From the moment you walk into this store it feels like stepping into a different world. One of the owners Suzanne is the nicest lady you will meet. I spent good 45 minutes just chatting with her. My Mom has been a costumer for a while and I'm so glad that she brought me here. You will find costume jewelry in every color, shape and size, all displayed beautifully. Everything is color coordinated. They have bunch of very interesting clothes. I saw a cool section that was made to look a bit like a walk in closet with signs like "sassy tops" and "racy battoms". I think it's a very cute and fun idea of displaying their merchandise. It's a super neat shop and worth checking out even if you don't end up buying anything the same day. What a fun place! I was here with my mom on Saturday just to peek in, I'd never been in before and now I basically live up the street. She warned me ahead of time about the eclectic interior and staff, and that there was usually a dog or two roaming around inside. Well, all are true. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, there were two dogs inside, just chillin'. The staff was super friendly and was constantly chirping in with an "oh that's ADORABLE," or "why don't you check that drawer if you like these." Lots of funky jewelry and things that can be repurposed, as well as hats, clutches, gloves... lots of great stuff to put together a fabulously retro halloween costume. I picked up a few vintage postcards to frame for my new guest bathroom, I can't wait to get them up! I found this gem of a store about 10 years ago. My high school newspaper - Regina Dominican - wrote about 5 local thrift/antique stores and this was one! So I figured I'd check it out and the instant I walked in I absolutely fell in love with it. It's so unique. I could spend hours looking through all the jewelry! When you enter JuJu's Vintage Antique and Resale Shop you will feel like you stepped back in time! It is the cutest place I have ever seen. I felt like I was in Disney World! JuJu organized hundreds of pieces of jewelry and they are all lined up like soldiers...I cannot believe all of the work that she put into this place. How she organized all of the lovely pieces of jewels and many other things is beyond me! Her assistants were very helpful and pleasant...The reason I went to JuJu's is because I was in a pilot film and I needed an apron. I called several shops with no luck then someone referred me to JuJu. I then luckily found an apron that I could wear for a pilot film that I was in and I can't wait to bring some of my friends there. read more

Great place to find all sorts of jewelry, vintage clothing, photographs, keychains, hats, hair clips, purses/bags, and decorations. I always end up buying something whenever I visit. I just wish the place was a little bigger...too often I feel like I'm about to knock something over. There are racks upon racks, and it can get a bit cluttered and overwhelming. Love! Love! Love! My mom introduced me to this shoppe a couple years ago when I just needed a pick-me-up, and I can't stop coming back! I primarily love this shoppe for their jewelry, but almost always come home with way more than I went in for :) Their collection ranges from eclectic and spunky to elegant and regal. I ALWAYS find a great statement piece when I go in and now wear their earrings almost exclusively! The women who work in the shoppe are fun, inviting, and helpful, even fixing an earring that I wanted to purchase that was missing a hook. Forget Disneyland! This is the happiest place on earth! I googled vintage jewelry, and this came up one top. There is a reason this came up on top. I've never seen a more perfect store in my entire life. There is so much there. So much to look at, and it's all so organized. Now trust me, you want to make time when you go to this store. You will want to see everything. It's all so beautiful and interesting. I wanted to sit down on the floor and play all day! If they let me, I would move in! There is such a selection. You can get ANYTHING here. I really wanted some pieces from the 1920s, and I found them here. I got some original pieces and some modern look a likes. All had incredibly reasonable prices. Don't you hate it when you go to a thrift store, and you just know they've been lurking on Ebay and raised their prices because of it? Not this place. Completely fair pricing for everything I got. This is a REAL antique jewelry store. Like one's you see in the movies, only better. The staff were incredible. They were so nice and so helpful and so fun! You can tell that they love what they do and that they're interested in it. They genuinely like people. And of course, there's precious little Jitterbug. The most perfect sweet little girl! There is so much to love in this place! I cannot wait to go back, I have my eye on some vintage purses that are just too perfect, and VERY reasonable. I was so upset with this store. I called to see if my children who received a gift and to exchange for something that was giving to them as a gift. Unfortunately the store does not do exchanges. My children just lost their brother to brain cancer. I would think to make sure the owner would be be bit more understanding. She called me rude bc of my attitude. She also didn't return my call from yesterday. I told her we are coming into the city and would like to please get exchange and i was told NO! Horrible customer service. read more

I have driven by for years and am kicking myself i have not been in sooner! Spent almost 2 hours here and could easily have stayed 2 more. Truly meticulous organization and guaranteed to find something that you cant resist. Loved the random trinkets and pins. Will be back for sure, great neighborhood shop. read more

Poor service. Called to inquire about a lamp and was given a price for it and they would hold it for me after there window display was taken down. After a month and half got a call the lamp was ready for pick up after asking about the price again they raised it up $40 more because they were getting alot of calls about it. That's just not the way to run a business. read more

