This place deserves 0 stars. Absolutely terrible service and food. Server added 20% gratuity and did not saying anything, even when the party size was less than 6, per menu requirements for automatic gratuity. After we said something, he refused to take it off and caused a huge scene by yelling and cursing at us. The owner was there and did absolutely nothing about it. If you're coming from out of town and want to enjoy a nice dinner, you would be better off going to Wendy's in the parking lot. This place was so gross. The entire restaurant was dirty and so was our silverware. There were several cockroaches in the bathroom as well. To top all of this off we were stolen from. Woof, where to start... Were in the Fraser area and had a hankering for a Mexican breakfast. Saw the several 5-star reviews and thought lets give it a run. We were so hungry that I missed a lot of red flags. First, no one else was there. Second, it wasn't until we sat down that we realized the place was FILTHY. It looked like there was a party the night before and they never cleaned up the tables. Chip crumbs, dirty napkins, etc dotted nearly every table. When we left, I noticed that the laminate flooring was separated in numerous spots, exposing the padding underneath. Seriously, just a mess. Service was attentive and nice enough. Food was pretty sub par. My chorizo con huevos was pretty bland, while my wife's huevos rancheros was swimming in watery sauce. At least her pico was half way decent. Both our refried beans were room temp or colder. I don't know how one can think 5-stars. Maybe it is a party spot and breakfast is not the time? But still, basic things were well ignored. Perhaps dinner is the time to go, but I couldn't bring myself to come back. If the front was that messy, I can't imagine what the kitchen is like. Me and my boyfriend went here for happy hour and MAN. We're from Texas and those margaritas were so good, the salsa is delicious as well! Very fair priced for those on a lower budget as well. This place is revolting! With cheap ambiance of torn paper garland and many lightbulbs burned out to create low lighting to cover their poor performance in multiple areas. We went to enjoy some burritos, chips and dip, and margs...queso tasted as if we had opened a cold can of Tostitos cheese dip (but worse). My daughter had the calamari that was decent, but not amazing. Even the chips and salsa came with only 2T of salsa and chips seemed old. Then the "food" arrived, and my burrito, that was supposed to be drowned in white queso, came wrapped in a silver wrapper...I asked and the waiter brought it back unwrapped with a ladle of cheese sauce covering it...and the smell was prominent. Not wanting to complain, I took a small bite and thought the chicken tasted funny, but I didn't complain and then took another small bite and gave plate to my hubby (who was a chef at a fine restaurant in KC Plaza) and he tried to take a bite and spit it out saying the chicken was rancid. After he tasted and smelled my burrito, he couldn't eat his food because of how obvious it was that they had fed us spoiled product. He nicely removed the burrito because it was so pungent, and walked it to the waiter, and instead of apologizing, the waiter got snippy. At this point, we were ready to go, and had eaten a few chips and dip and we left the pitcher of margs cause we were just wanting out. We offered to pay half the bill, which was still WAY more than we enjoyed. The manager and waiter admitted the cheese sauce was rancid but said the only thing they would take off bill is the one bad burrito and they didn't care that it had caused all of the food to be inedible because we were then scared it was all bad. My husband also brought up the decrepit bathroom with holes in wall and no hot water and they said, "Oh well, just a bathroom. We passed health inspection already!" I just said let's go and offered again to pay half the tab, and then said no so I made my husband walk out with me and they followed us out into the parking lot, took pics of our license, screamed that we were stealing from them, and called the cops! This after openly admitting that they had served us a rancid burrito which ruined our ability to eat anything. My husband, being a stand-up guy, went back in and paid 61 of the 75 dollar bill, and our "quick burrito with margs" became an unpleasant night in Fraser, CO. (But the pizzas we grabbed from Safeway saved the night!) Julio's isn't fit to serve food; management needs to look up food prep and customer service. We will stick with our old faves of Tabernash Tavern, Randi's, The Ditch, and Fontenot's. The one star is only given cause ZERO stars weren't allowed!!! read more

I have been going to Julio's for years and LOVE their tortas. Seriously, every time I am in WP, I must get a milanesa torta. Love them. I recently got take out and was equally impressed. Then we went to dinner tonight. Wife and I ordered two medium margaritas, advertised as "the best margaritas in town." Even if they were the only margaritas in town, they still wouldn't be best- horrible. All sour mix, no tequila and definitely nothing else. We sent them back. They charge $2.50 for stale, unsalted chips and salsa. Salsa was ok, appropriate spice level for everyone at the table. Tasted fresh. Chips- not so much. I ordered tamales, one pork, one jalapeño. They were out of jalapeño, so I got two pork. Definitely fresh and homemade. Good ratio of pork to masa. Good flavor with fresh toppings of tomato, a very mild chile, and some lettuce. Best part of the meal for sure. Wife ordered veggie tostadas. Other than being cold, they were tasty. Green salsa on them had interesting flavor unlike most green salsas. Tostada shells tasted like they were homemade on site. Neither of my boys got what they ordered but didn't complain. 