My husband found the Red Barn Bar BQ a few days ago and could not wait to go back - so there I was - a Saturday afternoon where the heat was over 86 degrees. And it was the best brisket I have eaten so far. It wasn't heavily smoked (so I didn't taste it for the rest of the day) and I didn't feel heavy and had that normal regretting feeling l have when eating this when it's warm outside. Great service and good food. Portions were massive. All of the meat we tried (chicken, ribs, brisket) was fall of the bone tender. I liked their jalapeño cheddar sausage too. Been there don't that, won't repeat. We've always driven by this place and read the reviews and decided to try it. I think their chef must be a smoker because the seasonings were too much. We tried fries, not cooked enough and extra extra heavy on the salt. The green beans had too much salt and pepper in them. The 1st bites of brisket were good but you couldn't get a bite without burnt ends and it was dry and not much flavor past the crust. The banana pudding was given to us later so it would be cold but it wasn't all that cold. The bananas in the pudding were hard like they'd been cut from a green banana. Got to choose between sweet or spicy barbecue sauce and got the sweet which was served hot and tasted really good on the sandwich. The Food was mid reminds me of dickies bbq, brisket is definitely of a lower quality and dry, it was weird watching them cut brisket they scrape the bark off the brisket, and the moist appears they are just using mostly fat with the cut, mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy or creamy, cream of corn was delicious, bbq spicy sauce was delicious. I did not use their warmup instructions but rather the common ones found on google, specifically Whole Foods guidance: 325 oven, about a cup of broth in the pan, about two hours, remove foil for a few minutes to dry the top. Picked up dinner tonight for take out. Got brisket, chicken and ribs. All were DELICIOUS. Two sauces, sweet and spicy. None of us found the spicy sauce to be hot spicy or even heavily spiced, but both were good. Got broccoli and potato salads and coleslaw. All good. Was planning to order peach cobbler but it looked so sad - maybe made with canned peaches and the top crust was flat, overcooked, no egg wash or butter wash, no sugar or cinnamon so did not even try that. They have a very good lunch special for under $10. Includes a side, and a choice of meat sandwich plus a drink. I went with chopped brisket with sweet bbq sauce. The side I ordered was the cream sweet corn. The chopped brisket was very moist and tasty. The sweet bbq sauce paired well with it. I didn't really taste to much smoke, which I'm fine with. What is awesome is that you get a ton of meat to go with your meal. The cream corn side was very sweet, and looked to be homemade. The service was good as well. Very friendly, and they ask how your meal was. I plan on coming back later on to try out the all you can eat meat on Monday's. Overall it was a great bbq, and you should give it a try. I can't believe this is the first time I've been to red barn barbecue. It was very very good. I got these last lean brisket. The taste was great. I liked their spicy barbecue sauce, but they do offer a sweet mild as well. The service was very friendly and not a long wait and the place was very clean. My husband and I really liked their green beans. The Texas toast was good. They made fresh french fries when you ordered them. So there is nothing I can complain about. You're walk into a barn/log cabin, with counter service, styrofoam plates, plastic utensils. The floor is also uneven which just adds to the experience. No frills at all. Basic bbq menu, but the food was delicious! I had the brisket plate with Cole slaw and Mac, and the sweet bbq sauce. Super generous portion of meat and tasty homemade sides. Made the drive to try out Rosako's Soul food & BBQ but they were closed. This place isn't too far away so decided to stop by due to the good reviews. Sliced brisket was JUST OK because it wasn't too dry to where I'd have to cough, but it had NO flavor. The spicy bbq tasted watered down and definitely no spice. The macaroni salad tasted like watered down Miracle Whip. Onion rings were ok, similar to what a burger onion rings. Baby back Ribs weren't fall off the bone but they weren't dry but NO flavor again.
