It's a nice location, but the music was not too good, the bartenders were attentive, but the crowd was not very interesting. I went there late on a Saturday night and by like 2ish it was pretty much empty. It's a good local spot if you live around but not if you are visiting. The drinks very average priced and the entire place was too clean. I did however like the decor they had several signs that were good for photo ops but other than that, I don't think it's a must go to place. read more

I really love the ambiance of Juke Bar. It's perfectly dim, and there's always good music playing whenever I'm there. The happy hour is until 9pm, and is great!! The cocktails are in large mason jars and are uniquely crafted. One is more than enough, but two will definitely be a good time. $50 for a $4.9 dollar bottle of Andre - bad quality sparkling wine is pretty unforgivable particularly when the conversation with the Bar tender went down like this: We would like a bottle of prosecco please! I don't have prosecco but can give you a bottle of champagne for the same price, and then opens up a bottle of cheap sparkling wine from California that costs $4 and tastes like bubble gum. Did we just become best friends?! Yep, we did. I've walked by this place a bunch and happy I finally stopped in last week. JB is an affordable cocktail bar (chances are you'll be there during some sort of happy hour) with a relaxed, dive-y feel and good tunes... so right up my alley. Drinks are served in larger sized cups than most cocktail bars and there's a TV, so no worries about those $12 one sip wonders or the stuffiness of other lounges. I suggest getting the Winter's Coming and Junior Smash off of the cocktail list (both bourbon based), which will run you $8 during HH. I didn't see any food being served and there were a dozen pizzas on a table, so I'm not sure if they closed the kitchen or what, but that's not stopping me from coming back here. celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here this past weekend on a Saturday night and everything was perfect. It was a surprise party and he was 100% surprised. Gene, the owner, was very responsive by email and helped coordinate an area for a group of 15-20 of us. It was originally booked up since it was a last minute request, but he made it happen! No cutting fees for a cake, and we brought our own snacks, and even made a charcuterie board. We were allowed to bring all the food at no extra costs. Cute cozy bar in the East Village. Head downstairs into this basement cocktail lounge and grab a chair by the fireplace because Juke Bar ain't too shabby! We were there celebrating a friends' birthday. Separated into 3 sections, the space can get packed, quick. Happy Hour is till 9pm every night though, and all-night happy hour are on Wednesdays. All beer, wine and well is $5 and specialty cocktails are $8. Of the bars we visited that night in the area, it was nice that Juke Bar wasn't full of college seniors or dbags (synonymous?) looking to get sloppy. read more

Last night was a blast and I really would like to give a shoutout to the bartender Philip who managed the entire place by himself. A friend of mine got a private room here to throw a farewell post-graduation party. Turns out that we actually didn't need the room since the place was mostly empty except for our large party and occasional stragglers. Seriously though, props to Philip for singlehandedly making all of our drinks! The drinks were strong and delicious. He also made a couple of drinks that we requested which weren't on the menu. (Sorry, mojitos are just my go-to!) He is such a nice guy and I feel bad that he had to deal with all of our shenanigans. We didn't realize until the end of the night after we closed our tabs that he charged us happy hour prices even though we were there from 10PM-3AM. Bless your soul!!!! The cocktail list is delicious (my favorite was the Juke Bar Maid), they offered happy hour even though it was a weekend night, the staff bent over backwards to make sure I (and my friends) were having a good time, and they're easy on the eyes too! The party was a birthday party/fundraiser to help my family that was displaced in the Philippines by the recent typhoon, and they were super accommodating in letting take the mic to make a speech and raise awareness. They even held typhoon-aid events for the rest of that week. These are good people and they run a damn fine bar. I will definitely be a patron of Juke for a very long time. read more

The decor is very relaxed and offers some seating. It's a not a large place and does get packed on a Saturday night. But with great drinks and good music I mean really who cares! I personally prefer EDM but I listen to just about everything. They played hip-hop, reggae and top 40 music, both old and new.