12 year old got a bean burrito with a spicy green chile sauce that he didn't order. Too spicy for him. 9 year old order a bean chimichanga, the ticket read veggie chimichanga, and he got a chicken and bean chimichanga. Not bad, just not what he wanted. The bills comes with a 20% tip already added. Supposedly it says that it will happen on the menu but we were surprised. (The table next to us didn't have the tip added. Hmmmm...). Then, when we got the bill, they suggest up to 25% more tip. Ridiculous and very distasteful in my opinion. Either charge your 20% and be happy or suggest tips. Doing both is LAME, even if they have excellent service (spoiler alert- they don't!). The 15 year old serving us was ok, if not somewhat clueless, and didn't know what to do when we complained about the margaritas and the tip situation. When I talked to the owner, he completely dismissed us and never apologized for any of the bad service. So, pretty good food but terrible margaritas and service yields two stars and will likely mean I need to find another place for a torta. read more

Julio's was a great meal and close to authentic Mexican food here is Frasier. The service was great, food was yummy, and the drinks were tasty! The staff was amazing... we even met Julio himself! My only complaint was serving size, it was either massive or tiny, I found our 6 year old finishing his entire meal in seconds wanting more, while mine took nearly 30 minutes! I don't really leave reviews too often but I feel that in this case it's needed. I went in a couple hours before they closed. I know there's an issue getting people to work in small towns now a days but the staff that were working made me cringe. One guy talked to the other employees (so loud everyone in the restaurant could hear) about drinking so much alcohol every night that he could take big dicks easier. I'm not kidding. At that point most people eating got up and left...whether to go puke their guts out or just to take a shower, I'm not sure. The same guy then wouldn't take my order because he wanted to finish cleaning the floor first, which was strange that he wanted to clean it at that exact time because it appeared that this whole concept of "cleaning" escaped this fine eatery since the actual invention of fajitas. I should have left at that moment but didn't because I had to finish up some work and didn't feel like setting up somewhere else. Later I came to understand I couldn't have left for I was actually stuck to the seat, by what material I'm still not sure. When "Winter Parks finest" finally came to take my order he got it wrong. When it came out I was not going to eat it because it didn't look like any effort went into it and I was also skeptical of all of the staff at this point. Before I left I heard this same guy tell the staff that if the customer doesn't fill in the tip area of the receipt that he just filled it in with a twenty dollar tip, and they should too. The whole experience, on a scale of 1 to I need to light myself on fire...you get it. I was shocked that those employees worked at any type of job to be honest. The wrong food that came out did not look fresh at all; the meat was cubed and looked old and processed. I would avoid this place like the plague...because chances are good that if you don't get pink eye from eating there you'll just get a different kind of STD. Unless you're just into paying to get sick to your stomach, by either the food or the staff, I would actually not go within a hundred yards of this cesspool of bacteria and soft core porn talk. Sadly, I have to agree with the other reviewers who suffered subpar service, nickel-and-dime policies, and mediocre food. We were not allowed to split a check down the middle, there was no effort to accommodate substitutions, and our request for two more of the tiny honey packets for the sopapillas was ignored. The blasé attitude of the server was enough for us to never return again. I suppose the 20% automatic service charge was part of the reason for his poor attitude. The food here was just short of OK. Probably worth two stars on its own. And the value for money would earn negative stars if such a rating existed. Do yourself a favor and stay away. One of my friends had his order messed up twice and was never given his correct order. We asked for the manager and he took FOREVER to come to our table.. This is the best Mexican place in Fraser Valley. We come here a lot. The atmosphere is fun. The food is amazing and the service is great! They make everything fresh and their beans and rice are my favorite. Thank goodness they are added to most entrees. The Julio's margarita is the best margarita I have ever had. An unbelievably terrible meal ... We took a family of four here after seeing the 4 star reviews. I rarely post reviews, but this experience was so comically bad, that others need to be aware of what they're potentially getting into. There were two large parties in the restaurant, so expected service to be somewhat slow, however after seating - with a view of the kitchen, I didn't expect to see the servers standing around, which they were. Other than these two large tables, the place was essentially empty, so they were by no means slammed that night. We started with chips and salsa (which are $2.50 - normally complimentary in the rest of the civilized world). At most Mexican restaurants, the server would bring out two salsa cups for four people. Here? Nope - one half-filled cup that lasted about 30 seconds before being emptied. When I finally flagged down a server for more, he dropped some more chips on the table and ignored the salsa. It took flagging down yet another server to get a salsa cup refill - again, only about 1/2 full. A total deal-breaker? Not really, but the