My wife and I have been going to Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop for their pies for years. Our favorites were the Chocolate Mac Nut Pie, Banana Cream Pie, and Coconut Cream Pie. There was always a line but it was worth waiting in for a great pie. Not this year, unfortunately. The line we waited in was very short and the quality of the pie we ordered, Chocolate Mac Nut Pie, was really not that great. As per the photo, it can best be described as chocolate pudding with lots of cream. And at $12 it's a lot. The woman who took our order at the counter was brusque. The look of the pies on display was that they were created assembly-line style. The craft appeared to be lacking. It's a disappointment as a visit to Leoda's Kitchen was one of the fond food stops for us in Maui. On the plus side, the restaurant still has a pleasant feel to it (although we took our pie home).
Completely delicious stop for lunch! My husband got the beef and potato pot pie, and it was so yummy. I had the spicy tuna sandwich, and while I thought it was going to be seared tuna (like a spicy version of the seared tuna sandwich), it was still super good and quite filling. The soft bread was A+. I would NEVER normally go for a traditional tuna fish sandwich, the kind mixed with mayo and revered by kids everywhere, but this sandwich may have actually changed my mind about that.... I was pleasantly surprised. My son got a grilled cheese, and it was very big, but very tasty. For dessert, we went with the chocolate mac pie, and the strawberry cheesecake pie. Both were good and sweet. Definitely worth stopping here!
Apparently this is the place to get a good pie in Maui, so I'm glad we came for a visit. I think we ended up making a bad choice with the Chocolate haupa aka Chocolate coconut pie. The chocolate was very rich so no doubt about that but I think personally I did not enjoy the flavor. We got this one because we heard that coconut is a thing to try in general. But overall I would highly recommend going with your gut feeling and if we had to do it again we would have gotten the key lime pie! There was also a banana cream pie which looked really nice!
We were just walking around checking out the farmer's market when I realized this was on our list to try for our trip so even though we were really full, we had to get a pie to try out and I'm so glad we did. We got the banana cream pie but ai wish we could've tried all the flavors and their food menu as well because of how poppin this place was, line out the door. It kind of just feels like a standard pie but a little more refined and not heavy. The whipped cream was a perfect sweetness balanced with the banana cream, and their crust was crispy and buttery. Super good
Perfect first stop out of the airport. We split a burger and a chocolate macadamia nut pie! So good, the burger meat was way better than anything in the states. Fresh. Delicious. These pies are a must. Loved the chocolate macadamia nut pie and two of our friends were also at the restaurant who were also randomly on our flight from LA and they got the apple crumble pie and shared! Both were so good! Definitely recommend!!! I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie to go...I can't wait!

We got there shortly after they opened so open tables (yay), short line (double yay) and they had pot pies, new since our last visit (quadruple yay). I got beef; my husband got chicken. They had a puff pastry lid (so flaky and good). He gave me an obligatory taste of his, much too small to make any sort of judgment. He liked it, though, so no complaints. The beef was amazingly tender and everything inside was seasoned well. It came with a side of horseradish cream sauce which made the pot pie even more delicious. Leoda's Kitchen serves consistently yummy food and never disappoints.

It was the best I've ever had. Not too sweet or tart. Crust was amazing too. We snagged a seat at the counter outside. Cute plates & non plastic silverware. Free water available. I wish we would have tried more. I'll have to make another trip to Maui.
Leoda's is truly amazing. Great place for lunch along the way to Kaanapali. Its very popular & always crowded but its so worth the wait. The prices can be shocking but this is Maui & its worth it. The service is great, they do a great job managing the crowds of visitors. The pies, OMG simply delicious. If you have a chance stop & try the food & pies, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy & Aloha.

I asked the cashier her preference between the lime and coconut cream. She said the lime, so I went with that. My friend got the banana cream, so I got to try that as well. Both were really good. I am not usually a big pie person, but they had a nice balance of sweetness. So many pies just taste like straight sugar, but Leoda's lets the fruits shine. Neither of us could finish them, as we were totally full. Definitely shareable. They have seating inside and out, but also a nice big parking area if it was overly busy, and you needed to do a car picnic. All the staff was super welcoming, prices are reasonable, and the place is very charming. I would definitely return if I am back in the area!

We grabbed a couple of their mini pies so we could try a few different flavors and they were all really good. The crust was super flaky and buttery and the fillings weren't overly sweet. The Olowalu lime pie was probably my favorite. The place has a really nice casual plantation-style vibe and is a perfect stop if you're heading to or from Lahaina. It can get pretty busy but the line moves fast and the staff keeps things moving. Definitely worth stopping if you're in the area.

