No line as bakery was closed

Is it good? Yes. Is it "stand-in-line-forever" good? Not for me. I'm just past the stage of chasing hype, but based on the crowds wrapping around the corner, I'm clearly in the minority. The cinnamon rolls, though, are the real deal: soft, gooey, draped in glaze and yet somehow isn't overyly sweet, and when they're warm they just melt in your mouth. They're basically a hug in pastry form and go perfectly with a hot cup of coffee. We also tried the scones, croissants, and cookies, and they were all very tasty--but let's be honest, you're really here for the cinnamon rolls, and they know it.

I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't for me. Waited 3.5 hours on a Tuesday morning (from 6:30am-10am, their croissants were sold out so we bought 4 of the cinnamon rolls & a box of cookies. The cookies are delicious, I love that they put pistachios in it & it's not overly sweet, they were my favorite. The cinnamon rolls unfortunately fell short for me. There was something about them that just didn't "wow" me enough to be believing the hype. However, I'm still glad that I tried it. & to each their own.

    Cinnamon roll!

If you don't feel like reading my whole review, here's the short version... the hype is real and worth the trip! My wife's sister, who just moved away from Hawaii told us about this place. She told us we had to come here. She made sure to mention to carve out a couple hours of the day, because we'll be waiting in line. As you can see pictures from other people's reviews, that's definitely the case. We took an Uber over there, and as soon as we got in the car and the driver mentioned the address he said, are y'all ready to wait?!?! I think we got there around 10 AM and the line was already long! We knew we would have to be very patient this day. Luckily it wasn't super hot outside so that helped with the waiting process. They did have someone come around and offer coffee and water to purchase while we waited in line. I thought that was pretty smart under the circumstances that everyone has to deal with while waiting here. After probably a 2 hour wait... we finally got in! They have other options of things to eat. Scones, croissants and things like that. We were there for the star player... the cinnamon roll! These things are huge! My wife and I said since we waited so long, we might as well get two and enjoy one of them for later. I never envisioned myself waiting two hours for a cinnamon roll, or any other type of treats, but this was well worth it. We wanted to have one while it was fresh out the oven, so we found a bench to sit at around a bus stop. It was so soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. The icing was tasty. It was so fresh, it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. I'm sure spending two hours of your time being in Maui you don't want to sit in line waiting on something like a cinnamon roll, trust me I felt the same way. After doing this, I WILL do it again the next time I'm there! Next time, I would be there first thing in the morning and waiting in line before they open up, that way I'll have time for other activities around the island that I have planned for the day. The wait is worth it, and I highly suggest this place!

cinnamon roll ($12) - when i first had it i wasn't that impressed but it's only because i havent had that many cinnamon rolls in life and i was never a cinnamon girlie, but after having another one from Cinnamon Roll Place for comparison, this is indeed heavenly - first of all the texture oml, i don't think any place would easily surpass this; it was pillowy soft inside while the exterior was a bit crunchy and flaky; so soft it felt like it would collapse if you don't eat it quick - second, it came out HOT N FRESH - third, the size is massive - fourth, the flavor was on point; i have nothing to complain about - the only part i didn't like was that they put too much cream cheese glaze; hence, it was too sweet blueberry scone ($10) - this was soooo dry it felt like my tongue went scavenging through the desert - other than the dryness though i do appreciate the rugged texture and the blueberry flavor was pretty rich - would not get it again rating: 4.8/5 - theyre known for cinnamon rolls so despite the blueberry scone being unsatisfactory, the rating is still high - i loved the texture and flavor; you can taste the quality - it wouldve been an almost perfect score if it could just lessen the cream cheese glaze AND if the line wasn't so bombastic because we waited for 1.5 hours in the sun - super welcoming cheerful service though; they also provide umbrellas and a few chairs for you to wait in the sun - very small interior for you to place your order; no place to stand or sit; grab and go only IG: @nom.noms.only

    You need to try this.

Big ass cinnamon roll. Soft and pillowy. Gooey and sweet. Buttery with a hint of vanilla or coconut. I couldn't place my finger on it. It's the size of a plate lunch. The line is nuts but if you go around 11:30 you might be able to snag the leftovers with no line.

Definitely the BEST "BLESSED" Cinnamon Roll I have ever had! I waited almost 2 hours on a Tuesday morning but I made friends while in line and I feel it was truely worth the wait. Would I wait in line a second time on the same trip? Maybe not, but I would certainly make the effort on every trip to Maui. It was about the experience. It was moist with great texture, gooey enough for the biggest cinnamon roll lovers but not too much for those who prefer other baked goods. Great product but minus 1 star for the wait and the heat which was not really under their control. Very nice staff! They offer coffee and water delivery for purchase for those waiting in line. Papi... I will be back!

This is such a special family business! We usually stay on the south side of the island, so it's about an hour's drive to Papi's for us--but the drive and the wait are always worth it. The cinnamon rolls, croissants, and everything they make are crafted from scratch with so much love and care. As a baker myself, I know just how much time and effort goes into creating each item--and trust me, it's far more than three hours. Today, I made wonderful memories with my dad. We met lovely people while waiting in line, then brought home incredible cinnamon rolls and croissants to share with our family. If you're planning a visit, plan ahead. Get there early, wear sunscreen or bring an umbrella for shade, and most importantly, bring a positive attitude. Life is an adventure, and your experience is often shaped by the attitude you bring to it. The first time we visited years ago, we waited less than five minutes. Today, we waited a few hours--and I absolutely love seeing that. It's wonderful to watch a hardworking local business thrive, and they deserve every bit of their success. Thank you for always making us feel so welcome. Blessings to every member of your staff--you've created something truly special.