So, i myself am an antique/vintage dealer. Sometimes if i have some items not moving, i will sell them to other dealers to find the right buyer for the item. I took several, beautiful peices of clothing and jewelry up to the ladies at A&R figuring they would offer fair dealer priced for my items.....boy was i WRONG! They offered me a whopping $5 for a antique Jade pendant (retail at about $250, on a BAD day) and $5 a piece for the others! What a smack in the face. Especially after seeing a bad quality piece of jade jewelry selling for over $200 in their overfull case! Now, I know how the business works, but offering $5 for a $250 piece is just beyond words!!!! A total smack in the face. She wasnt even nice about it to boot. She actsed like she was doing me a favor! Jokes on you lady......actually, many of their items are under market price meaning people can make money from buying low and selling at market value! The one good thing i can say and the reason for the second star is that they really do have some amazing and beautiful pieces in the shop, some way over priced and some way under, very few at actual retail prices (which for antiques is a bit touchier and harder than new goods, since in essence an antiques value is only as high as what you are willing to pay for them, thus the intrinsic value of antiques varies greatly from place to place. I may be able to sell antique dresses online for 300$+ but only $90 in a vintage clothing store in Chicago) If you are looking for costume jewelry......this place is heaven. However, if you are looking to make some extra money, dont bother. You WILL be insulted by their smack in the face offer! There are too many better places in Chicago to unload your antique stash that will give you a FAIR and HONEST offer, something i don't think A&R shoppe is aware of! read more

I was on a mission to find some vintage clothing for our Halloween costumes; and after checking out several shops in the city to no avail, I was referred by a local shopkeeper to this resale shop on the far northwest side of the city. They have a small selection of clothing, mostly carrying antiques and chotchkes (spelling?), but the clothing that they carry was quality vintage clothing from the 50's and 60's. If you are looking for old clothing that is dressy, they definitely have a great selection of evening dresses, fur stoles, all kinds of vintage hats and purses, jewelry, etc. Many of the vintage shops that I checked out in the city had mostly 70's styles and up, and what they did have from the 50s and 60s was fairly limited and mostly junk. This shop did have some old glamour pieces, priced mainly around $20 - $30 for most dresses. As with any resale shop, sizing is limited; but if you are looking for a fun costume, or just like dressing up kind of funky, check out this shop! read more

There is no shop(pe) anywhere in Chicago like this one- and that is saying a lot! I have been visiting Suzanne and Jules' treasure trove of a store for years- they have wonderful, unique, reasonably priced one of a kind things for every aspect of your existence. Don't go there if you're in a hurry; in order to explore all the drawers, shelves, nooks and crannies you will need time. If you are having a bad day, go there for lunch. You may leave with a precious bauble, vintage hat, a bag of buttons, a vintage Jackie O suit or even a metal tribal mask....my most recent find. This is easily the most organized resale and antique store I've been to (although crammed!) and has the best, most reasonable selection of vintage and costume jewelry all of Chicagoland. I have been going to this place for years for jewelry, cool knicknacks, and the odd vintage dress (for under $20! In mint condition!). The owners are total sweethearts. I am a lover of vintage clothing and antiques. I go to Wisconsin for a relaxing vacation and most of my time in the vintage stores. In Chicago, I absolutely adore this place. I used to buy just jewelry until I discovered the clothing, hats, gloves and vintage bags filling the back of the store. I bought a beautiful yellow vintage purse for $20 and it looks brand NEW. Enticing. Well worth any trouble. The Antique and Resale Shoppe? Clearly not your typical 'resale/ gently used' shop. This is the real deal. Indiscriminately set inside a tiny strip mall, this cool gem is fronted by some of the most unique and entertaining window displays. Once inside I can't seem to stop looking. Seems overwhelming at first but drawers by the dozens are nicely labeled with their contents. Some a little packed, but adds to the excitement that you've found the real goods in the way back. Vintage goodies of all types from marbles, plastic and real neat old metal soldiers, costume jewelry (of e v e r y type) wow! galore!!, vintage nighties, hats, furs, padlocks?- yes!, buttons- red, glass, mother of pearl, etc., aprons, linens, hankies- hand embroidered!, pocket watches more more. Need a genuine Hoody de Doody spoon? I know that I now own one. Oh! I actually found a pink gold watch chain with original fob for 1/4 the price found at Ralph Lauren in Chicago. Lauren also sells some of those sterling vintage belt buckles for $s that I found in the way back of this shopee's drawers. Bring your high schooler along and invariably they'll be in paradise in some unexpected part of this shoppe. The staff all seem to wear vintage and quite well. They appear to really know what's what- I've come in wearing vintage, only to have them knowingly nod. Clueless? they'll pull out a glass and meticulously examine the item, perhaps finding your wish- the antique silver hallmark, YIP They'll even direct you to another's shop! for your specified vintage need or whatevvver. Never appearing to hover, the staff are nicely available when needed. I like when I happen in when the little dude's there; puppy invaribly in hand, his very own cool mix of vintage and 'normal kid look' while upon request, discretely offering that very much needed final opinion. Always leaving wishing I'd bought much more, I still have undoubtedly unique items, wrapped carefully in their little red sack at fair if not amazing prices and have a feel good feeling inside.