adventure was only just beginning. I ordered a burrito smothered with green chile, my wife the chicken enchiladas, and my kids a cheese quesadilla with pico on the inside, and a hamburger for the other one. The food took an abnormally long time to arrive especially as I could see the wait staff lounging in the kitchen. Cook staff undermanned? Perhaps. But by the time the food finally arrived, my burrito was lukewarm (so much for that theory that the cook staff couldn't turn out dishes). My wife's chicken enchilada plate was missing refried beans, and my daughter's quesadilla was missing the pico de gallo that was supposed to be in it. Also, we then realized that we had no silverware. So, after chasing down yet another server (we're on server #3 by this time), they brought three sets of silverware ... for four people. Chase down a server one more time for a fourth set. Speaking of the 3rd server, he may have been the owner, but he was wearing sweats and had a toothpick in his mouth. Classy. On to the meal ... courageously: The by-now lukecold burrito wasn't half-bad, except for its rapidly-progressing-to-room-temperature character. One more complaint got my daughter some pico on the side for her quesadilla. My wife asked about the refried beans, and was told 'they ran out in the kitchen'. My son took about three bites of his hamburger and lost his appetite. At this point, the original server come over to the table after a lengthy hiatus, probably in an effort to salvage his rapidly-diminishing tip. He asks my wife if she'd like a side of refried beans now. So ... somebody's lying about the beans, are there any in the kitchen or not? Her meal is done, she didn't need a refried bean chaser. We cut into the now-abandoned hamburger and discover that the inside is totally raw! Not pink-in-the-middle rare, but barely-singed on the outside and barely-unfrozen on the inside raw. Wonderful. All aboard the E. Coli Express! We get the hamburger pulled from the bill, and just want to pay out and leave. Nothing else was offered other than a sheepish, 'sorry ...'. For the first time in probably 20 years, I leave no tip. I NEVER do this - but this was actually a worthy exception to that rule. We pay the bill and get on our way only for me to discover the coup de grace a day later: The bill was brought for me to sign, but my credit card never came back, and in our haste to escape from this culinary prison, I didn't notice until 24 hours later ... from the wrong side of Berthoud Pass. So, if you find yourself even contemplating a meal at this dump, do yourself a favor, do a quick 180, and go over to Safeway for a balogna sandwich. It'd be cheaper and infinitely more satisfying. We were very happy to find Julio's and went twice in our 3-day stay in Winter Park. We dropped in for a quick lunch and I had the best enchiladas I can ever remember enjoying. The salsa verde was delicious, there was plenty of delicious chicken breast and the beans were yummy. Hubby and son thoroughly enjoyed their food though hubby was jealous because he had no salsa verde. We fixed that when we went back for breakfast and had the chilaquiles with green sauce (a special request). Having just returned from Mexico, we had a high bar for this fabulous dish and Julio hit that bar easily. I think I would probably give the place 4 stars (I tend to be a tough customer) but the service was friendly and the owner's family, including kids, are there to help and make your visit enjoyable. And then there is the price, three of us ate our fill at lunch for well under $30; can't beat that. read more

Just arrived into Fraser and asked the hotel a good place to eat. The front desk suggested Julio's so we thought we'd give it a try. I ordered the 2 fish tacos plate and we ordered a chips and salsa for the table. The chips came to the table warm (a plus) and the salsa was very good! I should have stopped there. The fish was fairly bland and was a strip of at most one inch wide by maybe 5 inches long topped with tomato, onion, and sour cream. 4 small bites and one was gone. The beans were good. The reason for the 2 stars is because of portion size. I don't eat a lot and if I say the portion size was small then you can bet the portion was small. I'm still trying to figure out why it cost $12.99. If you go here definitely get the chips and salsa. My daughter got the chicken burrito and said the pico di Gallo on it was very tasty. After spending a full day hiking, my wife wanted chips & salsa and a margarita to cap things off. Since it was happy hour, we wanted to find a great place close to our condo. After a quick Google search, Julio's seemed to fit the bill. First sign of an issue was how hot the place was! I know many places in Colorado don't have air conditioning so this was understandable, if inconvenient. The real issue was the 2 for 1 happy hour margaritas we ordered. I'm fully convinced that these drinks had zero alcohol in them, as they tasted so so strongly of straight margarita mix that we both had heartburn afterward. Kind of seems like a bait and switch if your happy hour two margaritas have less tequila content than one... The queso was alarmingly pedestrian, tasting more like ballpark fare rather than something worth the $7.50 we plopped down. The beef empanadas were tasty, and a highlight of our visit. Waitstaff was slow, and took 10 minutes to bring our check, even though we were one of two tables in the restaurant. All in all, not a good experience and would definitely not recommend Julio's for anyone looking for a happy hour hangout when there are so many options in the area. read more

I understand covid but the chili rejono was described as double battered and fried, they said nothing about it being smothered. You might like it, for me chili rejonos should be crunchy.