Can't believe no pics were taken. That's how you know food and company were both incredible! Finally tried their pizza and it did not disappoint. Had the veggie pizza and it was simple yet flavorful. We had 2 separate pickups, one for my brother and one for his in laws, 4 pizzas in total. I think all together we had vegetarian, pineapple/pepperoni, Hawaiian and vegetarian plus pepperoni. Everyone from the kids to grandpa enjoyed the pizza and dare I say it might even be better as cold leftovers? Crust isn't heavy so it's easy to want to grab another slice. They also got cookies and they too were delicious. I think they had milk & white chocolate chips as well as macadamia nuts. Another great meal and experience from start to finish. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and everything I've tried has been wonderful! New go to pizza for sure. Just make sure you call earlier on the day to reserve your pickup time!

Yes! If only you could smell this!

Thanks to a fellow Yelper, I learned the trick of going later in the morning. I hardly waited five minutes. And I know some people show up long before they open and wait in line for hours. It does look fun to be part of the community waiting together and being on their daily Facebook video. But... I was good with the short wait. And....what a de-licious cinnamon roll. I only got one to share between three of us. I had to stop myself from eating more than my share! Lovely friendly service too! I'm a fan!

So! Was it worth it? After 2.5 hours wait, we made it. Come early if you wanna get some cookies or croissants, they ran out quick. They were very nice, before the shop open they walk around offering folks for ordering coffee or water, they also offer umbrella to beat the heat and chairs to sit down. Coffee is a bit pricey but well, you don't wanna lose your spot. We got there at 7:35, got in at 10:20, by then most of the stuff outside the rolls are gone. Now the final answer if it is worth the wait, i would say yes!! The rolls were crispy and the cream omg, the bomb i think they added condensed milk as i can taste it. I'm glad i got two.

The biggest cinnamon rolls!!! We checked Papi's at 10 but there was still quite a line so we got coffee and came back at 11 and the line was much shorter. We luckily snagged a parking spot next to it, but there was only one left. We waited around 10-15 minutes. Everything was sold out except the cinnamon rolls. We got one for $12 and it was huge! We were going to save half but it was so good we finished almost all of it. Super big, flavorful, I just wish there was a bit more cinnamon flavor.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for those who don't like to wait in line, but the line is totally worth it. I honestly did not want to stand around in line for a cinnamon roll, which are not my favorite (so I thought it wouldn't blow my mind) but I'm really glad my boyfriend convinced me to wait. We were in line for ~40 minutes at 9:40 AM on a Monday. There's plenty of coffee places nearby (including Papi's own coffee service) to help pass the time. I can't emphasize enough how fantastic this cinnamon roll was... served right out of the oven, so warm, with an excellent crunch around all the edges but still warm and gooey on the inside. It's pretty big so can serve 3-4 (we had leftovers)

    Big delicious roll!

Wow! So first off I'm not a "cinnamon roll" person per se, not because I don't love cinnamon and or dough but because they always seem dry to me. We just went here yesterday (well my hubby and daughter braved the line) I'll speak to that in a moment. Back to the actual cinnamon roll, omg WOW!! So soft and fluffy and not to crazy sweet!! Not sure of their secret but clearly they have mastered it!! Sooooooooo pillowy and delicious! Truly best cinnamon roll I have ever had! Now to the wait/line; they waited over two hours (they knew they should have left earlier) to do again (and we WILL) hubby said we will get there earlier and bring coffee, beach chair and book! Camp out and be firsts ones in store when they open! My daughter said lots of people complained and she even saw a bad review (written day before this one from San Diego residents) I have to say I find that funny! I don't believe the owners went to your hotel room and forced you to go stand in their line and buy their products!? I'm making a wild assumption here but I'm guessing by CHOICE you all went there and you could have just exited line and decided this wait wasn't for you. That's some Wild work giving a bad review because you chose to go to a crazy popular place to get a cinnamon roll and were mad because you had to wait! anywho... if you want the best; these are them! Yes, there's a wait, so plan accordingly if you so choose! We felt it was worth it and I think by the lines and popularity many agree.

Decided to pick up a few sweet items and went with the cinnamon rolls, the coffee cake and the bread pudding. The savory case was filled with house made empanadas of various proteins and vegetables, they looked amazing but figured will have to return for those since we were heading out for the day and had no way to keep them until we got back to the resort. The cinnamon roll was very good, the perfect amount of sweetness combined with cream cheese to make the ultimate icing, and it's not drenched in icing so the ratio of dough to icing was spot on. They are good sized so you could actually share it and still feel like you weren't shorted of deliciousness. The coffee cake was prepared with blueberries and had a streusel type topping, cake was light and flavorful. The bread pudding was tasty, dense and not too sweet, we tried a few bites but will enjoy it more when we get back to our resort and can warm it up a bit. All and all it was a great find in a quiet little beachfront neighborhood.
