Dr. Carlos has been my dentist for the past 28 years ever since she started her Noriega practice in 1994 and honestly, I wouldn't consider finding another dentist. She has always been kind, caring, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. She and her staff have always done a thorough job of taking care of my teeth and they have treated me well throughout these years. I am amazed by Dr. Carlos's memory and personal touch. Literally, just yesterday during my dental check-up, she remembered that my wife and I will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this November. Before going to Dr. Carlos, I used to go to another practice in the area. The dentist that I used to go to was horrible - in and out service and the doctor was so rough! Comparing practices to Dr. Carlos is night and day; I'm so glad I switched doctors! Dr. Carlos is an amazing dentist!!! I have been seeing Dr. Carlos for over a decade. When I moved to NY for a couple fo years, I would make sure to see her on my trips back as there isn't anyone who can perform cleanings or any other procedure as quickly and gently as she could. She's made going to the dentist something I don't fear. I actually enjoy going in for my regular cleanings! It's a great feeling to leave there with sparkling clean teeth. I do not recommend going here unless you want to be verbally and emotionally abused. Hannah, the receptionist, at this office is the reason for this review and if there was a way to rate less than one star, that would be deserving in this case. Unfortunately, I tolerated coming here for years because Dr. Carlos is caring, polite, and has always made me feel welcomed. Her dental assistant Gina is also very nice, professional, and has never been anything but likable. Hannah on the other hand is a different story - she lacks professionalism and basic customer service skills. Depending on her mood (yes, there will be many unpredictable days if you interact with her, so be prepared to walk on eggshells. I warned you...) she will snap back for asking simple questions such as, "what's Dr. Carlos' next availability?" or routine tasks such as checking a patient's insurance eligibility will become a major deal and irritate her. You'd think she would know by now how to navigate through these everyday procedures she was hired to do without lashing out at the patient. She's condescending and flat out rude to the customer for no reason. It's a shame that Dr. Carlos tolerates such a staff member that clearly effects her practice's reputation. If it was not for Dr. Carlos' services, I would have stopped throwing money at this place a long time ago. Highly disappointed. I do not recommend this dental office for two reasons. My husband was told that he needs treatments for 5 cavities. We just wanted to have second opinion before we commit to these treatments and surprisingly, another office said those are not actually cavities. We were pretty upset imagining that we would have spent all those dollars to treat the healthy teeth. But we did not write any bad reviews on here because people can make mistakes and Dr. Carlos was a nice person. But after I experience the rude manner from Hannah, the receptionist, I did not want to protect them for any reason. Apparently, there was a problem with my insurance company not properly paying to them. Those things can happen in life, we just need to figure out through communications. But the way she deals with this situation was very rude. She called me and complaining about my insurance company in a very rude tone and cancelled all the future appointments which I was going to cancel anyway due to over-treatment issues. After I figure out that my HR office is trying to resolve this issue and try to update Hannah about the status, the insurance company already started the payment process. These things could be done more professionally and nicer way if you are service professionals. If you do not wan to ruin your day with this kind of customer service, please find other dental offices. She's thorough, gentle and was patient with me needing frequent breaks in between to address my concerns and overall needs as an individual suffering from sensitive teeth. Again Dr. Jay is the best Dentist I've been too. My only complaint is that her office is in SF and I now live in South bay. Yes, I still make the drive down to see her every ~6 months because she is worth it! She's always patient and always takes care of me with the utmost care. I've had her work on my cavities, work on removing my silver fillings, put on a crown, etc. At all times she always numbs me up correctly and I feel very very little pain. I've been so relaxed, while she was performing a cleaning that I actually fell asleep for a split second. I'm not sure if the previous reviewer was commenting about Dr. Jay or one of the newer dentists. Her schedule has been busy due to family emergencies. She was out for the month of Sept and I had to reschedule my crown procedure until October. read more

Dr. Carlos is amazing! I came to her for the first time a few months ago after finally getting good insurance! Went in for a regular cleaning and also for her to repair a chipped tooth my previous dentist tried repairing it TWICE, and both times the fill in fell out within a few months! She takes her time and is very caring and understanding. I cannot take needles and she had her assistant hold my hand when she was injecting the numbing meds into my mouth and she had noise canceling headphones for me to use during the procedure so i wouldn't have to hear the drilling as much! So, I was waiting for the tooth fairy to pull out my wisdom until I couldn't wait no more. Since I relied on the tooth fairy, I did not have a dentist. Lucky my mother recommended me to Dr. Julieta Jay Carlos, DMD and her BAUtiful team Hannah and Gina. I did not have an appointment but Dr. J accepted me anyways for my emergency 'Give me life, liberty, and some painkillers'. Gina is a very good photographer, she made sure my make up was done right, my hair was flowing just right, and my composition was in the right angle for my photos to show my best side. The side that was giving me the pain. Hannah was exceptionally awesome as she took the time to refer me to an excellent oral surgeon Dr. Gregory G. Olsen at Sacramento Oral Surgery. Since 'Dr. O' is closer to home, Hannah placed me in contact with them, which she pulled out from Yelp*. So it helps for people to view this website and make recommendation based on objective reviews.
