After a brief visit to the area, I checked out Yelp to find a new restaurant to try besides the usual fast food choices. Yelp did not disappoint with Julia's. Upon arrival, I marveled at the beautiful decor and how fast we were greeted and seated. Our server Joshua, was attentive and quickly placed our drink orders. The complimentary salsa was some of the best I've had. The salsa was chilled perfectly and very fresh. The veggies were perfectly chopped and crunchy just how I like it. My virgin daiquiri was great as well and was very eye-pleasing. After placing our food order, it did not take long to come out. Both of us agreed that our food was pretty good overall. My friend wasn't overly impressed. He said it wasn't anything to write home about. My quesadilla was a little...watery...not sure if it was from the meat or the veggies. I've had better to be honest. We really enjoyed our early dinner at Julia's. We ordered margaritas and Modelo for drinks and my beer came in a fun glass boot. The mains were Hawaiian Chicken, Enchiladas and Twin Burritos. Huge portions and delicious. Service is perfect and atmosphere is groovy, with low-lighting and artistic touches everywhere. We will go back soon. My boyfriend picked me up lunch from Julia's this weekend when he went to Guntersville. They had lots of menu items that looked good to me, it was so hard to choose! I ended up going with the Amore Tacos which were two steak and two chicken tacos. The pineapple was a nice kick. The chicken and steak were really high quality cuts of meat and were huge tacos! It was so filling and could last about two meals. I also had some of Austin's nachos. They were just ground beef and queso, but so delicious! I might get that next time for myself. They also gave you a ton of chips and salsa on to go orders. I would love to come here and dine inside sometime! read more

Ate here on a Sunday. Place was packed but the service was great. The warm chips and unique true tomato tasting salsa were excellent. The chile relleno was tasty. The ambiance is festive with the multicolor hanging ceiling lamps. Will definitely visit again. Very affordable too! read more

Salsa was chunky and flavorful. Chips were good. 5/5 Ordered the Julia's dip for the appetizer. Chicken, steak and shrimp in cheese sauce with a side of tortillas. Cheese was a little liquidy, but very good overall. 4/5 For the main meal got the chimi changa. One steak. One chicken. One shrimp. They didnt drench the top with cheese so the cc stayed crunchy. Every single time we eat at Julia's, we have absolutely the best Mexican food ever! Fresh ingredients. And their lime margaritas are so good. Can get really crowded during peak hours so opt for earlier or late. No matter how crowded, the service never suffers. read more

What a nice surprise to find this new restaurant. I was getting my nails done a couple doors down and saw there was a new Mexican restaurant. I asked the girls inside about it and they hadn't been yet but said it is always packed and when they go outside it smells awesome! Well... my daughter and I decided to give it a go! We got there late in the afternoon. It was close to 3 PM on Friday. There were several booths with other customers. We were seated immediately and ordered our drinks and cheese dip! Ugh... I'm a sucker for a good cheese dip! First came the salsa and chips, and a few minutes later we had our cheese dip. First off... the salsa was so good! It was nice and chunky- not too chunky to where you feel like you are just eating tomato chunks - this was the perfect kind. And it was too spicy and it had a nice amount of cilantro. The perfect red to green ratio! :). The cheese dip was so delish! Just the right amount of heat ... and yes we are the entire bowl!!! We ordered and shared the Vegetarian #C, which was a bean burrito, cheese enchilada, and a chalupa. We also added a side of rice and beans. It was all so good! Chicken in chimichangas, no flavor. Can not remember what my son had but it was a large taco shell with chicken and steak ordered without peppers and onions but came with them. I went there for Father's Day, ordered the Burrito Grande, and said I did NOT want Sour Cream on it. I made sure the waiter understood that and had him to repeat my order and he said NO sour Cream. But when I got it, it had sour cream all over it. The manager came to the table and said he was sorry, but they were too busy and that's what happened. Too busy. I ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp with beans. My wife & daughter split a fajita dish (all meat). My shrimp was delicious and surprisingly not overcooked. Shrimp is very easy to overcook. The salsa was delicious. We also ordered some cheese dip which was also good. The fajitas were, unfortunately, overcooked. The chicken & steak were chewy but had decent flavor. Great food and atmosphere even when the place was deserted (I was there mid afternoon). Chips came out fresh and warm. Salsa was chilled and spicy. My beer was well chilled. So why only 4 out of 5 stars you may ask? My server did a good job checking in on me and making sure I didn't need anything but his mastery of the English language was not the best. I asked for a draft beer and got a bottle beer, but at least it was the right brand and I ordered the Shrimp Chimichanga. I guess I ended up with the super Chimichanga as I had one chicken, one beef and one shrimp chimichanga. I would have complained and sent it back but I had been traveling since 6:00am and just wanted to get done eating and get to my destination. I will say even though it wasn't what I ordered they were pretty good. I would certainly eat there again but I may just take more time making sure they get my order right. read more
