Leoda's needs no introduction. On our way to our resort in Ka'anapali, we saw a little pie shop with a line out the door. We knew we had to stop by during our trip. We tried the banana cream pie and Olawalu lime pie (not pictured) to-go on two separate instances. The banana cream pie is fantastic. I'm usually not one for bananas or pies, but the delicate flavor of the banana and airy cream won me over. The lime pie was a little less outstanding. The lime flavor was delicate, but the texture of the filling was neither airy nor custard-y enough. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, and I'm sure you could take in the vibe if dining in. Even if not dining in, definitely do try at least once during your trip to Maui. read more

Leoda's was such a fantastic stop in Maui! There was a long line but the service was quick. Everything we ordered was delicious even when we brought it back to our place to enjoy. Leoda's absolutely lives up to the hype, we actually ended up going twice. I tried both the apple crumble and banana cream pies. The apple was really good with a strudel style topping adding some crunch, but the banana cream was easily the star. The filling was top notch and the crust had the perfect doneness to contrast the soft banana center. I could eat one of these every day. I also stole a bite of my friend's Reuben and the sandwiches deserve some attention too. The inside was nice and hot, the sauerkraut had a really good tang to it and everything worked together perfectly on thick crusty bread. Even the fries were solid. Leoda's is officially going on my list of places I have to visit whenever I'm on Maui, and probably one I'll go out of my way for. One of the best spots in all of the outer islands. read more

Visited on a Tuesday around 9:55am right before opening, there was a line of about 15-20 guests ahead of me so be prepared to wait. Restaurant opened promptly at 10am, guest slowly made their way in took us about 15min to place our order. Food: Apple Handheld Pie - size was about 3-4" long and 2" wide. Crust was okay somewhat flaky and fairly tender. Bake was a light golden color could have been baked a touch more. Apples were nice and chunky with sweet cinnamon sugar filling, good filling to crust ratio. Pie was covered in a confections sugar glaze which made it a bit sticky to eat, felt unnecessary for a handheld pie, overall okay. Service was quick order at the counter and staff packs your order, we grabbed our to go. Interior had about 15-20 tables l, self serve water and utensil station if you wanted to dine in. Overall seems like a convenient stop midway to Lahaina if you are looking for a sweet treat, wouldn't wait too long or go out of your way to visit but worth a try if you are in the area. read more

I was driving along the coast and spotted this pie shop. It's conveniently located just off the highway and easy to access. There was a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly. All of the pies were on display. It was so hard to choose one, but I finally decided on the chocolate mac-nut pie. The shop offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was so busy and crowded. I had heard so many great things about Leoda's that we had to stop by on our way back to Kihei from Lahaina to sample a sweet treat! My husband and I shared a personal size chocolate coconut cream pie and it was heavenly! It was so light and airy and delicious that we didn't feel that guilty after inhaling it! Apparently this is the place to get a good pie in Maui, so I'm glad we came for a visit. I think we ended up making a bad choice with the Chocolate haupa aka Chocolate coconut pie. The chocolate was very rich so no doubt about that but I think personally I did not enjoy the flavor. We got this one because we heard that coconut is a thing to try in general. We kept passing by Leoda's and the online hype is real - lines out the door nearly all morning each day! Finally, on our way back to Lahaina and with about 30 minutes before Leoda's closing we found an empty parking lot and no line! Unfortunately, you know that means...probably no pie left! And, I was pretty much right LOL! There were literally only 5 mini pies left for purchase and they were all one flavor - Chocolate Macadamia Nut. Thankfully for us that was one of the flavors we wanted to try! Got one packed up to go with an extra fork for sharing. $13 for a mini pie, kinda OUCH yah?! But thankfully the pie was big enough for 2 to share! Two words: pot pie. We stopped at Leoda's on the way back to our hotel from whale watching last month. We got there shortly after they opened so open tables (yay), short line (double yay) and they had pot pies, new since our last visit (quadruple yay). I got beef; my husband got chicken. They had a puff pastry lid (so flaky and good). He gave me an obligatory taste of his, much too small to make any sort of judgment. He liked it, though, so no complaints. Got there right when it opened, and there was a line already waiting. They are super organized and the line goes fast, do don't let that deter you. I asked the cashier her preference between the lime and coconut cream. She said the lime, so I went with that. My friend got the banana cream, so I got to try that as well. Both were really good. I am not usually a big pie person, but they had a nice balance of sweetness. So many pies just taste like straight sugar, but Leoda's lets the fruits shine. Neither of us could finish them, as we were totally full. Definitely shareable. They have seating inside and out, but also a nice big parking area if it was overly busy, and you needed to do a car picnic. My wife and I have been going to Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop for their pies for years. Our favorites were the Chocolate Mac Nut Pie, Banana Cream Pie, and Coconut Cream Pie. As per the photo, it can best be described as chocolate pudding with lots of cream. And at $12 it's a lot. The woman who took our order at the counter was brusque. It's a disappointment as a visit to Leoda's Kitchen was one of the fond food stops for us in Maui. I stopped by Leoda's Pie Shop while driving the west side of Maui and I can see why it's so popular. It's a great little roadside spot to grab a bite and of course some pie. We grabbed a couple of their mini pies so we could try a few different flavors and they were all really good. The crust was super flaky and buttery and the fillings weren't overly sweet. The Olowalu lime pie was probably my favorite. The place has a really nice casual plantation-style vibe and is a perfect stop if you're heading to or from Lahaina. It can get pretty busy but the line moves fast and the staff keeps things moving. Definitely worth stopping if you're in the area. read more

We had a great lunch here. Tried the Ahi Sandwich, Turkey club, kids burger and fries and then the lime and apple pies. The pies were delicious. The sandwiches were good, but I wasn't blown away. The ahi sandwich could have used some more flavor. Maybe a sesame sauce or a chili crisp, and the turkey club also needed something. Maybe a little cranberry sauce or something to give it some more flavor. The fries were really good, and even though there was a line out the door, it didn't take too long to be able to order. Completely delicious stop for lunch! My husband got the beef and potato pot pie, and it was so yummy. I had the spicy tuna sandwich, and while I thought it was going to be seared tuna (like a spicy version of the seared tuna sandwich), it was still super good and quite filling. The soft bread was A+. I would NEVER normally go for a traditional tuna fish sandwich, the kind mixed with mayo and revered by kids everywhere, but this sandwich may have actually changed my mind about that.... We stopped by, famished after a day trip on the Road to Hana! Expecting to see that majority of the stuff would be sold out, it was a nice surprise to see that there were some pies still available at around ~4pm on the Monday prior to Christmas! You would think that these places sell out quickly, especially due to the Holiday rush, but thankfully there was some left to order. We ordered our food at the front register and it took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. We took a quick pitstop to the restrooms, which were pretty clean! We got the chicken pot pies, and patty melts. By the time we got there, only the apple crumble, banana cream, and chocolate macadamia nut pies were available. We got an apple crumble pie. The chicken pot pies were great for a personal serving, and had delicious tender chicken, kale, peas, and carrots inside. It was pretty tasty! The patty melt was also pretty yummy, with a ton of cheese, and a pretty thick patty in between two slices of rye. It was quite heavy and filling. The apple crumble pie was pretty FIRE! I wished I had it heated up and ala mode (would've made it even better). The crumble was made from what I think were oats, cinnamon, and sugar; which gave it a great crunch and spoonful of sweetness over the tart apple filling. read more