I have heard about and seen the pies and how amazing they are. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to sample them. The reason why is because of the awesome sandwiches Leoda's offers! The bread is so fresh and the sandwiches are definitely shareable( if you are willing to!)! We got here before the shop opened and there were already people waiting in line. You can eat inside or out. Just order and sit down because they will bring it to you when it's ready! read more
I was driving along the coast and spotted this pie shop. It's conveniently located just off the highway and easy to access. There was a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly. All of the pies were on display. It was so hard to choose one, but I finally decided on the chocolate mac-nut pie. The shop offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was so busy and crowded. I luckily was able to find a spot outside. I finished my pie so fast. The crust was really good and the filling was delicious. I wish I had gone back to pick up more pies to go! read more

Very nice with friendly service. Long wait as expected for a popular establishment. The pie was so delicious. I can't wait to go back and get another one. We had the chocolate Mac pie and it was extremely decadent with notes of nuts, chocolate, caramel and nice crispy bottom. The ahi tuna sandwich was 4/5 didn't expect the mashed (for lack of a better word) texture. Other than that it had a delicious flavor and good sized portion. The chicken pot pie was also 4/5 I thought it could use a bit more flavor but was extremely satisfied with size, texture, and chicken /veggie filling. The chicken was not chewy or dry. This is a biased review from a certified sweet treat crazed girl! The coconut cream pie was my absolute favorite dessert of the trip! But seriously cannot go wrong with any of the pies. We had a great lunch here. Tried the Ahi Sandwich, Turkey club, kids burger and fries and then the lime and apple pies. The pies were delicious. The sandwiches were good, but I wasn't blown away. The ahi sandwich could have used some more flavor. Maybe a sesame sauce or a chili crisp, and the turkey club also needed something. Maybe a little cranberry sauce or something to give it some more flavor. The fries were really good, and even though there was a line out the door, it didn't take too long to be able to order. I would still come back here for sure, but while the pies are definitely five-star, I would give the sandwiches four stars. read more

We randomly stopped here on the way to Lahaina and I'm so glad we did! There was a line to order and a wait for the food but it moved nice and quickly. You can order your food for dine in or take out as there is indoor and outdoor seats which are first come first serve. We ordered the seared ahi sandwich and the banana cream pie. The sandwich was so good with veggies and a garlic pesto aioli. The banana cream pie was good too and not too sweet at all. My friend ordered the chocolate mac nut pie and it was phenomenal. I could've ate five of them! It was SO good we couldn't even get a picture because it just disappeared haha. I'm definitely adding this to our list of must-stops here on Maui. read more

Was driving on our way to Lahaina from the south side. Found this place using my shaka guide app. I reviewed Leodas Kitchen on Yelp, there are stunning reviews about the sweets and treats at this establishment. Ordered a Coconut Cream pie along with a Banana Cream pie. Took one bite! Absolutley delicous! No dissapointment. This place gets really busy! If you are patient, you are looking at 20 to 30 minutes at peak time to order or get seated. Plenty of parking but can vary pending on time of arrival. Come check this place out if you have a sweet tooth. Its good!! Clean place with friendly service. read more

My first mistake was coming near the end of the day! Everything was already sold out but I was able to get my hands on a coconut cream pie! Delicious, rich, and creamy, and I ate it on my own! It's definitely big enough to share but no one else in my group likes coconut. Staff were nice about informing me there were only two pie flavors left. I'm a big fan. Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop is a must-stop for us in Maui. The pies are absolutely delicious and worth the trip on their own. Everything we've tried has been consistently great. It's also a perfect casual stop when you're driving along the longer stretches of road. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is satisfying, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Can give 12/5 stars???? Leoda's may be THE BEST food I had on Maui!! The Turkey pot pie is an absolute must, I literally cried as I ate it. SO SOSO SO GOOD, I dream about it. The pies they have are also divine, some of the best pie I've ever had. I made myself sick eating it but I didn't want to leave a crumb of flavor behind! My husband got the burger which was also delish! The restaurant is order and sit. A charmingly designed interior that is so cozy and vintage! Love love love!! Please do not leave the island without paying Leoda's a visit. read more
We tried the seared ahi tuna sandwich, which was something totally new for us, and man it was a home run. The tuna tasted incredibly fresh, and the bread was amazing. We also had the beef pot pie, and the savory goodness was out of this world. Comfort food done right. For dessert, we went with the chocolate haupia pie and the Olowalu lime pie. Both were delicious, but the Olowalu lime pie was a step above in our opinion. Staff were super friendly and were helpful on recommending what to get. We came a little late and missed out on the chocolate mac nut pie, so that's already on the must-try list for our next vacation. read more

