Last, I wanted to do something nice for the kids.. to show a bit of positivity in light of darkness. I purchased 40 teddy bears and I placed an order w/ Heidi to surprise the same kids that are waiting for the stuffed animal surprise to arrive. Heidi reached out to me thanks to the FB group. Her bakery is also listed on the sheet where businesses have been impacted, so I knew I would help brighten the kids' day and support a local business. I ordered 4 dozens. She has a lot to choose from, but Heidi suggested chocolate chunk and snickerdoodle to keep it simple for the kids. I agreed, but could have opted for any/other flavors if I wanted to. After a few exchanges, the cookies were picked up yesterday. Look at the packaging! So beautiful! I bet it tasted delicious and decadent as well. Today, I finally got my Manjookie fix as one of my good friends - Nathan Y. brought me back a omiyage gift pack of Manjookies that consisted of - Lilikoi Pineapple, Strawberry, Matacha, Blueberry, Ube, & Cranberry Guava. What can I say about da Manjookies??? It is as advertised! The Manjookies have a different texture from traditional manju, & their unique fillings are not too sweet.
