We were so exhausted from walking through town. We stumbled into Julian hard cider So thirsty .. We were pleasantly surprised by the flight of insiders that came in these super fun muffin tins. The cider were delicious. They were refreshing. They were flavorful. We almost went back for seconds, but then we realized we needed to get on the road. They were so fun. They have a gorgeous indoor area as well as a patio with huge trees. In the back of this cider shop, our other shops and a play area for kids or just hanging out. We went camping one weekend in Julian and wanted to explore the town. Drove by and came across this place and decided to stop in for a tasting. The restaurant had split seating -small dining area in the front of the restaurant and another seating area in the back. Rustic interior and decor, which represents Julian. Ordered a couple of cider tastings. I liked all of the different selections that were on the menu. There were more than some of the other cideries o have been to. Presentation of the tasing was cute - they were delivered in muffin tins which I thought was creative. I did not like the fast that the drinks were served in cheap plastic cups. Everything here was so on point! The cider is delicious, nice and strong for what it is, and a great value. They have a food booth here that serves hot dogs, burgers, chicken, etc which was super convenient to have under the same roof. They offered a chocolate tasting which was so so good! We stopped by Julian Hard Cider after an afternoon in town grabbing pie. It was nice to get out of the chaos that is downtown on a weekend. This cider co is in a building with a few different vendors - there's some antique shops, boutiques, and an old timey bar. It's a really cool spot to walk around in. We got the cider flight to try a bunch which was definitely the call, and more than enough for the two of us (beware elevation effects). They even gave us some pretzels on the side. Cute little stop on your way to Julian or leaving the town. I didn't get a chance to stay long due to my kids who wanted to rush me so we can get back to the hotel for swimming. Service could have been better. I really didn't get that friendly vibe. They offered flights at reasonable prices. Drink responsibly because these ciders are strong. As far for cider options, there were some interesting flavors like apple pie, cherry bomb, caramel apple, harvest apple, and so much more. I ended up buying two cans of the cherry bomb and harvest apple so I can enjoy outside seating area while the kids indulge their lunches. Outside foods and beverages weren't allowed in tasting room, therefore they had another designated area specifically for those who brought in their own food and drinks. This is located at the Julian Station along with other tasting rooms. Wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy some of the other ciders. For sure, next time when I'm in the area. read more

We stopped by a week and a half ago because my mom talked this place up. It has such a chill vibe, the bartender was nice, and the hard cider is delicious. Such a cool place to check out! It was a slightly cold rainy day but decided to take a drive up to Julian. We were looking for somewhere to get some cider which is my favorite alcoholic beverage. When we got here we were greeted and took a look at the menu. We decided to get a flight of ciders to try and got my nephew a hot apple cider. They have so many kinds to try. They have some classic ciders but also some very original ciders. Jillian Hard Cider is such a hidden gem in Julian! I instantly loved how open and spacious it felt--like a mix between a western town throwback and a super cute public market. The little boutiques and shops inside are adorable, and the whole place has this old-timey ambience that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time (in the best way). My favorite part? The arcade section with the pool table! It's such a fun touch and makes it more than just a cider spot. They even have a food section with smash burgers, seriously sooo good. And of course, the cider tasting room itself is amazing, with tons of flavor options to try. But the real showstopper is the patio deck. The view is absolutely stunning....I'm talking "you could host a wedding here" level gorgeous. Perfect for hanging out, sipping cider, and soaking in Julian's charm. Only tiny downside: no AC, so it can get a bit warm in summer. But honestly, it just makes me want to come back in the winter to enjoy the cozy vibes even more. The seasonal one I get in the growler is the caramel apple around fall. They also have great merch too. We visited Julian Hard Cider while on our way back from a day trip to Julian. We drove by and thought they had a nice outdoor space and good reviews. We decided to get the two flights they offered to share so we could try it all. There was definitely a great variety of ciders offered. My favorites were the P.O.G. And the tiki torch with the spice. The only negative about it was that you weren't able to take the ciders outside of the tasting room and patio. It's located in a really cool building with other shops and a little arcade so it would have been nice to sit and enjoy the cider while the kids enjoyed the arcade games. We are visiting Julian for the first time and due to the extremely high winds, MANY places were closed due to power outages. On our quest to find a tasting somewhere....beer, wine, cider..... we came across Julian station after no luck anywhere. The only open door was at Manzanita Supply, so we went in for some intel. Cindy was so friendly and helpful! She literally walked us out and through a door with a "closed" sign on it. There, we met Nicole, who happily took us over to Julian Hard Cider. She opened up for just us to have a "Core" tasting to sample all the ciders made there and on tap. We ended up leaving with a Howler of Pearanormal, a large 4-pack of Black & Blue and a 6 pack of Apple Pie ciders. Just from this experience, we have decided to return later in the year for another visit. It comes with 6 hard cider tastings and a cup of pretzels. My favorite was the apple pie, perfect amount of cinnamon and nutmeg flavor and not to heavy. They have a nice outdoor seating area with corn hole. There is also food and a few small shops in the same building. Right across the street is a farm that in October is a pumpkin patch with activities! Great down to earth place to stop while visiting Julian. On a hot day--and it can get REALLY hot out here--there's hardly anything nicer than sitting on their outside patio and drinking some ciders. They have at least 12 different ciders on draft and there could be more, for all I know. They offer flights of 6 ciders but you have to choose from two different set flights. So, no mixing between the two flights. I find that a little strange but perhaps they have their reasons. I don't love all of their ciders, and they tend to be on the sweeter side, but overall, they are very nice and refreshing. My personal faves are Cherry Bomb and Apple Pie but no doubt, you'll find a few you like. They also offer bottles for sale. Reliably good stuff here. read more

It's so cheap here. As someone who's used to paying an arm and a leg for a bottle of Julian hard cider in the bay area, coming to Julian for a tasting is a treat.