There might be a line but it was so cool to go somewhere like this while in Maui! I got the banana cream and the Olowalu lime pies; wasn't expecting it, but the lime was definitely my favorite. Didn't get the opportunity to sit inside, but would love to, esp since they have other food items (think savory) available. From what I saw, it looks bustling but cozy. Picked up a thermal bag that I can use as a lunch bag here at home. If I ever make it back to Maui, I definitely wanna make a stop here again. read more
We stopped by, famished after a day trip on the Road to Hana! Expecting to see that majority of the stuff would be sold out, it was a nice surprise to see that there were some pies still available at around ~4pm on the Monday prior to Christmas! You would think that these places sell out quickly, especially due to the Holiday rush, but thankfully there was some left to order. We ordered our food at the front register and it took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. We took a quick pitstop to the restrooms, which were pretty clean! We got the chicken pot pies, and patty melts. By the time we got there, only the apple crumble, banana cream, and chocolate macadamia nut pies were available. We got an apple crumble pie. The chicken pot pies were great for a personal serving, and had delicious tender chicken, kale, peas, and carrots inside. It was pretty tasty! The patty melt was also pretty yummy, with a ton of cheese, and a pretty thick patty in between two slices of rye. It was quite heavy and filling. The apple crumble pie was pretty FIRE! I wished I had it heated up and ala mode (would've made it even better). The crumble was made from what I think were oats, cinnamon, and sugar; which gave it a great crunch and spoonful of sweetness over the tart apple filling. read more
We always pass by Leoda's and have always wanted to try it. We made it a point on this trip to check it out and let me tell you, the pies are phenomenal. If you want to skip the wait, you can mobile order ahead of time. But this time, we wanted to dine-in and enjoy lunch. The food itself was ok. I got the Leoda's burger and it was average. I thought the patty was overcooked and on the dry side. The side of mac n cheese was generous for a side side, which was honestly more than enough for kids. Onto the star of the meal, the banana cream pie was delicious. I thought it was going to be super heavy but it was light and silky. The crust made for the perfect pairing in each bite. I would definitely come back for the pies but unsure if I'd dine in again. read more

Absolute gem! The staff is welcoming and the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The food is fantastic!!!!! My husband got the chicken pot pit, flavored perfectly and the crust on top was perfectly crispy. I got the chicken and waffles, the gravy on top was a unique twist and wow, it was delicious. Of course we had to get their lemonade which is more on the sour/tart side but still good. The chocolate cookies are always amazing. We can't wait to come back and try something different. read more

We visited Leoda's on a Tuesday and got there a few minutes before opening, expecting there would be a long line but there wasn't. A small line formed after us and we were the second ones inside. We got the Seared Ahi and Reuben sandwiches, and a chocolate mac nut and apple crumble pie. Seared Ahi: I liked that the ahi wasnt overcooked, but it could have been seasoned more. It was just an okay sandwich. I expected a little more flavor from the basil pesto garlic aioli but it tasted like a plain aioli to me. Reuben: On the salty side compared to the seared ahi. Not much beef but overall I liked this one better. I'm not a fan of sauerkraut but I really liked it in this sandwich to balanced out the corned beef. Chocolate Mac Nut Pie: This was our favorite pie! It looks like it'll be a super fudgey, decadent pie but it's actually not too sweet. Just wish there was a little more mac nut flavor to it. Apple Crumble: There's another review that says this tasted like straight brown sugar and that's pretty accurate. This one was TOO sweet in my opinion. Also would've liked the pieces of apple to be a little smaller. Don't let the personal sized pies fool you! They're huge! As people who aren't really into sweets, one definitely would have been more than enough for the two of us to share. But we came all the way to Maui so yolo. read more
This is quite the busy spot between Kihei and Lahaina. They have fresh pies made daily. So delicious looking. And very, very tasty. They have a sandwich menu, burgers, and Moore, pot pies, hotdog, french fries potato salad all the normal stuff. A big line out the door is definitely a stop to make. You will not be disappointed at all. read more
We've been to Maui several times and I can't believe this was our first time visiting Leoda's - we'll definitely be back! We arrived right when they opened and the line was quick. My daughter had a dairy allergy so I emailed them the day prior asking about their dairy-free options. The general manager replied right away, which was much appreciated! Ended up getting the avocado and cucumber sandwich, no pesto and add turkey, sub rye bread. Delicious!! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had - the soft, thick sliced bread made it outstanding! I'll definitely come back. I also loved that they had indoor seating, AC, and the food was made unbelievably quick. I couldn't eat any of the desserts but I hear they're amazing! read more

I don't remember seeing any as such- because it is a conventional bakery, I would say that people with Celiac disease probably should avoid Leoda's.
