO DIFFERENT TEXTURES from day to day is something that ya NEED TA KNOW. RUDE.

Service was great and all our food was amazinggggggg! Something about picking up soul food with out spending hours making it yourself just hits different. Getting a side of greens is a must you have to. Ans everyone was picking up dessert too. We had banana pudding and chocolate cake. Do yourself a favor and come try it here for dine in or take out!

Thankfully my sister and I discovered this place during our Ft Worth field trip to get our Covid-19 vaccine shots. This is our 2nd visit and really like this place Soul Food spot. The meats are seasoned well and fried just right! BONUS: They do not cross contaminate the grease (unlike Pappadeaux's). The sides we've tried have been pretty tasty. My favorite so far is the black eyed peas & rice (with brown gravy). Last but not least, I give the Pecan Pie a 10! My sis said the banana pudding was ok, too. If you're in Ft Worth, I recommend dropping by Stormie Monday's. Yes, they take call-in orders. The earlier, the better. Oh, you will need some patience & skill with the parking lot (... We learned best to park in back or the side...)

3 oxtails w/no gravy, black eye peas w/ random green beans, 2 whole pieces of sweet potatoes. No lids only plastic bags. 2 plates $53!!
    Joy H.

Saddened to say probably won't be visiting here again anytime soon. There were LITERALLY 3 oxtails w/no gravy, tiny side of black eye peas with random green beans mixed in and two whole pieces of sweet potatoes.... Two plates like this total $53!!.... Oh! Don't forget the Koolaid that didn't have a lid that no one said anything about prior. So when we went to ask they gave us plastic bags to wrap around? GREAT except DFW streets are hella bumpy... #BOR we MUST do better if want to keep the support going. I Refuse to pay all this money for A KIDS PLATE.

SOLID Soul Food!!! Building is a little intimidating, unmarked, screens on the windows and doors,…read morebut the inside is quaint and friendly....and the owner is a sweet lady with a friendly smile and great conversation.... Tried a to go order of the neck bones with gravy (dont forget the gravy!!), greens, and black eye peas....the food was delicious!!! Greens may be some of the best I have had in years, and the peas were equally delicious...next time will try the ox tail... Hoberts is a bit off the beaten path for North Fort Worth and mid-cities residents...but worth a try if you are in the mood for good home cooking...soul food!!!

The food was not warm at all. The strawberry cake was from a box. I do know what soul food is as…read moreI was born and bred in the birthplace of soul food...Mississippi. I have eaten at a LOT of soul food restaurants and this was the first time I received a box cake. I ordered baked chicken...bland but for the salty grayish white gravy that was poured over it. I also had the cabbage....zero thermal heat and the yams...sweet but not complex. The cornbread was room temperature and hard. The tea was syrupy sweet with very little tea flavor. This place was a huge disappointment. The only bonus is the portion size of the sides. Other than that, there were no pros. As the owner uncovered the sauce less pigs' feet, the dry neck bones and the heatless macaroni goulash, I apparently was rude because of my facial expression, I.e. I was shocked and fairly disgusted by the lackluster food appearance. I've never seen neck bones that aren't in their juices or pigs feet either!!!! Alas, my dear hubby is an eternal optimist and didn't want to be rude. So I went along and ordered, but barely picked at the baked chicken. The owner lectured me on my rudeness and how much I had to learn about life and how to talk and deal with people. I pointed out that I was an attorney and I deal with people all the time. However she raised her voice and told me about all FIVE of her degrees in engineering, business administration, etc. and who my law degree didn't mean anything to her. Lol... Looking back, I am sure her feelings were hurt as a result of my shock and disgust. Well, if the food was hot and actually flavorful (as true soul food is), there would be no reason to look shocked and disgusted. There is no excuse for a gravy that is salty and poured over just about every dish. If you are taking the money of the hard working people in that neighborhood, shouldn't you provide quality food? Not to mention it is fairly inexpensive commodity dishes that are being served! If your serving table is defective, care enough about your product and get another one that ensures the food is actually HOT! The food was of poor quality. The owner was rude and confrontational. I would not recommend this place.
